Afternoon.
You will most definitely learn your lesson NSK. I did this before with the controlled drug keys (must be kept in hospital, etc, etc) so after a 12 and a half hours at work, I drove home (40 minutes) found the keys when I put my uniform in the wash (emptied the pockets), phoned the ward and then drove back to drop them off.
Having been up since 05:30 and finally getting to relax on the sofa about 15 and a half hours later, it was something I have never done again. It was a harsh lesson to learn.
I do find the no-kiosk petrol stations a bit of a pest sometimes. Especially when you are trying not to use the credit card.
:undecided
So... today has been a spend day. Boo hiss. I am more than likely not going to make the 20 SFD that I set my target for so am feeling a bit rotten about that HOWEVER, being that I like to feel like I have achieved something, the plan is to play around with money.
:embarasse
I have a savings account with approximately £400 in it. The plan is to remove £150 and put it to the N3XT account which leaves me about £40 to pay off it.
We currently have £24 in vouchers but can't really find anything to spend it on... even in the sale!!!! (I must definitely be broken, I used to buy so much rubbish).
£200 of the budget account is getting turned into euros for our trip to Barcelona. That will give us 500 euros (approximately) which sounds like a lot for three days but we are keeping any spare euros for our trip to Kos in June.
I apologise as I sound like I am going on holiday an awful lot and considering I have debt, I must sound like I am not taking it very seriously... please allow me to explain.
Barcelona: paid for by my OH... we are going for our fourth "anniversary" and there will be a ring involved.
Kos: My OH's best friend's wedding. OH is the best man. It is all-inclusive for a week so we shouldn't need heaps of money (I hope).
:undecided
Anyways... I have digress, I apologise again.
Today, we have taken £30 of the £40 out of the budget account. £20 went on food and £10 has gone on a lotto ticket (don't ask, it's not a proper lottery ticket). The joys of family.
The scary thing is that I used to think saving was really hard and I never got anywhere with it so I never used to bother. However, I think I just needed goals and organisation as we are currently doing two savings schemes on this forum and after April's money is added, we will have over £1000 saved!!!!! It's a miracle!!!!!
:j
Erm... I feel like this is a little war and peace-y so here goes another apology.
I am away to dust and polish before my parents arrive for dinner. Hope everyone is doing well and remaining focussed and happy.
Keep plodding on torties.

thrifty, I only have the one, but she was 15 days late and only came out with much encouragement from the drugs! And they only moved me to labour ward when dh said he'd take me home, as they'd brought me in 36 hours earlier and not done much. Hope you're not waiting that long!
stewby, your saving is inspirational well done you!
NSK, bummer about your phone and bike. Grrrr to both.
Well done Dolly on not signing up to the gym. It's great getting outside to exercise.
And to all those I haven't commented on, thank you for posting and sharing with all of us readers.
Gained anothrr NSD - yay! And may well take a day off from the knitting as my brain needs a break from it.
1 item decluttered, tho the 2nd kitchen drawer will have to wait for a brain more capable of making decisions than mine is at the moment. Slowly and steadily I shall make that decluttering target this month. Aha! Just remembered that we had to replace all the bread hoards, so technically, 3 more items gone (despite being replaced - am I cheating?)NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Thanks for all the tips. Walking loads and generally being active (although not keen on bed gymnastics, lol). DS was 14 days late and induction and labour took 36 hours. So made a new list of things to do next week and just accept it might be the same.
Got my mob contract now cancelled and went back to payg. Way cheaper for my usage. Otherwise not much to report.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

SFD number 13 hereNeed bread tomorrow (for OH) and then a full shop on Tuesday evening (payday). But should just make my 18 by the end of the month
Just had a quote for some concrete work outside and it is double what I had hoped and I'm not sure what is reasonable. Anyone know anything about how much building type work should cost?

Evening All,
Spendy day today, got up early and went for a run (dd stayed at my mums last night), came home, dropped off a ton of Avon books, then shot off to A*da only to find it doesn't open till 11am (got there at 9.55am) so went to T*sco's instead. Luckily my £15 gift card arrived yesterday so I only spent £13 of the budget. Got home just before dd arrived, made her lunch then spent the afternoon entertaining a friend and her rather naughty 2 year old!! My cats are so traumatised!
Anyhoo, totals stand at
12/15 SFD's
£94.16/£100 groceries incl cat food
13/18 LTW
£20/£40 petrol
30/30 donations/declutter
Hugs and positive thoughts to all those who need them, and those who don't.

Fmess there is a thread on one of the boards called something like 'is this reasonable' where you can put details of what you have been quoted and people in the trade will comment. Not sure where I saw it, maybe 'in your home' board x:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0

Morning,
Spend day today as had to purchase a Mother's Day card on behalf of DH who always forgets, grrrrrr!
Off to toddler group with DS after doing some banking, taking back an item to boots that was wrong. Washings out on the line and there's more bread to be baked today.
Happy days everyone!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Morning all. A lovely sunny day today. Walked the kids to school then walked home and fitted the bike carrier to my car and drove to the cycle path. Cycled for half and hour then home. All in all it was too time consuming as the carrier took ages to fit on the car and I broke 2 fingernails quite badly. Tomorrow I will just take the bike to school and go straight from there.
Today will be a spend day as the grocery shop is being delivered, we are well under budget though and start a new month on Wednesday for groceries. The difference will be added to this weeks credit card payment.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hi Torties... look at the SILENCE on the board!! I am a little worried about those not checking in and might make it a daily request for next months challenge which will be VERY different from other months.
I have relented and purchased a MacBook Air. It has cost me £1142 with an upgraded RAM for those in the know and a 2 year extended warranty. I am making charts as to what else I need to buy and how much money I I will have by the end of it.
It will see me through a good few years I know that much! GULP!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0
