  • Not too much black cos it is a wedding.
    Trouser look lovely.
If you've got cleavage a bit of lovely flesh will keep the eye away from the legs. I have hideous legs but decent cleav thus all is well. If minimal cleavage go for a bit of lippy, a smile and pretend you are confident and a fascinator (BHS very reasonable). Usually all eyes on the bride so you is good girlfriend x
Debt Sept 2012 £140,000 end age 65.5 (maximum) four mortgages in total
    April 2016 £114,599.83 (3 mortgages now)
Nil debt for some many years now perhaps 8. Need to save for a tent for holiday this year but nil else.
Over paying about £500 per month but fancy £600 so will have to think of some very money saving techniques...
  • :rotfl::rotfl: This looks to be more of a skater style dress rather than a babydoll top. They can be quite slimming with a cite little belt. That's how I wear it anyway and I have proper curves!

This looks to be more of a sketer style dress which could be nipped in at the waist with a nice little belt? It's how I'd wear it anyway!

It's nice but, like babydoll tops, that style of frock tends to make even skinny girls look five months gone.

    Just my opinion. :p
Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!?

What are proper curves then? That model looks great in this dress, which I also think it perfect for a wedding!

Personally, I think its much worse to be critical of people who are dressed appropriately but who you just don't think look very good. :(

Id never say anything to someone who was at a wedding and whose outfit I didnt like. Im pretty sure Ive worn stuff in the past that people probably thought looked awful, we all have our own style

I was actually thinking of some celebrity weddings where women have turned up in a dress and looked not so good.

Off the top of my head Pippa Middleton seems to get quite a lot of criticism for the way she dresses unlike her sister, I read an article about her where it showed outfits she had worn over the last year or so, there were a few that didnt flatter her at all. Nice figure, plenty money but doesnt always get it spot on.

Neither do the Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie I think. Although I do think some people are lucky in the respect that they can throw an outfit together that doesnt have to be expensive and make it look good.

Skater dresses dont really suit me and they are everywhere just now.
I think this time of year can be quite hard to buy if you are looking for an outfit as its not summer (or what passes for summer) and the Christmas fashions are obviously gone as well.

I quite like tunics. I have a couple, one I bought from Dorothy Perkins a few years ago, Ive worn it with tights, with leggings and even over jeans and it washes and wears really well.

I dont really do fashion as it were, the latest fashions anyway as I dont have tons of cash, I tend to rotate the stuff I have which is fine as Ive plenty clothes and buy a few charity shop bits as well.

I wasn't saying she didn't I was referring to the post that said babydoll smocks can make even skinny girls look a bit on the large side! I wasn't trying to say only certain people should wear this , more that I sometimes struggle to find things that DON'T make me look 3 months gone as I only have a size 10 waist but I need at least a 14 to cover my boobs! It was more me pointing out that I'm not exactly tiny and if I can make this look work with a few accessories (such as a pretty belt) then I'm sure other people could too!

(For what it; worth I hate all these "real women have curves/are skinny/are fat" etc posts. We're all REAL women regardless of shape or size - as a friend of mine with an althelic physique often says - "if I'm not a real woman without curves what I am I then, a sodding aubergine?!?")

Haven't read all through, but would add: if you want to wear trousers, either a smart suit, or lovely silky trousers with a pretty top & long scarf (think "shalwar kameez") look really nice.
As for black, I'm sure that on the previous thread I quoted my great grandmother (born 1870) "black for weddings because your troubles are beginning, white for funerals because they're over"
