    Hi everyone!

I've had a few spends this week, but they are outside of my Grocery Budget.

So far this week (From Saturday) I have spent £11.96 out of my allocated £40.
    2024 Challenges
    • Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)
    • Decluttering (Underway!)
    • Frugal Living (January £0/£500

This week's spends have taken me up to £116.47 for the month so far, it's only the 6th May
Spent £25.24 in Mr A's at the weekend on Fruit and Veg...don't know about anyone else but I find it cheaper and a better organic selection than Mr T...?
Have been trying really hard to meal plan and use up what we have in the freezer/dried goods cupboard which will hopefully limit bits and bobs spends.
This is my first month on the challenge and it's really helping me think a lot harder about what we're spending at the supermarket. Very tempting to just spend and not think about it until the end of the month isn't it? haha

Spent some time today starting my meal plan for June (touching into July and August to work out where I'm 'dumping' sausage based meals as I've heaps of those in the freezer), only for DS1 to come home from work just over an hour ago and inform me that (as of 19th May) he's moving back onto night shifts - so instead of just feeding him on non-work days (he gets a good lunch when he's on day shift. and he works 7 in 14) he's going to want feeding every day !!! Totally messes up my meal plan from that day onwards, as on days he was working I was using up odd portions of things or having fish (which he doesn't like) - so looks like I need to rework it while trying to minimise the need to cook 2 totally different meals. (Not too bad if we both have something with pasta or rich or potatoes and veg though, as I'm sure I can manage two type of protein using the same cooking method).

On the plus side, it does mean I should get through the contents of my freezer a bit sooner :D

Will have to adjust my grocery budget going forward, but despite being on a super-low one for May I'm going to try and stick to what I set it as for this month..... in theory it should only mean extra veg for a couple of weeks as my freezers are bulging with meat products (almost certainly enough to take us comfortably into 2015 even with this change in plans )

Massive shop due later between 1-2 pm with T*sco and yet still three days til payday (can't come soon enough) :(!

Arrived and not one substitution unlike Asd*. Unfortunately a pack of teabags hadn't sealed properly, so as i went to pop them in my Tea jar, the tea leaves were falling out willy-nilly. I phoned up more to make them aware than ask for a refund; but the lady took down batch details, and not only offered to refund them, but offered me £5 off my next shop :T. So, it was worth the phonecall.

However, still spent £72.70 after £10 ecoupon deducted.
Also, a little spend in the Co-op on YS coleslaw and YS bread ... always seem to have stacks, so can't wait for this impending move. Anyways, came to £1.90 total.

Off to catch up and update sig.

Need to go and set up a seperate bank account tomorrow for any future grocery spends online, so that it comes out of the correct funds.
GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £89.90/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. One person vegan household with occasional visitors)

Not sure I actually got round to signing up for this month but count me in! Away for over half the month (three work trips with visits to friends tacked on, plus ten days at my parents house) so not a huge budget this time as so few days of having to cook for myself, aiming for £36, of which I've spent £3.30 so far on coffee with a friend.

I'm calling today a nsd... Went to asd@ and spent £20 on carp (chocolate, sweets, nuts, Pringles etc), as I needed comfort food. Today is a very hard day chez moi, as would've been son's bday. Consoled myself with said junk food, although could hardly eat any of it before feeling sick!! This means we now have lots of noms in the house for future snackage. (This was paid for from pocket money - mine, not the children's!)

Change of plan from meal planner tonight. Children, esp dd who has an almost cold, wanted poorly dinner for dinner instead of sausage casserole. Worked for me as quicker, cheaper and easier, and I'd forgotten to take the sausages out of the freezer!!

Will be nsd tom as it's my late night at work :(

    Night all
