Thanks for the welcome.
I'm down 1lb this morning, so feeling motivated.
Today I've eaten:
B the end of yesterday's green smoothie
L turkey salad, cloud bread and creamy jelly
T 4 x chicken drumsticks from the hot deli counter.
I've already made myself and hubby a big turkey/prawn/cheese salad each for lunch tomorrow. I bought full fat Mayo to have as a salad dressing.
I'm trying to drink more water too, but I'm not keen on still, so I've got some fizzy bottles.0 -
I seldom have any water, got some flavoured water in Asda yesterday 4 for £1-50, highest carb count is .6 per 250ml, not tried them yet, I do always have lemon slices in hot water first drink of the day, taking my meds.Do I need it or just want it.0

I lost another lb this morning! I'm sure it's only water weight but I'll enjoy it whilst it lasts!
What I've eaten today
B: 2x fried eggs, 1 sausage, 1 rasher of bacon
L: turkey, prawn & cheese salad, cloud bread, sugar free jelly
T: roast chicken & cabbage, sugar free jelly
I haven't felt hungry, nor craved sweets.
My hubby loved the salad I made for his lunch, so I've made us another one each for tomorrow.

I made some low carb chocolate thingys yesterday, butter, coconut oil, cocoa butter, cocoa, nuts, a lot of ingredients I hadn`t got were missed, poured it into a tin to set, ate most of it .
lesson learned, pun intended.
Don`t make treats, you eat too many.Do I need it or just want it.0 -
Good morning
Good news ive lost 1lb, and more, to the point, my IBS seems a bit easier. No grains now for two days and feeling much better. I think I've proved beyond a doubt, no grains for me, every time I eat any my IBS gives me gyp. It's just not worth it........:(
Anyway the other really good news is my DS2 has decided to join me in the Paleo. He doesn't need to lose weight, he just wants to eat a more healthy diet and cut out all the nasties. This us great news for me because he won't be stocking up the cupboards with cakes, biscuits and junk.
If it's not in the house then it won't tempt me.
I've even managed to start exercising a bit, only walking and my elliptical trainer but it's a start.
Onwards and upwards.0 -
Great news about the weight loss and especially that your son is joining you. It's so much easier if there is nothing to tempt in the cupboards.
Today's meals are:
B fried eggs, sausage, bacon
L turkey, prawn, cheese salad
T lamb steaks, broccoli0 -
Great news on the loss and the I.B.S. front lesson learned, Woke up this morning with a sore back, by the time I have walked the dog easing off, my own fault, not been swimming for 2 weeks or dragged the Wii out for months.
I am hit and miss on the food front, finished all that choc mix off yesterday so no excsuse now.Do I need it or just want it.0 -
Pamsdish - hope the back pain is easing off a bit now. I am using tiger balm on mine at the moment, seems to be helping. Plus I am managing to do some simple yoga and my prescribed back stretches each day. Only a few but hoping to build up gradually.
Treacle toes - thanks for posting your daily food plans. I think it always helps to see what "real" people are eating - you give me ideas and inspiration.
Today I just had yoghurt for breakfast because I had an early opticians appt and overslept. So I have just had a good lunch of cold chicken drumsticks, olives and tomatoes. Dinner will be sausage casserole, heavy on the veg.
Lost another half pound today so feeling chuffed.
Went to asda today, bought one of those ."spaghettizer" thingies. I have been cutting courgettes into strips by hand so hopefully this will be easier.0 -
Hi all,
I've got a Spiralizer for Christmas but haven't used it much, however I've been inspired by recipes on blogs and Facebook groups so today I bought some courgettes in order to make zoodles!
I'm glad your happy with me posting my meals, they can be a bit samey.
Yesterday I read a yummy recipe for low carb scotch egg, so I've just made that using tesco finest sausage meat and rolling in a mixture of Parmesan and flax seed. You really have to be aware of the nutritional information on packets as normal sausage meat was sky high in carbs and finest was low. Lucky for me it was yellow stickered.
Today my meals are:
B one fried egg and bacon
L last slice of oven baked frittata, half an avocado, some sweet peppers in brine
T will be cauliflower cheese with either a scotch egg or a steak. Maybe a sugar free jelly made with double cream if they set in time.
I've been inspired by a blog called ditchthecarbs.com which has some nice recipes. The writer also says if they are suitable for paleo.
I read something quite powerful to me early on a Facebook group, when someone asked if they log their food. Someone replied that they didn't as that would make it a diet, rather than a way of eating. I really don't want to go back to logging everything and obsessing about calories etc, as that takes the joy away for me of food.0 -
Love the sound of the scotch egg.....would you be so kind as to post the recipe if you have a moment.
I so agree with not keeping a log of every single calorie or carb. I just couldn't do that. I stick to my own version of paleo, with a few tweaks to suit me. My real goal is to bring down my blood sugars and get to the stage where I can hopefully manage my IBS without meds. And of course, losing weight will help with both goals.
I just want to enjoy good healthy food, without obsessing over it - as you say it takes all the joy away.
I'll take a look at the blog later.
I make courgette spaghetti - it's really nice.
Ps do you have an Aldi near you. The sausages I'm using tonight are from Aldi, 97 per cent pork and gluten free. I can't remember quite how much, I think about £1.70 for six. I thought that was good for gluten free.
I have used 4 in the casserole. (2 each) and I will remove the meat from the skins on the other two, make them into meatballs and cook them up with onion, garlic, basil, tomatoes and mushrooms. Ds2 will have proper spaghetti and I will have "courgetti", some Parmesan on the top.
So 2 meals for £1.70 worth of sausage is quite good I think.0
