I've just received a leaflet from MBNA Platinum offering the Cordless Digital Home Phone again. Plus the usual 0% on BTs for 9 months.
To apply by phone call FREE on 0800 028 2440 and quote reference: 31A6YF58. You need to respond to the offer before 26th December 2004 and use your card before 14th February 2005 to qualify for the free phone.0 -
You should be clear that "Use" doesn't mean BUY anything - it means do the balance transfer. That's enough to trigger the free gifts.
And purchasing is bad news on a 0% card.0 -
Just a note to others who may be wondering...
Found out that if you activate your MBNA cc's using the mbna web site....it does not actually activate it properly as would be expected!!
I found this out by once calling mbna with a general query resulting in them asking me lots of suspicious questions regarding the cards usage to date. :-/
Once I explained I had activated it, they said it wasnt...they then activated it properly and then the freebie products were issued accordingly since I had already made a few purchases which was a scary thought in itself knowing that a card may be used when not activated!! !
In the last few days the dect phone and mp3 player came through via recorded delivery! One high was that the mp3 player packaging indicated it was a 128mb version only to open it up to find a little 64mb sticker on the actual player as in the advertised offer version
...resulting in one quick back down to earth low! hehe!
Time to merge the cards now methinks!

@LOPO
I activated my MBNA card on the internet too. I'm sure it said that I could do this on the letter I received. However, I haven't received my cordless phone yet either. I did a balance transfer on the application form over 2 months ago. I was preparing myself for the "balance transfers are included when it says 'use' in the T+C's" debate, but maybe this is the problem. I was going to phone them anyway. If you don't mind me asking: How long did you wait before you phoned up? What kinds of questions did they ask you?

EDIT: I phoned up and... I was activated OK ???. Anyway, they have no idea why my phone hasn't been sent though. Investigating... And they don't know why my Direct Debit has never successfully been set up on the internet (after two attempts). Oh well, sorted now. If you set up a DD on the internet with MBNA, make sure that it has been set up properly!!!0 -
@ Tiger
They were just suspicious questions...thats all, nothing serious but you could just tell they were not the norm.
Initially it kicked off with me querying an account on general stuff that they had no visible activity on which was not the case. They could not answer my queries since it was an issued but inactive card oddly enough. That was roughly 2 weeks after receiving and using the cards. I then queried the sending of the freebies once we got over the above hurdle which they confirmed had not been actioned and resolved speedily enough.
Hope that clarifies things...

I got my set of watches today from MBNA after about one month of opening the account. But I did ring them last week about it. Thanks for the original post.0

Hi, just a question to those that have applied for an amazon credit card.
I didnt receive the pre-addressed envelope to return my application to. Can anyone confirm the address for me?
Thanks0 -
I have just applied for an MBNA card that offers a free Goodmans DVD player. Terms the same as other MBNA electrical freebies offers.0
