  • Hey, wondering if people could advise on the below.
An EasyJet flight I was scheduled to depart on was delayed throughout the day and then overnight. A replacement flight was then put on the next day. After the 12 hours delay I chose to book an alternative Ryanair flight home that night.
EasyJet are currently rejecting my compensation claim as they say I didn’t travel on the rearranged flight. I can’t find anywhere in the EU regulations saying you have to take their rearranged flight options to be due compensation.
    Does anyone know better?
    Thanks

  • Martin's site clearly states that your delay must be in excess of 3 hours. Wike**ia says 2 hours if the flight is less that 1500km. Which is right? Our Ryanair flight landed 2 hours and 25 minutes late but the doors didn't open for another 25 minutes. The terminal doors were locked!

I think you have misread the article. It talks of refreshments etc to be made available after 2 hours and then goes on to state "in case of an arrival delay of more than 3 hours, passengers are entitled to cash compensation, unless the delay is caused by extraordinary circumstances"
    no compo sorry
