Hi Torties... look at the SILENCE on the board!! I am a little worried about those not checking in and might make it a daily request for next months challenge which will be VERY different from other months.

I have relented and purchased a MacBook Air. It has cost me £1142 with an upgraded RAM for those in the know and a 2 year extended warranty. I am making charts as to what else I need to buy and how much money I I will have by the end of it.

It will see me through a good few years I know that much! GULP! :o

I think that's a good idea, I check up and sometimes no one posts for HOURS, I love reading everyone's updates.
Looking forward to next months challenge already, when you say VERY different, do you actually mean VERY [STRIKE]scary[/STRIKE] hard?

Ooooooh a new MacBook Air, very nice!im sure you'll make it last you a good few years ;)

Ooooooooh, talk of the new challenge.
    :D

I do apologise for my lack of posting sometimes but when I am on nightshfits, I barely manage to read the posts made before I fall back asleep.
    :embarasse

Today is a spend-free day which I think puts me up to 14. I think.
    :)

The diet starts again today so it is a starve day today. I am allowed up to 600 calories. I have made my first ever attempt at slow cooker soup. I have 5 old potatoes (peeled and chopped up), some shredded carrot (yellow labelled and a bit watery so I assume going off) and some leftover chicken that I have taken off the bones from yesterday's roast. A very thrifty soup but will hopefully be yummy.
    :o

Wow... NSK!! I am glad you got your new laptop. Might I recommend google maps... I use the old version but the do have a new version as well. It would be brilliant for you for all your planning. (If you go on to google then the 9 squares arranged together and select maps). I have used it for planning a lot of my holidays and have found it very good. You can also go on streetview and see things as they look (which helps me figure out where I am once I am on the ground, so to speak).
Sorry if I am teaching you to suck eggs or something.
    :undecided

Any chance I can request number 8 for the next challenge too please NSK??
    :)

    Keep plodding on torties.
    Hugs.

Checking in sorry have problems with my tablet at the weekend at home. Loses everything I type. Perhaps I need a MacBookAir I wish, even a laptop would be ace. Will try to pick up a second hand one if I can.

Also having problems with Tendonitius clicking a mouse is hell today, mainly in my shoulder and middle back.

Where is Thiftys baby - my advice go bowling I did when I was overdue and later that night baby popped out. Had to have someone to pass me the ball as couldn't bend enough to reach.lol

Nothing to report spent both days Sat - bit of lidl shopping and yday a cake as daughter home today from her travels, so excited to see her. Can't wait to finish work, rush home and get the coffee cake out and have hugs.

Just feel my life is so dull at the moment, trying to get cc down and nothing else. Got a night out planned Friday, Real Ale Festival and some great bands on. Will dress up warm in a marquee tent. Just have to dance more.

Had a productive weekend, cleaned my house sparkling and few long woodland doggy walks.

Overbudget on food by about 20 pounds, naughty step here I come.

Depends on how you look at it. But yes one rule will be a daily check in whether it's a one liner or an essay!

    Hi all!

Sorry, been MIA most of this month. My head just hasn't been in the right place recently and I've kind of slipped into the dolldrums (sp?) and am struggling to get back out the other side.

Been spending about £50 a week on groceries, really wanted to be aiming more for £40 though. Still have £400 in my bank acount (and it's payday on Friday) so should hit my £500 saving target. Think I'm still on track for 4SFDs a week though.

    Take care xxx

Oh my, it's been a week since I've checked in! I really need to get back on track but still struggling emotionally. It would've been mum and dad's 45th wedding anniversary this Saturday just gone. Harley kitten (given to me by dad) is still missing, been over 2 weeks now so not feeling hopeful for his return now. Feeking a need to comfort shop - I never thought I was the type until now.

Treated myself to some un-needed toiletries (£22) this weekend and spent way too much (just over £100) on my weekly shop. I've slipped back into hoarding again, the freezer is bulging, I really don't need to go food shopping! Can you tell it was payday on Friday?

Still, I'm keeping up with the SFDs and have managed at least 4 every week.

It's amazing how quickly I lose track when I don't come on the forum daily. Sorry everyone, whinge over:(

Had to spend today but I'm not counting it as a spend. I had to go to a meeting about an hour away from where I normally work. So will have to put in an expenses claim, therefore needed a fuel receipt. I could have waited to get the receipt, there is no time limit on when claims can be put in but, I needed fuel because of how far the meeting was.

Going to put the fuel as April's budget though and then the expenses when the come in will go to the budget or to the CC.

Am considering using some of my house fund though to pay off the CC in April. Reasoning being that I can do it and that as I am, through these challenges and paying attention to what I spend, save £300 or so a month, I will still have it paid back.

Having a bit of a weird month. Work is kicking my butt and it isn't meant to be doing this month. Things are all jumbled up and it is getting to me a little.

Budget wise I am all on track, apart from having to borrow £10 of my medical for food. I don't need any more food this month though.

It was payday for me Friday gone so my money is now just sitting there burning a hole in my bank. But that is exactly where it is going to stay, in the bank, ready for April.

I don't post often because I feel like a bit of a fraud. My credit card debt is manageable and I don't have half the stuff going on that others do.

I do read everyday and will make more of an effort to post daily, even if it is just to say that not a lot is going on.

Oh, before I go and try and make my kitchen look normal, today is SFD 16. Should make my target.

Hello, no SFD again. Went for walk and got bread and fruit. Then spend all day cleaning and demoulding the conservatory including scrubbing 10 blinds in the bath. Totally sore and knackered. Still no baby but loads of practice contractions.

Love the sound of a new MacBook air.

Will disappear just now and maybe check in again later.

But yes one rule will be a daily check in whether it's a one liner or an essay!

I'm an essay kinda gal :) but, like stewby, I get too tired to string sentences together after a night shift so I always thing I'll update when I have more time/am less tired/have something exciting to say. I shall commit to daily updates in April!

I've clocked up a few more SFDs, blown my food budget (again) and have preserved my misc budget quite well. Payday will be Friday for me and I'm waiting (im)patiently for my wage slip to be published so I know how much I'm getting and can plan the debt destruction!

Another night shift for me tonight. I've got a 'packed lunch' of green smoothie, some watermelon and a carrot, collard, red cabbage and tahini wrap to see me through the night :) I'm sure I'd be cheaper having pizza delivered, but my way's much more delicious!!

    Enjoy your evening everyone :)
