    morning all,

yest was a spendy day as did food shop and bought new printer and ink. old one broke during week and i really need one for mystery shopping. set it up and its wireless and it wont print  not sure why so have uninstalled it and will try again using the lead. would prefer it wireless but will settle for it working! decided only going to use genuine cartridges for it as think thats what broke my old one. they are only £10 on amazon so not too bad.

have got 8 mystery shops to do today which will net me £87 and did 3 last night for £28 :T that takes my total for done/booked in march to £169 :j unfortunately quite a few companies seem to be paying a bit later than they used to so most of it wont be paid til april.

means i REALLY need to get the printer sorted right now or i will have to write them all out today :( luckily i am doing the same job in two branches for 2 of them which cuts down the copying out as can use different pens for different branches.

aiming for sfd today as going to take a packed lunch with me and will be walking in. only spends will be on four of the jobs as need to make a small purchase but not counting that as a spend as need to do it to get paid!

    Morning all, happy weekend :T

Enjoying a slow start to my day, have been downstairs to get the boys breakfast and make a cup of tea but am back in bed reading on the forum and planning what I need to get on with in a minute.

Hubby should be home round midday (he left at about 6 this morning, poor thing) and before then I need to do a shopping list, purchase the things on said list, make a picnic, make the dough for tonight's pizza and have a general tidy round, really need to get going in a second.

My right leg seems to be making some kind of protest about the fact I have asked it to run 30 miles in the last week but hopefully it will be over it by tomorrow when I'll be asking it to do a few more. I am a running adict because it lifts my mood and outlook so much. I also use it as one of my main social activities, running with a local club one a week, my mum once a week and hubby some weeks too (he has every other Friday off work and I work a half day from home on a Friday which gives us a couple of hours free time a fortnight without the children). My eldest son is 8 and seems to be catching the running bug, he does cross country club after school on a Friday and is currently very keen to do a park run, he has quite bad asthma (been through a&e resuss with him a dozen times and admitted to hospital 50+ in his short life)so I do worry about him pushing himself too hard but also try not to let his asthma stop him from doing anything it doesn't absolutely have to.

Right, am now back downstairs and really need to get on to give me any chance of getting all the the things I need to done.

Today will be a spendy day. We have bought DD a bike on ebay for the princely sum of £10 and DH is going to collect that . We will be going into town and I need some Evening Primrose Oil but hope to use Boots points for them and DH and the kids are getting something for my birthday tomorrow, they have a budget of £10 and are only bothering because the kids (well DD) like to choose birthday presents for us.

I will hopefully be collecting my free pizza from Sainsburys and need to pick up a pack of tortilla chips to go with tea.

Have a lovely day all, hope this sun we have been promised puts in an appearance soon.

    Hello everyone :hello:

hope you are all having a nice weekend, i am more jolly than usual as i am on holiday from work now until the 18th March :)

Yesterday was a SFD .. thursday was a spendy one, however our 2nd car passed it's mot and we have managed to work our finances to ensure we will not go overdrawn this month so we are very pleased. :j:j:j

Me and OH have talked about the house move and have decided to put it on hold as this is the first time in years we have been in a good position with Finances and have got some money aside to pay what we owe, once the £3000 is paid we are going to overpay on the car to get the finance paid off quicker.

Also got my food bank donation ready and took some items from the kitchen to give away also . Next week i am spring cleaning so hope to declutter then :)

Anyway i am rambling on today, hope to go to a local nature park and have a walk and mabye a cheeky pub lunch (budgeted for) as i have decided i don't want to go out tonight on the town ... it's offical i am getting OLD !!! :o

Have a good one will check in tomorrow

    Hey there all

Well, still doing very badly on the SFDs, as expected due to all that’s going on this month, but doing better with exercise. Was out last night, on an event I had to go to, but managed to spend only £5 not the £20 I had predicted, and had a jolly nice night too…

Lots of family trauma going on atm which is stressful, but managing to still keep a grip on finances so far, and hoping to pull some money back onto debt this month. I have a total in my head I want to pay off, but I think it’s asking too much, but here’s to hoping!

Planning a mostly lazy weekend, but have to do the food shop today so that knocks out the chance of another sfd. Hoping tomorrow will get me up to 3! Back to work next week so things should settle down for a bit – at least to the weekend when I then have a friend coming to visit, so more spends predicted then! I think this month should be the Mad March write off!

A very spendy morning! £500 odd on getting the car sorted out, but that is full service, MOT, 4 new tyres, new filters, spark plugs, all sorts. I thought it wasn't driving well! I am just incredibly grateful to learn my car has a timing chain, not a belt, so that doesn't wear as a belt does so doesn't need replacing every 30,000 miles. That would have been another £300-£400 on the bill!

