  • Apparently I'm 33% posh...I don't read tabloids but I do save carrier bags, I don't have my papers delivered but I do have a mantlepiece, and I've never called mam and dad 'mommy and daddy' but I do work besides someone called Phillipa. So overall a mixed bag :D

73% but i am Scottish, would have been higher if they said Volvo estate instead of Landrover.

Comments like 'its only a joke', 'chip on your shoulder', 'get over yourself' et al. are part of the problem.

I can see where you are coming from, but another phrase springs to mind straight away....'Mountain out of a molehill'

It's meant to be light hearted and surely people can see that, and I think the majority of people wouldn't take offence, as non is surely meant.

I do want to get a Barbour jacket though! :)

I buy mine secondhand from Oxfam and get re-proofed. Saves £££ and doesn't look nouveau.

    53% posh.

Don't understand how carrier bags are posh.

Maybe carrier bags arent posh. You dont get to know which questions got you the posh marks do you?

Well, some of them its obvious, that one isnt.
  • And yet look at the responses and the tone in which people are arguing over it? If some one IS insecure about it is it helpful to berate them?

There used to be comedy shows about all kind of prejudices, and thankfully we are returning to a state where we can laugh at things like the last leg. This to me is a very different tone, the dialogue on this thread. Initially that's why I didn't post. I only became interested when someone else said a similar thing tbh.

    :)

I don't see why, especially if its so lighthearted, people have to be offensive to each other in discussing their points, even if they disagree. :)

It's an indication of just how contentious this issue is in the UK when what was probably posted as a bit of light-hearted amusement has descended so quickly into defensive and rather unattractive bickering. Any fool could have foretold this, really. We don't live in a meritocratic society and I fear we never shall as long a minority care how others hold their knives at the dinner-table or whatever the other indicators are.

LOL This is so dumb! Having your paper delivered makes you POSH?! PMSL! Do me a favour. :rotfl:

And what the hell has keeping carrier bags got to do with ANYthing?

And as for the wearing a scarf makes you posh! You wear a scarf if it's cold!

And just coz someone does food shopping at Waitrose, or M & S, that doesn't mean they're 'posh';' it just means that they have more money than sense and are trying to be something they're not.

And if you buy your jewellery from a catalogue, does that go AGAINST you in the posh test, or FOR you? :rotfl:

Seriously, too daft for words! ;)
