Ajax - you sound like a brilliant OH - you can officially shine your halo:A

My OH was brilliant with my DS for the first 6 weeks of his life (I'd had a really bad time at the birth - emergency c section and lots of blood loss)., then we got in broadband and he got obsessed with playing Call of Duty, Battlefield 2 and CoD 2 online and neglected us and the house unless it was absolutely necessary (as in I threw a major hissy fit - but I'm fed up having to do that every 6 weeks or so).

I have to give him his dues, if I'm unwell (was off work for 7 weeks with "burnout - stress- depression" call it what you want) and he was great:A. But now I'm back to myself again its back to square 1 with my OH. He doesn't walk the dog, he puts DS into creche on his days off (unless he's off at the weekend and can't put him in) and does little or no housework at all - for example, he spent most of his days off this week watching Battlestar Galactica and reading books when he wasn't gaming. Before that it was Heroes, and before that it was Star Trek voyager. I've tried negotiating taking turns - before DS came along I'd make dinner when OH was working and so on, but since then I could negotiate as much as I want but nothing happens. I'd ask him to do something and 3 days later if it isn't done I'd do it myself but I get a huff from OH saying he was going to do it but doesn't. There's no use nagging (I have four brothers:eek::rotfl:, I know what most men are like) and there's no point refusing to do it because then it definitely won't get done.

I'm at my wits end. I don't know what to do but getting a rant or two has definitely made me feel much better.

Thanks Everyone for your support.:T I think I'm going to have to find my own solution to this one. Its not fair to all you guys on here looking for weightloss support. I'll take myself off to the relationships board later to vent and I'll stick with you guys for support in mentally wiring my jaws shut!:rotfl:

Ajax - just to make you feel jealous;). I was looking at your sig re: your golf handicap. My 2nd brother dropped his handicap 2 points last week from 8 to 6 in 2 competitions. we're a family of talented golfers apparently but I've never lifted a club (my boobs get in the way). Dad played off scratch for years but he's getting on a bit and his handicap is up to 8?!:D I guess I should try taking it up!

..... lol sounds like it could be your game delly, give it a go - fantastic exercise and will help weight loss no end. :)

To drop down from 8 to 6 in two comps is brilliant, as the increments at that end of the scale are really small. Must have taken a couple of fantastic scores.

...... lol not at all... it's just taking a little responsibility, part of being fair. She still does the majority of the housework. I try to tell her my talents lie elsewhere in making the home a successful one (and I think she's bought it :) )

Nooo - couldn't do that. I'm the only girl in a family of 7. Taking up golf would be betraying my mum. .:rotfl:

I know he came joint first in one competition with someone who's handicap was around the same range as yours - he made the local papers with his score (I know nothing about it personally). He really wasn't pleased at dropping so low though.

HELP!! Been dieting for over 2 months and spending 4 times a week in the gym.

I am a veggie too, but haven't lost any weight in that time, what am I doing wrong here? I actually feel like giving up the diet and exercise to be honest :o

When I go to the gym, I spend about 1hr 30 mins and I really work out, usually burning over 300 calories each visit.

Hi there - welcome to the thread.

I'm not saying this applies to you, but some people go to the gym so that they can eat more. If the number of calories you use is the same as the number you eat, your weight stays the same. To lose weight, calorie intake needs to be less than calorie output, so it's helpful to find out what your basal metabolic rate (BMR) is, so that you can control your intake.

You can find out your BMR by going to post#1 and clicking on either of the links to calorie counting websites.

Being a vegetarian doesn't necessarily mean calorie intake is less - meat must be replaced with protein in some form, for example cheese and pulses which are high in fat or calories.

Sorry if this sounds like a lecture, it's not intended to! I hope it helps.

Thanks Lubo, so how does this work do I set myself a target and tell you when I get to it or is there a specific weigh in day when you post your weight loss?

Hi Aussiesbird - welcome to the thread.

I post the weight loss chart on Wednesday evening, so if you're going to a slimming club, post your weight loss on whatever day you go and I'll add it to the next chart, Otherwise, make Wednesday your weigh in day and post your result before 9pm to be included that week.

Good luck with your weight loss.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH oh bought some chocolate as his end of week treat, i soooo want some :( i cant i cant i must not! HELP!?

    Hi Emmylou

When I'm faced with temptation, I ask myself a question, do I want to eat the chocolate/cake/biscuits/pizza etc, or do I want to lose weight? Sometimes the devil in me wins and I succumb to temptation, sometimes I'm angelic and eat something healthy instead, and sometimes I do both, beat myself up for a few hours and then decide that tomorrow is Day One! ;)

Let us know what you decide to do. :)
