My first NSD of the month and an unexpected one. Out for the day at a race and took loads of food and drink with us. 'Accidently' forgot my purse and OH actually did! So we couldn't have bought anything if we had wanted to. The only thing that we would gave been tempted by would have been hot snacks so glad it was a NSD. Hoping for two more (if not three) before the end of the week!

Can I go for €550 again please? I didn't do as dreadfully as I thought for April.

This weekend, I spent €16 in new local tesco on sat (steak and band aids), €78 in Supervalu (main shop), another €11 in tesco today (eggs, bread, squash, and jam tarts for visitors), and €8 in farmers market yesterday on veg and fruit.

Sat we had steak, mash and large mushrooms baked with old blue cheese.

Yest, we had a last minute impromptu bbq in neighbours, but took the organic chick with us as it was already cooked. They sent leftovers back with us as they don't DO leftovers.

Today, we had sambos for lunch, and the leftover chick as butter chicken curry, with my quickie pilau rice.

Tomorrow, southern fried chick from freezer, and either leftover mash hotpot with onion, or southern fried wedges using. Packet of mix.

Wed will be chicken and mushroom lasagne.

Thurs, can't remember now, but something sensible. Possibly pasta. Or sausages.

And while I have lunch out tomorrow (conference), it's salads rest of the week for me.

I had a read Mrs C. All I can say is how sorry I am that you had such an horrendous experience at such a low point in your life. I just hope that something comes out of your complaints to improve the situation for others. Sending a virtual hug.

Went into MnS to take back a pair of trousers for a refund and, as I had 20 mins in hand I had a look in the food. Got an Asian chicken meal, a pot of bean and pea salad with dressing and a bag of maris small pots for £2 (all YS) and the cashier gave me a £5 off £25 voucher until the 20th :T

Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday

Oh forgot to add, not go but bought 4 tom plants already in basket and growing well for same price as 5 smaller ones so happy with that. Need 1 tall plant for a tub, and 2 courgette plants, but may have missed courgettes. Veg in garden growing at last, but will be a while before we harvest anything.

  • Another NSD here today, but will probably do a stock up shop tomorrow.

Well into Autumn here, have had the fire going all week, and today is another rainy, blustery day, at least the drought is over!

Officially joining you now 06/05 for May. Gone way over for April and not sure how i'll manage this month. I am probably going to be moving on the 26th; and my new house has a built in fridge freezer, aswell as me having my own (will not have had this much fridge and freezer space since 2008!) so will hopefully be able to pick up some super bargains for the end of May to see us through to June, and start making more stuff to freeze. wish there were more reductions on veggie stuff though, as never seem to find very much. Oh well, i will happily just fill a freezer with bread if i have to; and we can finally put all soft/alcoholic drinks in the fridge to chill, instead of random places in my what is now tiny kitchen.

Massive shop due later between 1-2 pm with T*sco and yet still three days til payday (can't come soon enough) :(!

Off to bed now to catch up on rest of thread. My sleep is out of sync due to work, BH and noisy NDN, hence why i am up so late updating. I am normally catching the zzzzs by this time.

Did the weekly shop in Mr M's today, felt like a change, and my bank had a 5% cash back offer on when you spend there. DH wanted razorblades, I got a little gift for a friends daughter and got some tea & coffee canisters but have taken all that off the total as they come from different budgets. So spends of £41.96, which included a few cleaning/household things I don't buy every week, lots of fruit, and more tinned veg - seem to get through loads at the moment!

The savers tinned chopped tomatoes were 4 for £1, normally 31p each, so I got a few of those as they do work out quite a bit cheaper than normal!
