    Hello,

It seems the rest of the country makes corned beef hash differently to the way we do, so although it's not a slow cooker version I'll tell you how I make mine.

left over potatoes, or if you have none you can make some of the instant stuff up, (following the same precausions as you do if making fish cakes with instant mash,) make sure its a really dry powdery consistency because if you make it up to an eating creamy texture it falls to mush when you go on to cook it, if it needs binding shove in an egg later.

Then theres the onion, if you have the time or inclination, fry it up and let it cool before adding to the mash, if not, chop it finely leave it raw and add to the mash, then bung in a tin of corned beef mash it through ( add egg if necessary, if it then ends up too mushy you can add some bread crumbs) shape it into patties, cover in flour, I prefer brown flour, or even better still fine oatmeal and fry it up till it has a crisp golden skin and enjoy with tomato ketchup, sweet chille sauce, salad cream or any other sauce you fancy, I love it so I thought I'd pass it on.

Oh yummy - will give that a go !!

Cornedbeef Hash here is like a stew using Corned Beef - I did make this the other night and kind of made it up as I went along !!

Though the whole family said how yummy it was and there was loads left over.

I think I am going to make this in advance because it tasted even better the next day !!

I cut spuds up into small cubes (dice size)

Liquidize an onion (we don't like lumps) (or chop into tiny pieces and fry off)

Cut corned beef up into small cubes (dice size)

Put the above into the SC, add some beef stock and a dash of worcester sauce and cook.
Just run, run and keep on running!

I just dice carrot, onion, turnip add to cornedbeef, some pre-soaked broth mix, cook in oven for about an hour, then add oxo and sliced potatos on top, so they go nice and crispy, back in oven for another hour, delicious. Might make this one day during the week.

I boil and mash potatoes, leave them dry no butter or milk added, then add fried off onions, and a tin of chopped up corned beef, then mix together. Shove in a pyrex dish, and bake in the oven till crispy on top. Yum!

    buuuuuuuuuuuuuurp..

ok, it wasn't corned beef ash but it was bloody lovely.

    1 tin of corned beef

    then the fridge cleaning..

    1 carrot
4 smallish potatoes (rest of the bag)
    1 onion
    2 spring onions
    1 red pepper (seeded)
    cabbage

peel and boil the potatoes and with the chopped carrot

Heat some oil in a frying pan, added mixed herbs, mixed spices, garlic pepper, worcestershire sauce.
Chop the onion, spring onions and pepper and lightly fry while potatoes and carrots are boiling.
Chop the corned beef and add into the frying pan
    Add some sweet chilli sauce

When the potatoes are nearly done add the cabbage

    Pre heat oven

When the potatoes are done drain the water, add milk and butter and mash (add pepper if you want)
Add the corned beef and onion mix. Slop into an oven proof dish and grate cheese over the top. Put in the oven till the cheese is melted and it's crisping over. Remove and serve, with crusty bread if you've got any (i didn't).

When you remove from the oven don't slide the shelf out so far the dish nearly drops out and you have to grab the shelf.... it's hurts like chuff if you do it with bare hands.

I tried this with garlic thrown in, too, and it was delicious.
