Oh, and 100g Quorn mince is not only 1.5 points, it's also not very much Quorn mince
and pasta is 3 points for 60g (dried weight). This is called a 'large' (:rotfl: )portion. Ditto rice
100g quorn pieces are 1.5 points
I never have been able to work out the science of why SW works when you can seemingly eat so much more than on WW, but it does for me anyway. But total respect to those for whom WW works very well too.
Starlight, it's great to read how well you have done on ww, and you are never a bore on the subject :T

.....60g pasta is a large portion? I spill more than that down my T-shirt when I eat a medium portion! Blimey. Me thinks that WW may not be the plan for me0 -

I did find I was hungry on 18 points. Cheese is high in points too (even low fat cheese) and don't think it is counted as "healthy extras" or anything so every bit of cheese counts.
A banana was something like 1.5 points I think. I can see why slimming world seems more appealing to me now especially with the possible mixing of red days and green days so I don't get boredworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hi all
Hope everyone is doing well
I have lost 2lbs this week taking me up to a 9lb loss so far:j
Found a old recipe folder of mine that i did when i was 17, loads of low fat recipes so this week i am going to be doing veg chilli, veg casserole and lentil curry.

I can't help with the WW/SW stuff as not really my thing, although my mum has real success with SW. Is anyone on here doing GL??
I wanted to say it's really helping me to know this thread is here, just that extra bit of support I need! I'm even looking forward to Wednesday's weigh-in (well, almost!). I'll only have done a few days but may have lost summat (other than my mind)...:rotfl:And if all else fails I might try this - :silenced:

...... which supermarket, pray tell? They sound divine.
As for a way of using them, how about in a pretend quiche? You'll be familiar with the old SW Pasta n Sauce / egg 'quiche' ...... if these sausages have the texture of quorn rather than the vegetable mush, then thinly sliced would be luvverly in the Pasta n Sauce/egg mix and bunged in the oven. ( If anyone doesnt know what I'm waffling on about, I'll post it up if there's interest.) Serve with a bit of salad and McCain low-fat roast potatoes.
Just realised that I didn't post my menu plan for the week, not too bright today, don't know why...
...Thanks for the recipe idea ajax but in view of what you said above we've decided to plain grill them just in case they are a vegetable mush  and have them with potato salad and a mixed salad. I'll let you know if they're okay or not, I got them from Morrisons £1.59 BOGOF, so if they aren't any good it's no big loss.
Monday.......Those sausages with new potatoes and salad
Tuesday .....Chicken and roast vegetable wraps
Wednesday .Tortellini in home made tomato sauce
Thursday ....Chickpea stew OR chickpea burgers and salad
Friday ........Green Lentils with fresh ginger and spices
As I've said previously, I've found the menu planning to be very good for me because I had so much in my cupboards and freezers that I just wasn't using. The tortellini has been lurking in the freezer for about 6 months (could be longer as I can only vaguely remember buying it) and the lentils and pulses have clogged up the cupboards for over a year, but at least the cupbards are getting to be a safe place now as it was a frequent occurrence for packets of stuff to come cascading onto your head when you opened the doors...
...:j Well done kyle :j Keep it up...
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

... heya Susie, well done on the loss. That stone is in sight now, must be exciting?
Would it be possible for you to post some of your old recipesup here over time? I'm thinking particularly the lentil curry as I have a bag of split red lentils and no inspiration.0 -
Thanks ajaxgeezer that is really helpful my shredded wheat isn't as bad as I thought. I can also find some better snacks as I seem to want to eat all day at the moment.0

A WW triple sandwich, typically cheese and tomato or egg mayo
2x WW frozen pasta-based meals, if portion sizes are so small
That's 3 main meals
4 portions of fruit
6 mugs of coffee with sweetener and 35ml skimmed milk per mug
2 175ml glasses of wine
Half a pint of semi skimmed milk 2 points
Weetabix 1 point each so - 2 points
WW Egg Mayo sandwiches 3.5 points but that appears to be for 2 so a triple pack would be - 5 points?
4 portions of fruit varies. A banana would be 1/1.5 but if its things like strawberries, raspberries etc you get a great size portion for 0.5 points.
2 glasses of wine would be 4 points.
As far as the ready meals go, personally I never have WW ones, the portions ARE too small. Id recommend Tescos Healthy Living Range which comes complete with points. ALL Tesco HL food is ready pointed for you. Their meals are much better, as are Asdas Good for you range
An average Tescos RM is around 7 points0
