I need your help - kicks, words of encouragement etc I have started to feel anxious again (very occasionally I get breathless) and have found a local martial arts centre that teaches meditation. I've emailed them today and there is spaces but I'm nervous about going. I've got no-one I can ask to go with me so that's not an option. It would do me good to get out and also help switch off which I've not been able to do for a long time.

Give it a go - at least if you don't feel it is for you, you will have tried and won't always wonder "what if". My mum has been doing meditation for a while and it really calms her down and helps her to think in more 'grounded' ways. I'm sure it will be difficult to walk through the doorway the first time, but others will no doubt be anxious too. Can you visit the centre beforehand and perhaps ask if you can look around, see the room - you may find someone who can reassure you or at least you will have a familiar face.

    Afternoon all

Early post seems to have disappeared into the yonder between my PC and your screens - no matter.

Hugs all round especially to CY, Yorkshirelass (hope the appointment went well) and Mumto2

Today has been mainly bed stripping, food shopping and Governor paperwork which I'm still working on. Going to have a HH break to tidy the kitchen for now.

    Hello all

Been observed by some linky liaison school bod (from on high) and it went well...Valli's strategies singled out for high praise.

Chair of Governors has been the recipient of Valli's wisdom and opinion;) seed planted;)

    Glad the excel was sorted.

I had an office job once - sitting at a computer, drinking coffee to my heart's content *sighs*

Anyway had a hug on the playground - turns out I know the bikeability lady (from toddlers - so WAY back) - someone I liked and respected and it was good to see her again!

Thanks for heads up on vests..I tried some on her in MrTs..I needed 7/8 for length but that made them huge on her shoulders,Will check M@S during the week ,thanks Pigpen xx

well didnt get all list done but have chewed a huge to me frog,my hallway has been cluttered with an ever growing heap of toys so bad I hated opening the front door...One trip to Ikea later and I have a wide bookcase with 8 baskets and 2 slim shelves,,,baskets ideal for toys and have put games, jigsaws on slimmer shelves, the difference is unbelievable...OH is going to screw a coatrail to side so LOs can hang their own coats up too, previously these were just slung on stairs.
No longer am I worried about opening door it is so lovely and organised.

Have sorted through half the toys, rest will be done tomorrow and have disposed of a basket full already.

Oh has fitted a new home hub so hopfully internet will be even better now.

Hoping to get a food shop done tomoorw and more in the toy sorting too.

Brilliant, thank you. She seems to think she's got the full so I'm assuming it must have been 35+ but I'll let her know. She's another 7yrs yet and in theory will be earning again soon.

Bossy - suggest your Mum might want to check again?

I had a forecast from DWP that said I had 30 years in - but I will now need 35 to qualify because I won't get SRP until I am 66.

I ended up having to send off to HMRC to get a full statement of NI Conts and think I have 42 years because of Home Responsibilities Protection for when I didn't earn when DS little All I can think for the other 2 years is that I must have paid a stamp for my Saturday job in M*thercare age 16 to 18 when I was doing A Levels!!!
    The link is http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/ni/intro/check-record.htm

It is so important and it does take some time for them to check.

Back on track sort of today - just done some decluttering - of washing from last week's trip and DS bedding. Also been deleting emails. Keep getting low disk space error on this laptop. Must download some pictures to disk tomorrow - after sorting that is!!!

Have a lovely evening everyone. xx

  • Hi all

Just spent over 2 hours filing and shredding. Once I got started I didnt want to stop! Will take the paper to the recycling place tomorrow on my way home from work.

Will catch up on the other stuff tomorrow.

Thank for the good wishes Dusty, appointment went well actually. The lovely consultant who has looked after DS1 for the last 5 years is retiring. He is really skilled at his job and really listens to you, rather than just making decisions based on blood test results and the like.

DS1 is currently refusing to have the MRI scan thats been booked in 3 weeks time. Not quite sure how to handle this at the moment.

Anyhow, glad you got a bit of praise there Valli, sounds to me like you deserve it. And Mumof2, sounds a bit scary, hope you have got over it now.

And Deco, I have never managed to 100% beat my anxiety. Its always there lurking in the background somewhere. I suppose the big difference is that it doesnt scare me any more - 90% of the time I can deal with it. Good luck with the meditation.

Off to get jim jams on. This working for a living stuff really takes it out of you doesnt it??
