I really, really, really need to get back on with my GC budget. I have completely lost my way recently. Having a bit of a stressful time with the little ones to be honest, youngest is nearly 1 now and is teething a lot so very grumpy sometimes and oldest is nearly 3 and going through a very jealous faze, so they are running me ragged. But going to try really hard for £200 again this month and see how we go. x Hope you are all doing well, I have had a quick flick through the thread and there are lots of newbies - Welcome All! x Good luck with the challenge.

    Good morning everyone.

I'm in for £120 for May. This is a reduction of £20 to make up for going over in April. Looking at what meals I can make with what's already in, it should be doable. Plus, May is the most stressful month for my job, so I won't feel like shopping anyway.

    Have a good day everyone!

NSD yesterday (did buy KFC on the way home and some donuts in blackpool but that's not counted in the GC )
Think we need bread today at least so will update later on spending. Just sorting out mr T shop for Monday too. We seem to have lots in though so shouldn't be too extortionate apart from it being to last til a week Wednesday!

Afternoon - may I join in this month? I have had some heavy spending months and need to reign in and start to make my way through he freezer!! My month runs from 23rd April to 22nd May and I have been out today and bought some essentials. My total spend therefore is already £59.28 from a £100 budget:(. However I have everything is and just need to be focussed on menu planning (whilst following slimming world just to make the task a little more challenging!).

    1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
    2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
    3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)

First shop of the challenge done - split between Aldi & home bargains....came in at £101.46:eek:Admittedly the first shop after payday is normally more expensive. However, I've gone through the receipts....and realistically around £7.00 of that were extra 'bits' that we didn't necessarily need.....although they will get used/eaten. I did manage to resist adding quite a lot of extras.....but think I need to try harder!

    £258.54 left:(

I had a good look through my cupboards and freezer and there is enough to feed a small army

This weeks (hopefully) shop comes in at £2.89

Went into Mr. T and bought eggs, bread and washing up liquid. Now I'm going to try to stay out of the shops all week - which shouldn't be too hard as I'm on the train at 7am and back after 8 most days

DD said she was hungry in town but, being the cruel and evil person I am, made her wait the ten minute walk home where we have hot cross buns, easter eggs, and loads of other sweet and savoury treats!

Maybe I should try for £200 this month instead?

Feeling motivated. Thanks girls (and boys?) for keeping the thread going and making naughty spenders like me feel bad :o

Out of my cupboards, fridge and freezer I'm going to make

Saturday (today) - chicken soup and leftovers
Sunday - Falafels, hummus, wraps, cous cous
Monday - Chicken, chorizo and pepper jambalaya
Tuesday - Chana masala with parathas
Weds - Lamb in red wine with parsnips and sweet pot mash
    Thurs - Tuna pasta bake
Friday - My boss is cooking for me :)

Breakfasts - Porridge with blueberries/banana/strawberries (all in freezer and three cartons of soya milk in fridge ), Egg on toast, hot cross buns (freezer), cereals, smoothies (from frozen fruit)
Lunches - leftover meals from night before or tuna/egg sandwiches

    Hi everyone,

    Budgets updated to here

    Welcome to:
cats ahoy, MandM90, TattyG, Lily rose, and StanwithaPlan

(emoticons are not working right now, but big cheesy grin!)

I'm now onto my May budget. Spent £89.69 in Aldi yesterday, stocking up on cupboard essentials and various cleaning items. Cheeky that the voucher now states £5 off wys £45. I was wayyyy over anyway but I know how some people budget it to the penny.

We have friends for dinner tonight so will be getting a Chinese takeaway. Meal plan for this week is:

    Saturday - takeaway
Sunday - roast gammon, mash, baby sweetcorn, mangetout
    Monday - macaroni cheese, broccoli
Tuesday - chicken balti, rice, naan
Wednesday - tuna pasta bake, veg
    Thursday - tbd

Friday we are off to Somerset for a long weekend with the rugby team. Will take breakfasts and lunches with us, but will be contributing to food for Saturday/Sunday nights as a group.

    Have a good weekend all.
