SFD here again today which takes me to 17/20. Will be a spend day tomorrow though as I will need milk.
Another LTW today takes me to 18/21 so still on target. I might allow myself a small treat on Friday. I will still take my lunch LTW but our restaurant has started doing deep fried Mars and Bounty on Fridays. I've never tried this before and am so intrigued. It only costs 65p so I figure that it's not a massive hit on the budgets and I have cut back on almost all of my treats so it's probably OK. Also they have a habit of stopping things without warning so I might as well try it while I can
Just had a quick look in the freezer and food cupboards in order to menu plan for April. At first glance it looks like I can feed the 2 of us for at least half of April without buying anything other than fresh veg, milk and sandwich fillings. Not a bad start to the new month :j
Off to bed now so see you all tomorrow.

NSD today but not yesterday - went to the little shop for chocolate and crisps (don't allow myself either, most of the time). Told myself I was averting a bigger disaster as after 9pm only the extortionate all night garage.
Couldn't have walked any further.
Still managing to feed boys on squirrelled away Christmas bits cobbled together. Had to defrost remains of a pack of chicken breasts to make 'dinner' as the sliced turkey became my tea yesterday (with rice, a wrinkled pepper and a few mushrooms) and then sandwiches for DS3's friend. Used every scrap of broccoli/cauli, frozen peas, tin of sweetcorn + tiny potatoes roasted in garlic and herb dip. Bulked mine out with a large portion of red cabbage and balsamic dressing. Finished off the last of the frozen yoghurt (anything exotic were Christmas bits - menus had to change when the oven was out of action).
DS3 will have to go to the SM tomorrow but it will only be a mini shop. We have no bread, milk, plain yoghurt, hardly any veg but I have fed an extra mouth for two weeks this month so would have got through on normal consumption rates. I can't get to the SM so will give him a list and a maximum spend and allow him a couple of extras - some things he cooks for himself but not had in as they needed the oven. Found the bacon - my list said there should be some but couldn't find it last week. As freezer empties little gems keep appearing - yet another pack of lamb sliced ready for a dinner + sandwiches (just absolutely nothing else to make a dinner).
Not sure what to do about Mother's Day - have embroidered a card and am trying to make up a pair of cushions I have been embroidering over the last two years but some of the things I need are in the attic. Mum stopped speaking to me one year when I put her present and card through the door but failed to 'visit'. May need to get a taxi, bus feels like too much at the moment - this will be from next month's budget as will have to borrow from DS3 (already checked and said he can have it back next Wednesday). Will probably be offered a lift back so probably only 50 pence more than bus.
Done some sums today and paid minimum off cc bill which had arrived. Deducted net amount (payment less projected interest for next month) from debt and found I was only £2.31 away from having paid off 5%, so went back and paid that off another card. It means that I only have 96pence in the bank after the bank loan goes out on Monday but then the next batch of standing orders is mid-month. Will hope/badger for the money I am owed to come before then (utility bills will be first to be cancelled as they owe me money and I am not paying charges when it's their fault).

Good evening everyone! Hope each of you are getting on well with your goals!
I am going slowly, securely, safely but surely to score!!
I have not updated my signature yet but I have some positive news!
Update!
I have been accepted to do my MSc! And on the 1/4, i am meeting with my supervisor! I am glad it took a little while to meet him as he was on holiday because I had a chance to clarify on the topic of my research!
I entered my business idea into a competition and I won 2 day business boot camp, mentoring for life plus a small amount of money to start it up!!
update in the not so positive!
Well, one of my BTLs fixed rate expires at the end of June! I wanted to reduce the LTV by saving 10 grand and overpaying it to remortgage into a better repayment rate BUT we had so much going on! Plus paying fees for my MSc studies ! I have looked the nationwide, Halifax and Zooppla's house price indexes and it appears that my BTL has increase in value by £7000 so let's see if that would count when I start remortgaging and moving it to a better deal!
I shall be cheering all of you till I join you again in April!
Sending you all positive vibes!

:j:jCongratulations for MrsGSR :j:j
And welcome back Abundant!:T
Sorry to have been AWOL for a week, being away for a hen do for a whole weekend not condusive to checking in on-line! But it was lovely, amazing Victorian hunting lodge, and great catering (by us), plus the guys who ran the estate got out the river hot tub and sauna as a treat for us. The hot tub is a big box built on the back of a trailer and the sauna is a converted horse box :rotfl: Plus the highlands were all decked out her finest, a sprinkling of snow and glorious sunshine. So wonderful to spend proper quality time with some of the most important ladies in my life, they're all such impressive women.
A few spends from the weekend (petrol costs and a couple of meals on-route), but other than that not much to report.

Greetings Earthlings.
I have been paid. I have also spent.:):o:):o..a £6 t-shirt from Primark which is right beside my vaccination please (last rabies shot today) in London but is has the Jurassic Park logo on it and I LOVE those films... #mustbuy......:o:o:o
I realize this month was hard for most of us. My SFD count got lost in the mire of needing to books flights, ferry crossings, cat baskets, backpacks, cat food, make-up and such like....
I also have £442 on my CC.:mad::mad:
THANK THE LORD I have the wages to cover this AND pack away £1000 in my Travel Fund. :T..I am very blessed!
I have realized my food intake might be the problem for my CC usage. Getting to my local Tescimos means taking the bike out once I reach home, buying it at work and carting it home, or getting off the bus early before getting home and carrying it by hand while waiting in the cold for buses that only come once every half hour - neither option is enjoyable.
The little local Sainsburys to work is too close for comfort.
So I am back to the drawing board for April - Mumsy and I will be doing a massive shop when she arrives on the 2nd as she has kindly offered (although I am not comfortable with taking her money) and the rest of the month is chalked up to staying in, playing on my new laptop, planning my travel blog and actually cooking instead of eating such easy foods all the time....
Back to the beans!
The new challenge will be going up tomorrow.
However I haven't factored in paying for the buses everyday - £13 a week. makes me sick....
Right I shall be back forthwith - stay safe Torties..:T:T:T“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
