    Afternoon all,

Early check in for me as I am off out this evening for my one night out of the month. I have budgeted £50 but OH borrowed £5 so the budget is now £45.

Spend day today due to the evening out so I have also done the food shop this morning, bought supplies for school and tutoring and got a new feeder for the youngest dog as he has outgrown his now. I have also stocked the fridge with eggs and bacon, just in case I have a hangover tomorrow ;)

Productive day in the house too. OH lay in until lunchtime which prevented me from hoovering so I decluttered the kitchen, emptied all cupboards apart from one, and cleared out the 'man drawer'. I have also decluttered a few more books from upstairs and now have bags and boxes to go to various family members and different charity shops :)

Hope you all have a lovely evening

    Evening all,
This is so not a good month for me and its only the 8th :wall: feel like crying. I know that will get me no where so head up and carry on hopefully. At least know April will be better bec just have one trip to Lego land and have money put aside for that and its two weeks holiday so won't be spending as will be at home. On a positive note £3000 has been wiped from partners debt as divorce goes through his father has wrote off his ex's part of debt bec she won't pay and he's paying his share. :j

Having a little trouble assessing just where I am up to with this challenge.
Food £76.35/£110 -not great but plenty of food in, lots all ready packed up and frozen in one person portions. May need to re-think this, I think (because of past problems) that when the food level in the house drops below a certain level, I go into panic mode. I have a list of all the cooked meals in the freezer but the cupboards start to look bare and the anxiety creeps up. Know it's there, may take a few months to tackle it. Also for the past 2 months I have effectively 'stocked up' for the coming month in the last week of the previous month - trade off between prudent housekeeping (freezer most efficient when 75% full?) and just in time -use up before buying more.

Travel £15.10/£25 - good (£11.60 was last month's overspend which I carried forward). Hopefully I can reduce this in the coming months but feel more comfortable having the option of hopping on the bus when the rucksack is full - messed up my sleep pattern again last week (having spent weeks getting it right) and feel red-eyed and weary ever since.

Food spending this week was on Monday (continued on to SM after exercise class then caught bus home at10.05 pm) and Wednesday (appointment at hospital, collect repeat prescription, continue to library with book and charity donation, then planned shop at S'bugs using nectar points - unfortunately doc visit was extended, then asked at library for information about groups who could use other items I want to de-clutter, acquired 4 more library books, went somewhere else for more group information and staggered into little A*d* (ex-netto) and onto bus. At least the savings on the YS aubergines covered the cost of the bus fare, but I had been out of the house 2 hours longer than expected (and then walked back later for an urgent diy item.

De-cluttering - 3/30.One for paperwork -this should be under control as I went through all the major files last year but I have managed to find a further 5 waste paper bins full this week (maybe because the bits I am finding now are so ancient that I really don't have to trawl through them), so that is the standard measurement 5 baskets = 1 declutter point (and I will track down as much as I can).

The other de-clutter point is for recyclables.Several baskets again (I keep a basket by the sink and rinse all the cans/ bottles/yoghurt pots whilst running the washing up water -don't normally count these but am claiming one for the used up bottles of cleaning materials as these represent many hours of work -kitchen and bathroom are now sparkling (+ made new cupboard shelf by joining 2 wall cupboard shelves) and all specks of paint I missed the first 6 times have been erased from the kitchen worktops/ tiles/ found one on side of control for gas hob (bathroom still being sanded in preparation).

I meant to talk about the ups and downs of the past few days (finally feeling creeping optimism) but this post is way too long and I want to get up early to mop floors and scrub paths before the real work begins so I will leave that until tomorrow - need to start another list so I don't forget anything.

    Sweet dreams everyone.:A

    Evening/morning

Felt the need to pop on as just got back from my evening out. Took £45 with me to cover drinks, taxis and donation (was attending a charity betting night). However, I won back nearly all my spends, barely drank as didn't feel in the mood so then I drove a friend's car home and dropped them off on the way (they took us but had drank) :) So the whole evening cost me £4!!!!

I feel a little guilty for winning my money back however I had already paid £25 towards the charity to attend so I guess that's not too bad?

Morning all. So nice to wake up to sunshine again today :D hope everyone else is having some nicer weather as well. I think it is so much easier to be more frugal when the weather is nice, not so tempted to drive journeys you can do on foot and also much less temptation to spend on "entertainment" when you can be outdoors pottering and getting some vitamin d.

That said today isn't going to be SF, we are taking the boys to a local country park and will need to pay for parking and will buy ice creams. We will however take a packed lunch and a flask so as a planned spendy outing the damage won't be too bad.

Need to prep this evenings roast before we go or getting back to do IIT will feel like leaving early. Don't need any food shopping and shouldn't until Friday hopefully, do need to get two bits to finish birthday presents I am making at some point this week so that will be one SD but not sure when I'll have time.

    Have a lovely Sunday all.