The garage owner showed me the old pollen filter with the words "you could grow spuds in that" !!! :rotfl:(but a little bit  )

A lot of this stuff should have been done by Ha!fords last year. Not going to them again methinks!

Still, £500 is a lot of money and because of it I won't make any headway into the debt this month, but I am working to keep other spending to a minimum and so not increase the total owing too much.

So in that spirit I walked into town from the garage (I have walked about 7 miles today in all... having a lie down now :rotfl:), got a book out of the library to read, the wool shop have stopped stocking the yarn I was after so I couldn't buy that (slightly problematic for the project I was doing, but I'll have to think of another way around that), I stocked up on 3 for 2 vitamins and bought them on my boots points. I did go to Mr W's to buy cards as they usually have nice ones and are actually cheaper than smith's. Anyway, picked up my free paper there which gave me something to read with my free N3ro's coffee. And yes, I did have large mocha with whipped cream and everything! :D Ooh, also got to do some product tasting - some ladies were doing market research, so I had a little snack of bits of caramel wafers and cereal bars for nowt too! :T

Running totals excluding the garage bill:

    SFDs 3/15
Groceries £24.04/£80 (might have also spent 69p on doughnuts in Mr W's. This was before the product tasting though)
    Entertainment & Miscellaneous £20.10/£90
Petrol £102.86/£200 (this budget might have been set a bit low... but I have been to visit OH's parents, and to that other site, and the car might even be a bit more economical now it is working properly!)

Have been into town today and spent as predicted but not much. I got my Body Shop birthday gift and just had to top up 40p in cash, I got my free latte and muffin in Costa, free pizza from Sainsburys - now stashed in the freezer, DH got my birthday present and went over budget by 50p. I also got finger rolls so we could have hotdogs for lunch and tortilla chips for tea later.

The kids wanted to get very expensive books and use their WBD tokens to get a £1 off, I suggested they wait and check the library when we got home. DS couldn't get his from the library (both books have just come out) so will be having a think about whether he wants to spend £7 but the library did have the one DD wanted so we rang them and asked them to hold it and we cycled the 5 mile round trip together to pick it up - her on her fantastic £10 bike - oh happy days.

what a bargain bike dolly :)

lots of walking and cycling going on to save fuel :j

so im back from my marathon mystery shopping day. unfortunately i will need to cancel one job as i had two jobs to the same shop for different companies and unfortunately i realised the sceanarios were not compatible so had to cancel one. just got to do all the reports now which is the bit i hate :(

cant claim sfd as i treated myself to a meal deal from boots for lunch :o

have been playing with figures and after wage, rent and the planned £40 reduction in my spending money i will be £151 short to repay the £790 by end of month. reckon i should be due at least £42 in mystery shop payments but could be more. so that is £109 to find. have got cashback tracked but also seems to be taking ages to track. not really got anything i can sell.

will have to see how it goes but may be a few more weeks till im debt free. i could 'borrow' the money from my annual expenses account but that seems a bit pointless as i will just then owe to myself!

going for a swim soon :)

    !

We had to buy a new printer last week clippy girl and I'm convinced the last one broke due to non genuine ink cartridges. I was never happy with the last one as it never scanned properly or printed properly really AND it was meant to be wireless but wasn't! So like you I'm planning on just buying the genuine ones from now on. I'm' really pleased with our new one as it prints from all our devices which is good as our laptop is ancient and very slow.

How are you getting on with MS? I used to do them myself until it got to the point that I wasn't even breaking even as I would have to factor in petrol and then there were barely any coming up in my area.

pops my head in for a quick catch up

SD today. My TV has been playing up for ages, taking about twenty minutes to turn on, every time. I was going to wait until I moved to get a new one because it made sense.

However, at the moment my company (a well known supermarket if you haven't already figured that out) are giving 15% discount. It was an opportunity not to be missed so off I trotted to a mega store and bought myself a replacement. the 15% couldn't be missed because it saved me over £50.
Got a little bit of shopping too, cheese, beer, herbs and my mom's birthday present. Sadly, the only thing I really needed, I forgot. Diet Lemonade! I use it with squash and at the moment to take the edge off cranberry juice. I've got about a quarter of a bottle left so I'm going to see how long I can take 'straight' cranberry juice before I crumble. I buy the basic so it's only £0.19 a bottle, but it's still a SFD to ruin.

Supposed to be on holiday at the moment but due to sickness I had to go in yesterday and waiting to find out if I have to go in tomorrow. Cross your fingers please folks, I really don't want to go in!!!
