In a capitalist society, there will always be Haves and Have Nots. Though in theory, communism might sound fairer, in practice there has been a lot of corruption and the poor didn't benefit.
When we live in a society in which everyone gets a good free education as a foundation and everyone gets the opportunity to fulfill their potential if they put the effort in then that's the fairer sort of society I want to see.
These kind of tests are based on stereotypes. So to me, getting 53% posh was kinda predictable, based on the way I was brought up.
But had the questions asked have you ever eaten a Pot Noodle, do you know anyone who lives on a council estate, were you State-educated*, have you ever eaten Tesco value burgers, do you have any clothes from charity shops and have you ever read The Sun - I could answer yes to all those too and they would be just as cliched.

27% posh!
I do have a mantlepiece.....
And I do use french phrases in casual conversation (just like Del Boy..."Mon dieu Rodney" etc etc.)
I have been to the ballet....once, during a very rowdy third year school trip. Our music teacher had been taking third year students to the ballet every year since the dawn of time. When the male dancer came on stage with his incredibly tight tights and bulgy bits, we all roared with laughter and cheered and clapped. A couple of the more "knowledgeable" girls shouted out some very rude things and the upshot was that our school was banned from visiting again. Our teacher was incandescent with rage, we all got very long detentions for that. :rotfl:
I've never had a ski lesson. I have had a Ski yoghurt though, does that count?"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
Maybe carrier bags arent posh. You dont get to know which questions got you the posh marks do you?
Well, some of them its obvious, that one isnt.
I assumed the keeping the carrier bags one meant you were posh in that it's an environmental thing to reuse carrier bags. How confusing!
In real life posh people think I am a peasant and working class people think I am a posho so not sure what to make of that!0 -
Well Im considered posh on the housing estate I live in, because I dont behave like some (not all) of some of the other tenants around me. And its not a compliment.
Which is absolutely ridiculous and makes me laugh as Im as working class as you get, Ive lived in council housing all my life, I went to a very ordinary comprehensive school, what made me stand out here was that I worked full time when very few other people did and didnt bother getting involved in the anti social stuff that can go on around here.0 -
I wonder if the people whose wedding broke up in a fight over a pork pie think they are posh!
The groom is quoted as saying that all weddings need a good punch up!
Classy! :rotfl:Member #14 of SKI-ers club
