Do any of you buy meat online? We only have one butcher in our village and I have to say that his meat is not the nicest, and I am increasingly dissapointed with supermarket meat. I would like to try one of the online butchers but am not sure who to use - some seem awfully expensive though.

I have chicken defrosting for tomorrow (making lemon roasted chicken pieces), and a piece of beef for Sunday.

Just going to read through the thread so far now!

I have used westin gourmet and found them to be very good. The quality is better than the supermarket and they have some good offers. If you google for codes there is usually some offer for freebies with an order. I order from the clever colleagues/ family faves section which gives you 10% off if you spend 50. The chicken breasts are huge so we only need 1 between 2 of us for stir fry. The mince beef is fab but I think the joints and whole chickens are expensive

It's been so long since I've been on here that I forgot to make my budget red! Sorry guys; must be a real pain when you're trying to organise us all!!

    £150 for April please.

Wasn't planning to buy anything else this week, but t have a 342 on school bars which my children love. I don't buy them full price, and they've been asking for weeks if they can have them so I might stock up. £3.96 for 3 boxes. The offer is on until the 9th, so perhaps I'll go at the weekend instead, when I don't have the children. That way I can get one box out at a time from my secret stash! Do any other parents do that?! Makes them last far longer than putting them all in the treaty cupboard.

    Night all,

Mr A delivery today - total for the month now at £61.01/£160. Stocked up on heavy stuff so shouldn't need another delivery all month and £100 will hopefully be plenty :)

    Mealplan as follows:

Sun 30 - spaghetti bolognaise with garlic bread
Mon 31 - crispy-topped baked trout with new potatoes and veg
Tues 1 - hummous, homemade pittas and salads
Wed 2 - cashew nut & veg stirfry with sticky rice
Thurs 3 - out visiting friends
Fri 4 - bacon-wrapped chicken breasts with new potatoes and veg
Sat 5 - roast veggie pasta bake with salad

Breakfasts - either bran flakes or porridge, both with banana, for me; husband has bran flakes every weekday morning then bacon rolls usually at the weekend

Lunches - soup & homemade bread for me; tuna or ham rolls for husband – we have apples, tinned fruit, raisins, homemade cheesy biscuit things, crisps and nuts in to take with lunches or as snacks.

Still need to get the trout as it was badly substituted for another fish in the delivery so I returned it, and also forgot to get spreadable butter, then we should be good all week.

EDIT - Sorry to whoever asked for the truffle recipe, I will post it tomorrow if that's OK, need to get to bed now lol :)

Hope your lad's face is better Seequena.

First shop tomorrow but meal plan is done so shouldn't be any random spends. Expecting visitors this month so will see if I can still come in under budget. Should do as we are away for some of the month so maybe it will balance out.
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.
