Kyle, if I remember correctly you have a diabetic youngster?? Any tips for when baking etc as to making something they can have??? I love baking and so do half the kids in my street:rotfl: My neighbours 9 year old has just been diagnosed and I want to make sure I make something suitable for him too, I don't want him to feel different so everyone will get the same:D

Ajax, you going to brave weigh in tom??

JHKE, I go to the gym as I have found if I don't do anything then my loss is either low or non existant!! I have limited exercises I can do due to a back problem but it still helps me lots... Havin said that havent been this week yet so must force self tonight:D

jojilufc I would check with your neighbour what this means for the 9yr old. My db is diabetic has been since he was 2, now 32, Has injections 3/4 times a day and it has just changed for him, in that he can now inject according to what he has eaten. This includes eating cakes, chocolate, etc.

jojilufc - thats a great idea:j yes my son who is 9 also has diabetes and he loves baking with his mum, although nothing is banned it is a healthy diet with occasional treats, my son is on insulin that i adjust accordingly to what he eats but this wont be given yet to newly diagnosed.

I make homemade hobnobs, my mum posted the recipe on the oldstyle board and has a huge following:D they are great to give to diabetics as they are full of oats and are slowrealese carbs, i also add cinnamon to mine as this has been linked to lowering blood sugar.

Homemade Hobnobs mums recipe is post 4 i think

I also make banana bread in the bread maker but can search for recipe that you can do in the oven if u wish?

Some recipes u can reduce the sugar and add sweetner, although some recipes u need the sugar as in the hobnobs, if u use sweetner in that then the mix will be too cakey and wont work, these need the sugar for the crunchiness.

If your neighbour would like to contact me then they are more than welcome to do so:D

    Morning All (Just about!),

Just signing in to confirm that I've lost 1lb this week:j :T
Like emptypocketz I've been unwell with the sniffles this week, but unlike them I didn''t take the sensible move of taking control of the cold and eating well.

No, not me. I went off food completely, so that may explain my getting sub 70kg for the first time since I was 15. :o
Just need to eat well and maintain the downward movement.

Well done to all the losers, and also to the maintainers! For some reason I have a hankering for Quorn... no idea why...

    Hello All!!

Well i'm pleased to report a 3lb loss this morning!!

It's a bit of a surprise given my couple of 'bad' days this week, but i'm pleased as it means on the good days i really was doing it right! A good start i feel, and very encouraging to stick with SW properly.
I did my best to be good at the chinese buffet last night SW-wise had lots of meat and veg as i promised myself but then overloaded on syns and badness because there was a ...chocolate fountain!!!!  could have been a total disaster so i just had some fruit kebabs with the chocolate as a 'treat' lol!!

Thanks Erlqueen for finding all those syn values for me!! and well done on your loss!!!:T

Well done also mistywoo, lubo, Vixx, bindiboo, rustynash and sa1sysoo on your losses!!

Efrieze and empypocketz a maintain is always better than a gain, well done!

Suggs don’t worry i'm living proof that a bad day is not a total disaster, lol! And the fact that you did so well at the gym surely made up for all the coffee and things!

JHKE, The first time i lost weight well i was doing exercise 3 times a week, either gym, step, aerobics, swimming or playing squash. Since moving home i have only just got back on track losing weight, and i have decided to start going to the gym/exercise classes with friends after work.

My new job starts on monday  :D:o dont know if i'm scared or excited or both lol!! Then i'm going to get ymca gym membership with my friends in the evening and go to an aerobics class. I figure it's best to dive in right away and get into the routine of going after work, else it may never happen.

Good luck everyone else who's yet to weigh in!!!!

    K xx

    Morning All

Back from Boots and having stepped everso gingerly on the scales in only my trackbottoms and tshirt, as per normal and having followed the "visit boots after you visit the loo mantra" :) I am hapy to report a 2lb loss to say I was relived and happy was an understatement. I am now 2lb short of a 10stone loss and 4lb short of target :) Holiday is in 3 weeks 4 days :)

There was a good article in yesterdays Times concerning how we sometimes 'con' ourselves when we use a 'credit' and 'debit' system with regards to our meals. The article can be found HERE I really do recommend giving it a read, I know its plain old common sense, but it made me stop and think :)

Big well dones to Katmad, lubo, emptypocketz, mistywoo, rustynash, vixx and bindiboo some great results there and my other mantra, "every little counts"

JHKE I go to the gym around 5 times a week in the rugby off season, I put in around 42 CV work on a mixture of bike, cross trainer and treadmill usually burning around 760-840 calories. It does help me a lot as it keeps the discipline going and I guess I know that if i do slip off the rails eating wise, it may not be a total disaster. However saying that, I feel that sometimes I do not eat enough, so I am my own worst enemy.

Hope your feeling a tad better brightonbelle

Quorn, I bought some chicken style fillets, not bad but to me and MsSuggs we thought it had the consistentcy of tinned ham?? It still was fine in our stir fry on Monday evening

Right back to work I go :)
