    Welcome back abundant.

I have had SFD today and tomorrow should be one too. I am annoyed with the weather, took the dog for a walk and was all set to do an hour, right outside the gate it started lashing with rain and hail, we did 10 minutes and both got soaked for nothing really. I was so cold and wet I didn't go out on my bike as planned - I feel really fed up now.

    evening all :)

just a quick check in to say as ive been paid for some jobs earlier than i thought and have sacrificed my hair cut this month i will be debt free on sat (waiting for a few payments to clear). the final £790 will be gone :j:T

i have not been debt free since i was about 20 so have had debt for around 8 years

determined to stay out of debt!

do however have around £400 of new purchases on the cc but they are not even on the statement yet. am not counting these as debt as the money is not due to be paid till 28 april and i have the money ready for then :)

should end april with money left over as have not factored in rent money in case i have a delay in getting a new lodger. however will get partial rent from current lodger anyway :)

will be starting to save the £2900 needed for my holiday first before more home improvements (except a few tins of paint). going to look into the lloyds current acc that pays 5% interest to save in.

looking forward to the new challenge :)

    Evening All,

Apologies for not posting yesterday, I got carried away cooking and forgot to log on! But I did produce 20 portions of pasta bolognase, a chicken casserole, huge pot of chicken/broccoli soup, tons of chicken stock and a large amount of choc chip oat cookies!

SFD yesterday as at work, was hoping for one today but ended up taking dd to an indoor soft play as it was raining all day, bought myself a hot choc while I was there as well as picking up a mothers day card, came to just under £10!

Am getting a bit concerned about dd clothes situation as she's still wearing 9-12 mths clothes (she's 2 in June!) but it's all winter stuff. I've got lots of summer stuff but it's all 12-18 mths and is so massive, none of the trousers will stay up and the tops are all round her knees. Unless she has a massive growth spurt in the next 2 mths, I'm going to have to fork out for more clothes for her. Took her to get her feet measured today and they haven't grown at all, she's been size 4 for nearly 4 mths! I'm not worried about her as she's happy and healthy, just my bank balance if I've got to supply a new wardrobe for her.

Anyhoo, looking forward to finding out about the new challenge, am feeling really pleased with how I have done this month as it's my first go, and even more pleased with the cash I've stashed as well as the payments I've made off my cc.

    Totals so far:
    14/15 SFD's
    £102.29/£100 groceries incl cat food
    15/18 LTW
    £20/£40 petrol
    30/30 donations/declutter

    Happy Thursday everyone! xxx

    quick update

    1. 18/20 SFD
    2. £319.87/£260 food budget
    3. £50/£50 petrol allowance
    4. 19/21 LTW
    5. 1/1 weekend away with dh for anniversary. (all paid for already)
    6. 1/2 pictures (1 with mum 1 with DS1)
    7. 0/0 takeaways, coffee shops etc
    8. £3/£3 local food bank toiletries
    9. £1.99/£7 beauty spends (£3 to food bank)
    10. continue decluttering house – our bedroom this month
    11. inventory freezers/cupboards etc and do menu plan using up as much as possible.
I have gone over my food budget but this was an experiment anyway so not to worried about it. I had tried to see if I could do a 5 week month in 4 weeks money but this hasn't really worked. Mainly due to having 4 vouchers for sainsbugs for £8 of a £40 spend even though I had done my 'big' shop on the first of the month. My cupboards are well stocked and to be honest I am still less than I would normally have been for 5 weeks, so it's not all bad.

Did a huge declutter of my clothes at the weekend which has resulted in two black bin bags full and a carrier bag of handbags. So will be clearing those off to the cashbanks soon.

Will clear out the cupboards and freezers again this weekend and make a menu plan for next month. This will then feed into the shopping list for next weekend to do my big shop, but hopefully this will be significantly smaller than normal as I do have a lot off stock in already.

    clippy girl, congratulations! :T:T:T

SianneLaz, at 6 my dd is just out of age 3-4 clothes. We still do the 'jump test' on trousers and skirts to see if they'll stay up. Try your freecycle site, maybe...

Another NSD acquired today, plus £2 credit for another bag to the Sally Army. Plus an early morning exercise session before my brain could object.

Dh got our car insurance £50 cheaper so I've moved said amount to the mortgage.

Just back from a full governors meeting at dd's school. A pain to go to, but always satisfying. I do like to know what's going on!!

Just a quick post tonight. Spend day today as expected as I needed milk and also got a newspaper for the £5 Aldi voucher.

    LTW today Oslo 19/21.

Off now to plan my Aldi shop as I want o get as close to the £40 as possible so I can use the voucher but not buy just for the sake of using it :money:

    Night all. See you tomorrow

    Evening torties.

Really looking forward to the 1st of April and starting the new challenge. Since we ran out of bufget, I have gotten a bit bored.
    :o

I can't remember if I posted yesterday but I know I didn't update my signature so it is updated now...

A spend-free day yesterday and another today which makes 17 out of 20. Only 3 to go... and I will achieve this due to the lack of money.
    ;)

Have slept most of today and am now sitting typing in the dark as OH is asleep due to being on early shifts. It's harder than I thought it would be.
    :p

Love reading everyone's stories. As much as I don't say it, they really are an inspiration to see how other people cope and deal with debt. I am learning so much.

    Keep plodding on torties.
    Hugs.

p.s: NSK... I am keen to do the challenge in April but I won't be able to post every day.
If I am on nightshift, I struggle to read the posts in the morning, let alone have enough "awakeness" to write something which makes sense.
Also, we are going to Barcelona on the 26th - 29th April so I won't have internet access to come on here at all.
Would you rather I officially missed out April and came back in May?? (I will still do it on my own but just not on here).

Today should be SFD #20! Got a reprieve from having to go to the supermarket. OH is getting in late this evening and I have breakfast stuff in so will just need to see what's needed tomorrow.

Going to try and clear the decks a little at work today but then I also need to write up a list of things to be done in the next week or so. We are getting Office 2010 and I already know that one of my macro's won't work. It's going to be a trying couple of weeks.

Looking forward to spying the new challenge....may have to do a sneaky log in at work instead of just reading.
