Starlight - an average of a stone a month is amazing, well done! You must have amazing willpower and determination. How much more do you want to lose, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks :) I honestly havent set a final target, definitely the same amount again though, I KNOW this time Im going to do it.

Im hoping to reach 98lbs/7 stone or even better 100lbs by 2 Sept, its my parents Ruby Wedding Anniversary and there are 21 of us going out for lunch, the last time I saw most of them was back in February at my nieces Christening :) Id just love if someone said have you lost weight? To be able to say 'Oh just 7 stones/100lbs' lol

    Morning All,

Well there's been some well impressive losses this week.... Mentioning no names, starlight, Petrichor, Kyle...:T And of course welcome to all the noobs/mergees:wave:
I hope you stay with us, as this thread can be really inspirational and the advice is always excellent:D

Oh, and efrieze, I agree, SotM does sound like a really good idea!

Anyways, after last weeks debacle of doing the monthly challenge in reverse due to my weighing myself at the wrong time, wrong day etc. I can confirm that my body has very kindly made Lois's job easy for her chart... last week I gained 2lbs... and this week I lost 2lbs....!
What can I say? Obviously hovering around the 11stone mark (give or take a couple of lbs) is where I'm meant to be!:rotfl:
Perhaps I could give tips to those that want to maintain... I'm obviously very good at it!

Seriously though, I'm not sure what else I should be doing:confused: I exercise 2-4 times a week at the gym with the occassion swim to surprise my body, I eat healthily, but still allow myself the occasional treat but that last stone/half a stone just won't shift! I would be happy just being sub 11 now! :o
Any advice that doesn't involve cutting off an arm would be greatly received!

Hi everyone:D As some of you might know I have been struggling the last couple of weeks with the diet and other issues and as a consequence have not lost anything.

I gained another pound this week HOWEVER something seems to have "clicked" in my head and I am now over whatever it was that was causing my self sabatoge!

I woke up yesterday morning just knowing that I was ok now, have stayed totally on plan since then and am quietly confident that I will be able to report a loss next week.:j :j

I won't be able to join the August challenge or the September one either as I will be going to Canada in two weeks time and will be gone for seven whole weeks. I will definately be up for the October one though! Now THAT should be an interesting weigh in!!!!

Thanks for all the messages of support.

Oh heavens^^ I was following Ajaxs’ link for GI foods to find out what ‘GI’ meant and caught myself browsing the ‘Diets for Idiots’ link. I got right to the link to download it before I kicked myself for being an idiot for almost falling for it. Sooooooo embarrassed :o

Well done on all the weight losses especially Starlight (a stone a month is fabulous. Such determination to change your eating habits makes me feel faint!)

And Petrichor – under eight and a half stone? You go!! I swear I was heavier than that when I was born. :rotfl:

lol Sa1sysoo – I seem to be maintaining as well although lubo posting about iced gems just before I went to Morrisons and found them on offer didn’t help me this week but I’m guessing you’re not supposed to eat three bags a day . (In my defence the only other thing I ate that day was a bacon and tomato sandwich)

efrieze – I think SotM is a great idea shame I’ll never receive it :j

I maintained again although I didn’t go to class. When OH asked me if I’d given up (again) already I simply replied that I couldn’t justify spending £9 (I missed last week so would have had to pay double) for the pleasure of being told I’d maintained or gained/lost half a pound.

I did however use the ‘class’ time to try on some dresses I haven’t worn for an age. Partly because I don’t go anywhere to wear them but mostly because they were too tight. I need to ‘dress’ for the evenings in Vegas and was delighted that both fit me now (wouldn’t like to sit down in them though :rotfl:) so just another half a stone will do me for now. Actually if I lost more than that I’d need to buy some new ones as they’d be too big, especially as they are fitted and the hips are too roomy already. I also got into my ‘target’ skirt with ease.

I’ll still be loosely following the SW ‘mix and match’ rules especially after the discovery of quorn (I made a meal this weekend :T) but I am going to make a concerted effort to also count calories well maybe I’ll just keep half an eye on that aspect. I know that I don’t eat enough on SW but I am curious as to my calorie intake.

Glad you are feeling better and more upbeat retiredlady and enjoy your hols (again) :D

On a down note - M&S have stopped selling nice Per Una jeans, at least I couldn't find any  Guess I'll just have to go shopping in LA and hope that Victoria Beckham isn't hogging all the sales assistants :rotfl:

Well I am so disaapointed. I lost 1lb this week and was so hopeful for more and needed to be over 1 lb to break through the next stone barrier. Grrr! Oh well, better luck next week.

... don't be disappointed efrieze - next week you will have the smugness of that stone mark in your pocket, and knowing that you didn't even need a big loss to do it because of your great consistency :) 'Tis a marathon, not a sprint :)

Hi efrieze, I know it doesn't feel like it right now but a pound is still a great loss for a week. Beating yourself up might have the reverse effect and make this week even harder so be kind to yourself, you DO deserve it!:grouphug:

When our weight loss slows down or tails off for a little while, it's just our body readjusting, and it will start to shift again. These times are the most challenging I find, as you can feel you're not being rewarded for all your efforts, but I promise that even though you may not be able to notice it so much on the scales, good things are still happeing!

    Take care xx

I'm struggling to keep up with the posts on here, it's great it's such an active thread, will have to check in more regularly! Takes me a while to read stuff at mo and I forget things v easily ( medical hazard:D) so forgive me for not mentioning everyone I'd like to!

Before I forget, lol, those people who are interested in low GI foods (sorry can't remember who you are!) you might be interested in GL. GI can sometimes be misleading - what GL does is takes the GI of a food and makes sure that you are COMBINING the right foods so that your blood sugars stay level and therefore, you avoid cravings/hunger. I can explain more when I have more time if you like?

I also have a very simple recipe for a yummy low GL muesli that I can post up here if you fancy?
