Bossy - suggest your Mum might want to check again?

I had a forecast from DWP that said I had 30 years in - but I will now need 35 to qualify because I won't get SRP until I am 66.

I ended up having to send off to HMRC to get a full statement of NI Conts and think I have 42 years because of Home Responsibilities Protection for when I didn't earn when DS little All I can think for the other 2 years is that I must have paid a stamp for my Saturday job in M*thercare age 16 to 18 when I was doing A Levels!!!
    The link is http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/ni/intro/check-record.htm

It is so important and it does take some time for them to check.

Thanks. It might be easier if I just look at her forecast :o I've looked all over hmrc and I can't find reference to this 35yrs anywhere!

Anyway, she will be working again soon!

I made veg curry and some chicken in the end which was lovely. Kiddies were full of beans after going back to school, we had some sillies tonight which ended in tears but I managed to calm them down before bedtime.

So I'm going to sort my packup then go for a shower!

ETA ahh I can see now its to do with the single tier pension changes - wonder if her forecast then is before this, has it actually been agreed in parliament yet? Not that it matters. They'll squeeze it in one way or another...

LOL - yes I'd not thought of it that way!
  • Evening all.

I tried to keep up last week, but with a very poorly ds and then dd's birthday, and dh being off work, everything went to pot.

I am working on this week though, but my basic cleaning will take a lot more than the basic time:o

    Today I have..
    DWx1
    WMx3
    Airerx2
    TDx1
Got all kids off to school.
Took ds to doctors, fetched his antibiotic and dropped back at school.
    A quick coffee.
Fetched dd's from school and took them for asthma reviews and lunch and back to school.
Did a freezer shop (and realised 2 hours later I hadn't shut the door properly!).

Hall, stairs and landing have been cleared and hovered, all coats have been sorted, except ones being worn, and ready to go up to wardrobes tomorrow. Shoe rack sorted, a whole bin liner for the bin, a bag for charity and I've only left, slippers and school shoes on there, everything else (a whole black sack full) has gone up to rooms to go in wardrobes. They drive me mad being all over the floor so at least they are now sorted.

Fetched them home, done dinner and got them all in bed, now I'm too tired for anything else so catching up on soaps.

Deco - well done - I forget if you are as old as us perimeno gang (apologies if you are not) but it can make anxiety worse.

YL - is he refusing because it is a tunnel? My cousin had an open one I think - good luck

Still battling the paperwork but I have done all I need to for tomorrow.

Just going to put the list up, read one more document and so to bed.

Sammiell I'm very sorry to hear your Dad's diagnosis. It is also in my extended family.

I have M&S vests that my DD refuses to wear (she's a hot bod) I'll have a look at the sizes in the morning if anyone wants them.

I've been a taxi today. I'm worn out from driving. Flying did not happen beyond a couple of washes through the WM and TD.

Bossy, yes it has been agreed.

The internet shows only the years needed for SRP now - and the forecast letters that were sent out were the same - they did not take account of when you are due to receive it. So if your mum's forecast is from some time ago may be best to get another?
I only queried my record with HMRC as I was sure I should have had more credits - but it was worth it. Remember Home Responsibilities protection if your mum stayed at home to look after any children whilst she was receiving child benefit for them.

Up early as have something on my mind - slept at odd hours yesterday as was so tired after last week. Hope to get some flying done today - only managed two washer loads and loading dishwasher yesterday! I must get our finances sorted too as it's payday on Friday and no idea where we are at with it all:eek:
Have a good day everyone. xx

ETA YL - perhaps idea to ring up for advice re MRI scan? - they can play music through the speakers, blow air down the tunnel and must have other things for children that they can suggest? They are not pleasant - especially the mobile tunnels and I know as I've had two.

Morning everyone, I'm up super early as I'm not sleeping well at the moment. I have the day off work though so hopefully can take it easy with some sporadic flying.

I didn't get a huge amount done yesterday but did manage food shop, hoovering and washing. My updated list:

Monday - Hall, Stairs, Landing and study/Family Room or similar
    Basic Flying

    Dust any fluffy surfaces
    Decluttering
Sort out that pile of papers/magazines/catalogues and recylce what you can
Delete some emails, favourites, blurry photos you choose
Sort out a stationery or desk drawer - do you need all those rubber bands and envelopes

Tuesday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Basic Flying

Sweep and mop the floor - could't let the mop brigade down
    Clear and wipe table
Wipe the work tops, remove all things which don't belong here
Clean the sink, drainer and taps
    Deep Cleaning
Clean the extractor hood and splashback
Clean the hob, under all the dials too
    Decluttering
    Sort out a hotspot
Charge that epilady or warm your wax, it's time to declutter your winter fur. Alternatively trim and paint your trotters.

  • Morning everyone

Wish I didnt have to go to work today, there is so much I could be doing at home!

With the MRI scan, he has to drink a preparation before it. Because of his illness he feels sick a lot anyway and he really struggled with it last time. There is no real way of getting around this, I am hoping that bribery works and have said we will take him to the shops and buy him something afterwards!! Any suggestions welcome though.

Oh and Deco I used to go to an aerobics class where a bloke started turning up. He was in his 50s and had tried lots of other ways of getting fit so he thought he would give aerobics a go. We all thought he was very brave and he was really nice, no-one minded him being there at all.

Must remember to put the bags of paper for the recycling in the car this morning!

    Have a good day everyone.
