Anyone know the cheapest place to get carrots (even in bulk)? I think that morrisons has a 3kg for £1.50, which is 50p per kilo, but I'm going through a kilo every two days with my juicing veg and fruit.

I'd b tempted to go to the market and chat up one of the veggie stall holders there ;)

Oh Penny grabber - I might do bacon and garlic pasta for me, or I might just do cheese on toast! Ooh, of I could use up something from the fridge... Too many choices!!!
I'm still at work and now I feel starving !! :( Don't know if it was the bacon or the cheese on toast but I'm drooling over the keyboard now :rotfl:

    NSD today :j

Hope you all have a thrifty Thursday

If their prices weren't 3x 'normal' price, I'd try. Ended up going to morrisons and bought 6 kg of carrots (as well as bags and bags of tangerines, 2 packs of nectarines, and lots of other little bits on markdown).

Have come up with a decent idea for what to do with some of the pulp from my juicer. Add a spoonful of it to my oatmeal in the morning! Any pure carrot pulp I make will go into a container in the freezer to make carrot cake with. :)

Haven't updated my signature yet, but will try to update it tomorrow.

I know carrots are healthy but be careful you don't eat too many. You can become addicted and turn orange - well kind of yellowy orange. You think I'm kidding -well have a look yourself

Don't worry, I don't like them *that* much! I'm juicing 1-2 per glass of juice, and it's mixed with other stuff. I typically only have 2 maybe 3 small glasses of juice per day, and my smoothies don't have carrots in them. :)

Will be a NSD today. Although, cheekily, haven't added my French market blip to my sig.

Already getting bored of "using up" so will get some nice fresh produce next week and try and incorporate store cupboard stocks into some nice recipes. Mushroom risotto in the slow cooker today - a bit of an experiment, so we will see how it goes!
