Just wondered - can you defrost in micro or have to put in fridge night before you want to use them
    Lx

I use the microwave, but I stand and watch them. If they are in there too long, they will begin to scramble. Still can be eaten, just not in a baked good! :o

Ended up with a few bits-and-pieces shops lately :o never good as always seems to wrack up the spends, but hey ho. Now at total of £171.57. Am trying not to panic as still have half my month to go and a bd dinner to shop for for DD so will have to splurge a bit there. Will just have to keep tighter rein on rest of meals. Just done meal plan for week (other then the bd) and dont need much at all. Just need to remind myself of that daily and stick to the plan. :D

Oh dear £3 on 9 toilet rolls and 75p on RTC white chocolate cookies at the Co-op. *Blows self big raspberry*

Btw I've added a homepage to my profile on here, my latest post is about poor hospital care received in my husband's last days, would love it if anyone wanted to read, comment or share, not strictly MSE but the difficult feelings stirred up (and the fact there's now one income in our household) are the backdrop to my MSE ways.

Have a lovely Bank Holiday if you can xx
  • Morning everyone! Dull and a bit cold here today.

Still got no access to my cash, so enforced NSD again today!!

Have done an online shop for later in the week, but may try and hold out until next week.

I have soup made yesterday for lunch and steak and vegetable bake for tea. Might do some baking later (not that I need the calories though!,)

We went to Ald1 to get BBQ stuffs, brickettes, lighter blocks, chicken, mince, yoghurt, sausages, chickpeas, limes, peppers, spring onions, etc. Not on GC budget as out of our holding pot.

I did however top up shop, washing up liquid, garlic and chocolate for OH totalling £1.97 :p

£16 in coop on some reduced dinners (Chinese duck and some Chinese sides for tonight as couldn't resist!) a salmon and pollock gratin and a carbonara.
Also cards and pressies (chocolates and an ale) for my dads birthday as I don't have a seperate budget for extras yet. But need to put one in next month!

Spent £27 odd in Mr S yesterday, most of which went on a top rump roasting joint which is on special offer (half price £14.50 instead of £29). That will provide meat for us for at 8 dinners so not bad. DH insisted on buying a coffee and a cookie after we took Baby T swimming this morning so that is another £4.30 spend. So £47 spent out of £250 so far.

  • Just updating sig as had a couple of small spends. Mr M and Mr Al*i.

Will do another shop perhaps Friday. Decided I need to work out exact meal plan as fruit and veg bought nearly two weeks ago has lasted ages. Now left with bits to use up so will be some interesting meals!!!

Going to check out local butcher for ham shank so can make soup and past bake.
Found buying loose mushrooms in Mr M far more cost effective - just picked up the 10 I needed for the recipe. Usually end up throwing some out.

Have a good rest of week everyone
