    My month starts officially tomorrow.
I think the meal plan looks something like...
    Monday: spaghetti and meatballs
Tuesday: chicken tikka masala with rice and chipattis
    Wed: egg, wedges and beans
    Thurs: cottage pie
Fri; roasted fish and veg thingy (just chuck it all in the oven!)
    Sat; veggie fried rice
Sunday: roast chicken and trimmings (possibly minus the chicken if I can't find a decent one on offer!)

Hope everyone has a good week x

Evening all, I've done a meal plan for this week:

Mon -- pasta parcels (on offer at £1 in Sains, enough for 3) with Sains basics pasta sauce (50p) salad from Aldi Super Six.

Tues -- chicken breast (defrosted from frozen, on offer at Sains, works out at about 50p each I *think*) with loads of veg, basics Yorkshires, potatoes for girls, not for me.

Weds -- tea at my mum's.

Thurs: fishfingers (were on offer) salad from Aldi Super Six. Potato wedges for girls.

Friday: Girls at friend's house, something from freezer with salad/veg for me.

Saturday: sausage casserole or sausage pasta bake with YS sausages.

I have everything in for all these meals, plus healthy lunches and snacks, going to try and spend absolute minimum this week.

    Good luck all.

Just about to sit down for dinner. Children been very helpful today - helping cook dinner, breakfast in bed, putting shopping away, washing on line... Such lovely children!! (Usually!) Spend today with the a&da delivery of £43.07, which is everything for the week plus some stocking up, just can't help myself!

    Meal plan is:
    Monday chicken risotto
    Tuesday not sure yet
    Wednesday boiled/scrambled eggs on toast
    Thursday something microwaveable
Friday and the whole next week, anything from stocks as children on holiday with their dad for a week :(

At least that will save some money! I'm spending the whole week sorting the house out, spring cleaning and prepping bits for the following week when the children are back.

    Anyway, dinner!

My budget is still intact, i dont get paid until midnight so thats a good reason to keep it that way.
However, i cancelled my ocado online smart pass and they have written to tell me they have given me three free months. The family have been saying how much they miss certain things from Ocado, pate, bread, baked beans and tuna of all things.
So i have put a list together and i am stocking up and having a delivery tomorrow. The trouble is i got the total amount to £40.01, as it has to be over £40. Since then I have added to it as I remembered what other things we will need. Its now nearing £70!

  • Evening everyone - hope all you Mums had a nice day!

I went to bed really really late (well nearly 5am) after staying up working on a project, and then had not long fallen asleep when was woken with a bout of atrial fibrillation - I get it from time to time (irregular heartbeat), so today I haven't been doing much of anything as I have been waiting for it to go back to normal. It hasn't yet so I will have to go into hospital for a DC cardioversion tomorrow if it doesn't right itself by then!! I am lucky because I have the most marvellous cardiologist and one of the best heart units in Eurpoe (if not the best) just a few miles away.

I did turkey breast steaks with hm coleslaw for lunch and for tea I said we could have a chinese as I didn't feel like cooking. It cost £15 and was absolutely vile - I ate about 10 chips and one mouthful of sweet and sour chicken which I had to spit out. It was all unbelievably garlicky and the chicken had a weird rubbery meatbally texture (shudder!!) It nearly all went into the bin, so that is a waste of £15 from April's budget!! £45 spent so far, and I have a £5 Aldi voucher to use before the end of the week so that will involve another £35 spend.

JIL - I got the same thing from Ocado, but haven't used it yet - I do like some of the stuff from Ocado and they sometimes have really good offers, particularly on Ocado range meat and fish, but it is generally much more expensive than the other supermarkets.

Have just put a piece of beef in the oven to roast for the coming week - should get a good few meals off it. I got it in Aldi - it is their specially selected topside and has always been lovely. It's smelling great!

Hope you have all had a lovely day!
