I'm struggling too. I've lost a whole 1lb so far. I'm trying to keep going and not give in. At work everyone is dishing out mince pies and other delicious Xmas treats!!!

I've not thought of making my own peanut butter. I'd need to get a machine to mulch them up plus try to get the unsalted kind which don't seem to be available as much as salted ones. I like to eat peanut butter straight from the jar but do have to watch for portion control.

My one downfall is cheese which is low carb but I behave like an overgrown mouse around the stuff as I'm always nibbling at it - I tend to find cheese can add weight on if not careful. :cheesy:

I too have to limit cheese and cream.
Do I need it or just want it.
  • Nice to see the thread back, as I started back on LC on Monday. Going great so far, then again only four days!!
I am looking to lose weight as I have been quite ill and have gained weight on top of the weight I was already carrying. I am now suffering the aching knees and hips which were not meant to carry this kind of weight.
Like others I have to watch the cheese, there are no cheeses I don't like and can eat all in quantity!
I want to lose a stone before Christmas as I do feel very unhealthy at present.
I did the Atkins many years ago with great success which I maintained for several years. I know once into it properly I feel so much better eating real food and less convenience/junk.
So I will keep checking in.:)

Unfortunately just before Christmas is the worst time of year to diet. Followed rapidly by just after :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

My husband and I are cheeseaholics. We currently have about 25 varieties in the fridge. I love Cornish and Somerset Brie, I prefer the taste to French. It has a few less calories than others but thank god cheese is low carb.

Disaster! My trousers kept falling down today. :rotfl: * They are casual loose fitting with an elasticated waist. Looks like another trip to the charity shop.

I threw away my bra extenders today because I don’t need them any more. :D. Looks like another trip to Clark’s Village which has a big M & S. CV by the way is a huge Shopping Outlet Village near Glastonbury if you haven’t heard of it.

    * I was in the house at the time
