Oh wow mrsGSR!! I obviously haven't had any kids so have no clue how it works but the movies have a lot to answer for (mainly father of the bride to be honest).
    :o

Hey NSK. We are only going for a couple of nights. Saturday 26th - Tuesday 29th April. But our anniversary is on the 28th (hence why the dates are weird). I have never been to Barcelona before and the OH went many years ago and quite can't remember anything (i think alcohol might have been involved) so we are both really excited.
Can't believe we are taking the next step. I have been waiting for ages (we bought the over two years ago).
    :D

I have a renewed excitement over getting rid of the credit card debt... although you still won't be rid of me. After the credit card is gone, we are going to be saving hard for the next step. I am so happy just now it is unreal. It's pretty much polar opposites from where I was this time last year.
    :undecided

Feels pretty good to be me right now. Fingers crossed this diet thing works and I get down to my ideal weight. (BMI is a lie. there is no way I would suit being 8st 7lbs).
Even if I can lose a couple of stone before June, it would be awesome. Just have to remain positive, should be pretty easy given the current situation.
Just need april 28th to hurry the hell up!!!!

  • I got a job!! Can finally say after 6 years of uni that I definitely have a means of starting to pay back my student loan. Will be a massive upheaval to move to where my job is, but plenty of time to prepare and so thankful that everything has worked out ok! So off to the pub to celebrate (there is a budget for this, I was prepared :p)

Not a SFD anyway as had to pay ebay postage and book hotel/trains for a trip in May, but all will be reimbursed at some stage.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Still no baby. Hate waiting. Saw the doctor this morning and it isn't a chest infection, actually started feeling better today.

I'm not one for sitting on the couch for long unless I'm really ill. Today I planted my Kohlrabi seedlings out, made more soup, made Nigella's banana and chocolate muffins and the usual chores. SFD again today as my card is still blocked anyway.

Tomorrow I'll see my old boss and colleagues (not worked there for 3years but still stay in contact) for tea and muffins. And then I'll finally tackle my wardrobes.

    Congratulations SarahB!!!!

Thanks :) Haha not quite as much of an upheaval as you're planning, but will be moving 550 miles from where I am now, pretty much from one end of the UK to the other. I can't quite get my head around how my entire life's possessions are going to fit in a small hire car...

Congratulations SarahB1989 – well done you! And a big move too – brand new start!

And, how exciting NSK, a leaving date for Moggy set… and your future to look forward to! (ps how did you make the katsu curry? - I love that dish!)

So, all we need now is to hear baby thrifty is making an appearance some time soon! I am in awe of how much you are doing in these last few days Thrifty! And I am glad you are feeling a bit better..

Not much doing here. Very tired after first day back to work, but nothing to disastrous happened in my absence it seems… phew.

No exercise as too tired today, and spends as bought cat nip to make big cat happy and a new collar to make small cat look smart (she has chewed her other one up but has stopped chewing it now so got a shiny new one for her)

DH seems to be spending much of his time looking at houses to buy at the moment and is really getting into the idea, despite it being a good few years off yet. He has an interview for a job on Friday which might mean a pay rise for him, which would be great!

Right, off to snooze on the sofa till bedtime.

:j:j:j Congratulations SarahB!!! :j:j:j What a weight off your shoulders it must be!

Dd's dietician appointment went well. We had a lovely lady who was so positive about what we're doing, and didn't give us any of the 'you should/ought/must...' malarky I'd expected. It turns out that we should have been having three-monthly appointments since dd's diagnosis last feb. Oh well! At least we're there now.

Tomorrow is my food shopping day, a day I look forward to immensely! When we were kids, my sister and I used to go to the markets with dad, either every month or fortnightly. We'd have to go round all the veg stalls first for dad to price up the cheapest, then we'd return to them and buy what was best price from each one. Same for fruit. Then back to drop those bags back at the car and on to the next round. And we always finished at the bread and cake place and I always had a mille feuille/ cream slice thing. Yum! Anyhow, my sister now hates food shopping with a passion, whereas I adore it! I can probably tell you the price of most things I buy, and how much they cost elsewhere too. Thank you daddy!

Due to our late start today, I cleaned and sorted another shelf in a kitchen cupboard. Just how many licorice and fennel teabags does a sane person need?? They're prob only good for composting so will help them there tomorrow. May tackle the flours and starches next - if I've not used them in the last 5 years, then maybe I won't ever use them, eh? Maybe... Tho will check recipes first!

I missed the England rugby match on sunday, but we videoed it, so I hope to watch that tomorrow. Have managed to avoid the score - phew!

Haha stewby, father of the bride is not the most accurate picture of late pregnancy :rotfl: although I do relate to the being boiling hot and everyone else is freezing cold, I was sat in a vest top and baggy trousers in January and DH was in jumpers and blankets :rotfl:

Re weight loss, I completely agree about BMI, according to some chart I should be a stone lighter but I'm 5' 9" and a size 10, any smaller and I'd disappear! stupid chart! Feeling good in your self is much more important than a number. I yoyoed for years until I start weight watchers and now I'm happy with me. Sounds like 5:2 is working for you :)

SarahB, well done on the job! What a relief that must be for you after so many years of study.

Thrifty, it's so exciting, have you got to the daggers up the bits stage now? I found it REALLY bad second time! Looking forward to hearing of your little lady's arrival soon and hope you don't go too over.

Apple Muncher, glad all went well for your DD.

It's only the 10th day and I have £6.50 in personal spends left £50 in my account, all bills paid and I'm in that limbo stage argh! 15 days till pay day!

    Hi All

Another SFD and LTW today so still on target :j

Not actually managed any declutter yet this month but hope to start soon. Suffering quite badly with fatigue at the moment. This is unfortunately one of the symptoms of a condition I suffer from. I usually manage to handle it quite well but missed some of the warning signs this time. I think the nice weather over the weekend played. Little trick on me

Never mind I will get over it and I always like to look on the positive side of things. I am a lot better off than many people with the same condition as me.

Going to try to go to sleep again now as I'm sitting here in bed yawning my head off.

    Nite all, see you tomorrow

Congratulations on the job SarahB. Out of interest can you tell us which region your new home will be in? If you don't want to don't worry, I'm just trying to imagine if you will be living on the tip of Cornwall or maybe the Isle of Skye...

Today has been a spend day as it was OHs and my 7 year anniversary :) (not that we're married). So I treated him to a pub dinner but was very MSE as our favourite local does £5 dinners on a Monday :) Might also have bought a chocolate bar thus evening but am determined to get back on The Skinny Rules tomorrow and lose this second stone.

Not much else to report so I'm off to sleep, night all
