You've all got me panicking now -- maybe I transposed some numbers in the meter readings and we're actually using more  Although to be fair, the heating is only on for three hours a day here -- one in the morning for when DH gets up, then 6-7 and 8-9pm. We're not that hardy, just in a ground floor flat which retains heat well. Only once in the past 12 months have I put it on during the day -- I spend a lot of time in my dressing gown
I have tidied, vacuumed, ironed, washed, folded, WUDUPA and food shopped. I need a MUCH bigger fridge0 -

OH does the negotiating with power suppliers and changes regularly. We're about £160 a month combined gas and electricity, which is about as low as we can manage for the size of house and number of people. I try to keep the oven use to minimal, don't tumble dry unless I absolutely have to, hence the constant whinging about rain.
We bought the chalet in 2008 and the electricity bill there was £3 a month; it's now £16.50 a month because of the exhoribant standing charge. Over to OH I think.Just had a shock. I rang police as we haven't heard Mr Boarded up neighbour for a while. They came and broke in and have told me he has passed away.
(((Hugs))) Dancemum. What a horrible shock. Good on you for being the good neighbour who took action; it's always desperately sad when you hear about people not being found for a long time.
 Hi Fraggleanne!
Also (((hugs))) for you and your friend who visited yesterday, Dusty.
Huge congratulations MummyRoysof3!
Scoffy vibes for Miss Moo.
Struggling with flying this week, but nibbling away at it in my normal slapdash way. Director R is coming back next week for three nights so my office needs to be sparkly for him. Bookshelf dusting will have to occur because they haven't been done since before he arrived last July. I hate dusting bookshelves.Better is good enough.0 -
hope everyone has a good weekend
bossy enjoy your night out

I do hope not - I would never think less of kids whose mum wasn't able to come in and help anymore than I would think more of kids whose parents were helping/on committees etc
Beds stripped; tea made and scoffed, took DD to work and did my shopping (she had written a list) while I was there (two birds and all that).
I'm paying £102 atm per month for a dual fuel deal (just dropped from £120). I am using a WM, DW and TD regularly BUT I have an Economy 7 tarrif and make a massive effort to use electricity for the above-mentioned appliances at night.
I did let the monthy meter readings slip and it went up to £188 a month at one point - now I read the meters religiously (ie I pray they've hardly moved;))Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

My gas is about £120 and electric around £100 per month
The school I removed my girls from did not allow parents to go in for anything and if tey wanted to go listen to readers they had to be crb checked.. needless to say they ended up with no one and in turn the younger children were not heard reading more than once a week and the books weren't changed until the teacher had heard them read even if they had read it 100 times at home!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I'm not saying it doesn't happen: I would just hope that it never does. I didn't want Bossy to feel obliged, that's all.
Your opinion on it is no less valid than mine, don't apologise!
All parents (or anyone) helping in ours have to be DBS checked too; I *think* the school pays for the check though.
(DBS is the new name for CRB - it's now called the Disclosure and Barring Service so I assume the onus is on folks to 'fess up. Not seen any paperwork yet as I haven't had to re-apply so I don't know)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

our school pay for govs and parent helper crbs, we havent had to renew to DBS yet, but DD3 who works in a nursery has one of those i meant to ask her what the difference is. I think it is for the person not the job so where if you do different things in different schools you needed more than one crb i 'think' this covers you for all.SPC~12 ot 124

I knew they'd changed the name but couldn't remember what it was so would have looked a twerp getting the letters all wrong.. quite sensible they cover the person not the job now thoughLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
