Yesterday I rang up about ppi from my previous mortgage. That felt good after procrastinating for long enough! They weren't able to tell me over the phone if ppi had been sold to me, I do remember saying 'no' so I will be shocked if it has been, but they were able to take the details over the phone and now I just need to wait for confirmation in 2 weeks and then a final decision in 8 weeks. I feel better knowing that I've checked it out. At least it's now been scored off my 'to do' list.

You never know - DH was sure that he wouldn't get PPI back because he knew what it was/why he wanted it when he got it, but they awarded it anyway. Perhaps you're remembering declining something else.

Thanks hiddenshadow. I can stay hopeful that there might be some cash around for me.
My last monthly CC ppayment has still not cleared so the debt is still above 12k. I haven't sold my thing yet and I really need to, soon. No word from the ppi people but I didn't expect that yet.
I'm really just waiting for payday next Thursday to start all the budgetting all over again.
At least Spring seems to have arrived. It's beautifully sunny up here today. Makes a lovely change.
Happy debt busting.

I've just updated my total to show the final monthly payment from this month and I'm under £12k.
I'm well pleased with that!

Thanks for all your congratulations, you lovely people. :A I am still basking in the warm glow of a milestone achieved, and the debt continuing to go in the right direction.
Another couple of payments have gone through so I've adjusted my signature accordingly.
I heard back about the ppi and unfortunately I have nothing to claim. Ah well, I'll let it lie now.
I still haven't sold or even advertised my item. I need to do this, wonder why I'm procrastinating?
I am back to spending lots on coffee and snacks while I am working out of the office in the afternoons. This has to stop again. My plan is to post on here daily, confessing my spends, which will hopefully stop me doing it in the first place. And posting most days seems to work for misstara so I'll give it a go.
I am about to go on an all expenses paid weekend break. Of course, I still have to pay 1) cattery fees 2) car hire to get the cat to and from the cattery 3) spending money 4) summer clothes as when I dug out the old ones, some really needed the bin 5) travel to and from the airport. I don't grudge this one bit; a break is exactly what I need right now. But I could probably live without all these costs.
So there is just about enough money in the budget to cover everything this month. I haven't managed an overpayment to the debt though and I'm a bit disappointed about that. Maybe I'll have some cash left at the end of the month. :rotfl: God I'm funny sometimes.
Best of luck with the debt busting everyone. xxIf you know you have enough, you're rich.

Another regular payment has gone out so I've adjusted my signature.

I've done some sums and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make a big overpayment at the end of this month. If June goes according to plan, then I'm aiming for the debt to go below £11k. It's getting quite exciting, all this.
I managed not to spend anything on coffee and snacks when I was out of the office yesterday. I have the same challenge today and am hopeful I can do it.
OH just got a big pay rise yesterday. We joined our finances recently and although this rise was expected, we are both very excited about it.
Happy debt busting everyone. If you know you have enough, you're rich.

11k that quickly would be amazing.

Congrats on the pay rise, and well done on resisting coffee/snacks.0 -

:rotfl: I've totally lost the plot with the food budget this month but it usually keeps me in check.
Congratulations on OH's pay rise and on the overpayment
