Hey starlight!! I'd get 32 points, going by your worker-outer-er table, which seems generous. I'd imagine that I can get well stuck into some good stuff with that allowance?

32 is LOADS youd definitely not be hungry on that lol

Thanks Bb and Ajax. Yes I mean the how to do it book/booklets ;) With WW the recipe books you had to pay for too so that's fine ;)

It's just someone on ebay claimed that the "main" SW book food optimising costs £15 to buy so I wanted to check ;)

    Hi Everyone

Weighed myself this morning and I've managed to lose another 0.8lb, not much you might think, but it has taken me to below 81/2 stones(8st6.6lbs to be precise) which is my psychological point. When I first joined here I set my target at 9st as I didn't think that I'd be able to get down to 81/2st, but here I am :j and as usual, this morning, I put £5 in my jar which now has a grand total £150    I think now that I can ease up a bit and get down to some serious maintaining, I don't want to exceed 81/2 again and 9 st will be the absolute maximum but only if it's the first weigh in after xmas or a holiday...

...beard0609 I'm sorry to hear that you've had a crap month, it happens to us all so don't let it get you down :j it'll come right in the end. I've put you on the August challenge to give you some motivation :D ...

...homealone Glad that you're feeling a bit better and good luck with the walking etc, every little bit will help :T ...

    ....lol I miscounted, it's actually 31. For some reason I was imagining I was 16st 7lb rather than 15 stone 7lb

If it's not too cheeky, could you please give me a points value for this, a typical working day, if I defected to WW? :o

2 Weetabix with 200ml skimmed milk
A WW triple sandwich, typically cheese and tomato or egg mayo
2x WW frozen pasta-based meals, if portion sizes are so small
    That's 3 main meals

    4 portions of fruit

6 mugs of coffee with sweetener and 35ml skimmed milk per mug
    2 175ml glasses of wine

Also, what about things that really should be 'free' ... chillies, peppers, onions, Quorn etc?

Sorry to be a pain xxx

I want to give my weight loss a boost and was thinking of including more low GI foods but don't have a comprehensive list. I was wondering if any one could recommend a good breakfast. I don't like porridge and usually have cornflakes or shredded wheat both which are quite high. Any ideas please!!!

... until someone comes along with some knowledge, how about trying a dedicated GI website, or even google it? GI is a bit of a buzzword these days, so I would have thought the available information would be plenty. Can't really help any further, definitely not my comfort zone.

Here >clicky< is a comprehensive-ish list of GI values.

    Morning Ajax

My colleagues husband always does well with WW (though I'd be sorry to lose you from the SW fan club). My colleague and I always found we didn't have enough to eat, only being allowed 19 or 20 points each (and pasta is very highly pointed).

.....just collecting data at the moment BB, feet are still very firmly planted in the SW camp. I personally don't think I could cope with WW's small portion sizes and counting every last slice of onion, but if it turns out that's not the case then I'll construct a pareto diagram of my foods and take it from there.

Ajax as far as I know, on the traditional ww "points" plan, the only free food is veggies (not potatoes, peas, sweetcorn or parsnips though) - and sugar free jelly. 100g of quorn mince is 1&1/2 points. If no-one else points your day for you, I'll do it tonight when I get back from the gym (home from work for lunch at the mo!).

...thanks delly. That's very like SW, the only non-free veggies on a red day are the four you mention and (I think) kidney beans.

Oh, and 100g Quorn mince is not only 1.5 points, it's also not very much Quorn mince :)
