Had my weigh in tonight but couldn't stay to class. Overjoyed to report a 31/2 lb loss. I can't believe it, that makes it just 1lb to target:D
Well done to all the losers and maintainers.

Hi efrieze,Thanks for the support. Normally when my OH is off at the weekends we would take turns in getting a lie in. That's never normally the problem but we've been having other problems since DS was born. He works 12 hour shifts for 4 days and is then off for 4 days but only has 3 weekends off out of every 7. I have 4 weekends when I am on duty with DS all the time. On his days off he stays up late gaming online and drinking (both are a problem, but the alcohol is only a recent occurence)
. I only really started to post on this forum in April last year to get my OH to get to bed at a decent hour (DS was only 6 months old at the time and I was at my lowest with PND). He's started to get treatment for the symptoms of depression (inability getting/staying asleep, mood swings etc. ) but I was looking up alcohol abuse online last night and those symptoms also show up when you're drinking too much. So far he's gone through almost 3 liter bottles of bacardi and 2 of morgan's spiced rum in the past 8-12 weeks (with a little - but very little help from me). It probably doesn't sound like an awful lot, but considering before Easter a case of 20 bottles of beer would have lasted him 8 weeks and the Morgan's spiced rum was in the drinks cabinet over 2 years before he started drinking it it is a problem for him.
I know that this isn't really the forum to post this but on reflection it's not a wonder that I'm not able to concentrate on losing weight. I've very little real support from my OH (emotionally, he's brilliant but when it comes to the real stuff - housework, finances, even motivating himself to do anything he's useless! _ I love my OH and I don't want my marriage to end but I just don't know where to go from here!).
Another moaning minnie post! Sorry guys, I started to type and it's all just spilled out.

delly, if a moan on here makes u feel better then its worth the read
and its not really moaning, its just feeling stressed because u care if u ask me.
At last ive got on the waggon again. No junk food from Sunday has passed my lips! I felt i might have ate a little too much yesterday but it was all fairly normal stuff so im not going to beat myself up over it, the main thing for me is getting myself of the junk food addiction.
Been making my own soup and everythinggo me! so fingers crossed it works and i stick to it. My problem is if i dont see a dramatic weight loss i lose heart
and i dont want to do that grrrr

I can really sympathise over the lie in situation. My OH works 12 hours too with 3 on 3 off. When our DS's were little I used to get so resentful, he used to stay up late on his days off etc and I would let it all build up inside me until I exploded. Then the whole cycle would begin again.
Once they got older and stopped getting up at such ungodly hours things did gradually get easier, with us even going to bed at the same time:D
Depression can lead to drinking, and as you say the symptoms can be the same. Perhaps he could see his GP again?
Dont apologies for your post. A rant does us all good sometimes.:D

Thanks Jo and Emmylou. You've made me feel a lot better. Well done on losing 3 & 1/2 lbs this week Jo and good luck with your first weigh in Emmylou. I'm sure you'll do really well.
It's good to know I'm not the only one who is bringing up a son (or more in your case Jo) and someone else's son too! - As for getting him to go back to the GP - forget it.. he hasn't even started taking his medication yet cos we're going on holiday next week and they won't work if you're boozing too. .... guess what his priorities are?
Off to bed with a book. I'm sure things'll look better in the morning.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -

I am a veggie too, but haven't lost any weight in that time, what am I doing wrong here? I actually feel like giving up the diet and exercise to be honest
When I go to the gym, I spend about 1hr 30 mins and I really work out, usually burning over 300 calories each visit.
So, I gather that noone gets a reply unless they ask to specifically join the weight loss group??0 -

Hi everyone
Sorry I didn't get a chance to post yesterday, had the day from hell at work two days running, but did manage to weigh myself yesterday and have lost 1.3 lbs. That's now 6.6 pounds so far. Am well chuffed and thanx to everyone on here for keeping me motivated. Also managed yesterday to fit into my size 14 jeans for the first time in ages. Am so pleased, thanx again to everyone. I don't post everyday, but I read and catch up on all that's going on.
Cheers
