Well I bought sausages and some mince last night but haven't tried them yet. Was impressed with the mince as it was actually a brown colour compared to the type I bought a couple of years ago. This stuff actually looks edible :D

I swear there was a post here from Lois^^ they're going to send the white van with the square wheels for me aren't they? *sob*

Got back from walking the dog just in time. It started to hammer down here. Oh well guess it's back to work for me...

    EDIT (((hug))) for efrieze.

It's ok Erlqueen - you're not going mad, I did post this morning, three times! For some reason they've all disappeared! I'm not paranoid... well maybe a little... but even if I'm not, doesn't mean they're not out to get me....

I posted some information about an easy way to calculate the syns in wine - 375mls is 1/4 of a standard bottle. DH and I try to stick to one glass of wine, and make a bottle of wine last for two days, so we each have a 1/4 at a time - 6 syns if you're on SW (24 for the whole bottle :D).

I was also suggesting that a good way to find out the calories/nutritional value of any food, but Quorn in particular, is by looking up the item on the Sainsbury's to you website - you don't have to register or log in, the information is freely available to all. They have info for most foods, but not all.

I expect other groceries on line websites would have the same information i.e. Waitrose, Tesco, Asda etc.

Well done/commiserations/hugs as required to everyone that's weighed in so far this week.

Catch you later (if my post stays on the thread!).

So my Tesco.com order just came and well, I think I may have got a bit carried away with my Quorning! Lets just say if the manufacturers wanted some good photos for an advert then my fridge and freezer would be worth considering... I didnt realise Id ordered so many things lol

So guess whats for dinner ;)

Victory - thanks for the suggestions for the stir fry and sausages, they sound yummy! I'm eating gammon because it's quite low in fat and since I've been tracking my calories on caloriecount.com I've come to realise that almost 70% of my calorie intake is carbohydrates. I really need to eat more protein. I know the whole debate about quorn, I've been eating the vegemince lately and I'm sick of it, so I'm taking a break for a while, but I know that I'll get fed up with meat in a week or two and be ready to go back to quorn again.

Lubo - I got fed up with always chickening out of doing my exercise and I'm paying a gym membership that I'm rarely using because of OH's shift work. I decided that if it was down on my planner in black and white I'm more likely to stick to it (similar to menu planning which is working really well). The best time for me is in the evening. When OH is on day shift I can make it to the gym after 7.30 when he gets home. When he's off it's anytime and when he's on night shift I'll be walking the dog for an hour before he goes to work (and killing 2 birds with one stone!) cos I'll be home all night with DS and stuck indoors.

Thanks for the boost Petrichor. I've been feeling a bit low lately and I really need to refocus. I'm almost back to the weight I was when I started Rosemary Conley 4 years ago :eek:and I'm worried about going away with my parents, the last time we did I must have put on a stone in 2 weeks cos we ate so much. This time we're all on a budget and I don't think the fresh baked bread fairy will be visiting us as often (my mum in disguise!).:rotfl::rotfl:
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.
  • Hi guys - how is everyone doing? I've been on here this week.

I am really scared about weighing myself tomorrow morning. I did so so well last week, I went to the gym three times, ate really healthy. But this weekend I came down ill with a terrible cold (yeah in July!), and I have done nothing but eat stodgy comfort food since...starve a fever/feed a cold and all that.

I have just made a healthy tea in the hope that it will balance things out for tomorrow, too late I know but I really dont want the scales to tell me I have gained and then I go spiral out of control by eating more crap.

Sorry, am just feeling annoyed and sorry for myself right now

    Hi Folks:hello:
been low for a few days. Miserable health problems that are leaving me drained and in pain. So didn't go to weigh in tonight. Needed a day under the duvet to beable to face the world again. So put me down for a maintain.
Won't mention what I have eaten today :o :EasterBun .
    Day one tomorrow eh.

On the plus side bought a fab handbag yesterday beanie & Petrichor after all this talk of radleys. Found myself browsing accessories in a whole new way. Got a gorgeous little number in rasberry suede:D . Half price in Monsoon. Can't believe someone would have paid £40 full price for it though. A whole new world...

    Evening all

Long day for me, was in London by 8.20am for a seminar, and was in desprate need of coffee, so a skinny latte in Starbucks was had, however I had already had a Costa Skinny latte at 7 while waiting at MK station and then had a Cafe Nero Skinny latte at lunchtime with a low fat blueberry muffin, together with the normal filter coffee and one single small danish, sort of ruined the day :( got back around 3pm and went straight down the gym, blew away 851calories in the 42 minute session. home with some left over chicken breast, boiled potato and veg. Down to parents, bit of birthday cake, brothers girlfriend. Mrs suggs has prepared some mince and pasta for when I get home. So not too sure as to the day, some good and plenty wrong with it  though it has been the worse day for a couple of weeks. Day one tomorrow :)

Looks good espically for salt , fat & sugar as they are all very low , i didnt know what mycoprotein was so i looked it up

All Quorn™ products contain mycoprotein. Mycoprotein (“myco” is Greek for “fungi”) is a nutritious member of the fungi family, as are mushrooms, truffles, and morels. The fungus used in all Quorn™ products is Fusarium Venenatum. There are lots of great things about mycoprotein which very few people know, so here are just a few:

    - Mycoprotein is a fungus which contains high-quality protein, enabling us to offer an alternative, purely vegetarian source of protein to meat. It is high quality because it has all 9 essential amino acids.

    - Mycoprotein is naturally low in fat.

    - Mycoprotein also contains very few calories, so we can bring you foods which deliver on taste but which don’t max out on the calorie content.

    - Mycoprotein also contains essential dietary fiber, which as we all know, helps to maintain a healthy digestive system.

    - Mycoprotein contains zero cholesterol.

    - Mycoprotein is completely meat-free and soy-free.

The mycoprotein organism that is used in all Quorn™ products does grow naturally, but we simply grow it under controlled conditions so that we can bring you a large variety of high-quality Quorn products.

Only Quorn™ products contain this special vegetarian protein ingredient, and our expert chefs have many years of experience in using mycoprotein as an ingredient and turning it into our deliciously tasty and convenient line of ingredient products, grillable items and classic chicken-style products that we’ve become famous for

I think i would like try it what do you think is the nicest of there range?

You could see if you have gained first and if so then use it as a bargaining tool with yourself, you know what not to do so next week do all the right things, when it gets hard just say to yourself as I did-'It is only for 7 days or 4 days or whatever is left before the next weigh in when you feel you can't go on, I used to tell myself that and anyone can do it for x amount of days, willing myself to go on and when weigh day arrived always felt elated that I had kept going because the loss outweighed the difficult times...
