Hi everyone, I have just stumbled on this thread and would love it if I could join in with this weight loss program. I want to lose approx 4-5 stone. Have been trying since Jan 1st but have not succeeded at all. I manage to be good for a week or two then all goes to pot. I suffer with depression and at the moment am back and forwards to the Doctors as I have had a cold for the last 3-4 months. I have been on steroids and anti-biotics but nothing clears it. I am also very tired all of the time. I do well for a couple of days where exercise is concerned then I am laid up for the next week so tired that I can hardly get up to cook meals. I am going back to the doctors again as this is ridiculous I feel so lazy but I just have not got the energy to do anything. So as you can see I could do with all the help and support I can get. So please can someone explain exactly what I have to do et to join your group. Thanks.
I can only please one person per day.
    Today is not your day.
Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

well, just finished dinner. We had quorn stif fry and while I thought it was OK my OH thought the quorn was a bit soggy:mad: .

So to all you Quorn officionados (Ajax) did I do something wrong or is Quorn a bit soggy:confused:

I did buy the fillets rather than the chicken style pieces and then just chopped them up (I reckon I burned some calories as I had to chop them up while still frozen :rotfl: )

..... lol, bits of frozen Quorn fillet pinging off the walls. I'm surprised you (well, he) found them soggy in a stir fry. At what point did you put them in the pan? If you put them in first then there's no reason you couldn't brown them off for longer in Fry Light. Failing that, grill them for five minutes first?

HELP!! Been dieting for over 2 months and spending 4 times a week in the gym.

I am a veggie too, but haven't lost any weight in that time, what am I doing wrong here? I actually feel like giving up the diet and exercise to be honest :o

When I go to the gym, I spend about 1hr 30 mins and I really work out, usually burning over 300 calories each visit.

....hi Devil, I personally don't pay too much attention to calories as I feel it is dangerous to eat too little - that will slow down weightloss. Why don;t you post a typical day's eating/drinking on here and folks will have all sorts of suggestions.

So, I gather that noone gets a reply unless they ask to specifically join the weight loss group??

... it might just be that people haven't got time to post a long post at that particular moment, missed the post, need more information, or simply don't know.

Lois, can you put me down for a half pound loss please? Small step I know but I'm delighted with that after the two weeks I had. :)

Thanks Ajax, I put them in with the onions and garlic - maybe I just need to brown 'em a bit more first.
I'm going to persevere with them as I'm sure once I get used to cooking them I'll be fine.

Hi Devil, welcome - sometimes we miss a post, doesn't mean you can't join in though. Give us some more information about what you are eating adn maybe one of our expert loosers can help.;)

Welcome aussiesbird, it must be hard trying to loose weight when depressed. Try and breakdown the weight loss into smaller chuncks so it is not so daunting - maybe you could aim to loose half a stone and when you've reached that goal you can extend it. That way you keep succeeding which helps with motivation.

    Take care all

    Lubo.

Morning All - long time, no post. Update: still living at parents house  and its driving me mad. Roof should be going on house this coming week and then things inside should start to move on. Hopefully (fingers crossed) it will only be another 2-3 weeks before we move back in. Please cross fingers, toes, arms, legs for me.......

Weight wise it hasnt been good (same old story). I have gained several pounds. I'm finding the whole house build/exension really stressful especially not living at my own house and tend to be nibbling a lot on all of the wrong things. I took kids to park on Monday and was mortified when I couldnt fit into the swing.... My friend who is v thin couldn't either but that wasnt the point :o I do have the incentive to lose weight, I am ok until around 3ish each day then it goes pear shaped. The evenings to me arent a problem either its the bit in between lunch and dinner. I'm hoping to up, ok well start exercise as the gym seems to have fallen by the wayside. I rejoined SW about 3 weeks ago full of good intentions but there were too may obstacles in the way, 2 hen nights, 1 wedding and 1 birthday party. I have nothing ahead of me just yet, a wedding evening do in September is my motivation for the time being.

Its not as easy to get online at the minute so apologies for not being around for the past month. I've missed the support from here so will try to get on as much as I can. Victory - have a great holiday (if I havent missed you already). I hope that you are all well, its great to see you back Delly, sorry to hear about the problems you are having, enjoy your holiday too.
