  • Whoop whoop, it's those kinds of overpayment that are the best as there is no obvious impact on your spending as it's money that you would have spent on something else.

Mid way through cooking this weeks lunch. Need to keep in the habit of taking stuff in but not really a sandwich fan. Quiche cooking and pasta salad ingredients being considered. Home brew is bubbling nicely. I will get to the allotment soon.

Thanks, didn't see your comment when I posted earlier. It is indeed a good feeling with it being money we never had. I am still toying with how much to have in the rainy day fund and think we have too much. May pay another 2 k off out of the account. Maybe 1k. Will think about it but I so want to get the outstanding balance under 200k and currently it is just over 224k. I am aiming to pay of the 24 within 2 years with the normal payments and overpayments. It will feel lots better once it starts with a 1. We are in our for ever home. Well for the long haul so I want to balance fun and frolics with frugal finesse.

Embarrassingly I am not sure how many years we now have on the mortgage as I don't have a whizzy spreadsheet. I know that it can only be going down I think we will get our annual mortgage statement at the end of June as that is when we moved and took out the current mortgage.

Am knackered as I was up at 4 for no good reason just couldn't sleep.

Yay. Made it to the allotment and planted some things. May take tiddly back down there after school for an hour or may just come home and make cupcakes for pack ups. Bad coll finally leaving and managed a lovely long 11 hour sleep. Mr mfw managed to eat most of the things I made for my packed lunch for the week so need to get cooking again.

  • Hi Charlie, I read that you have an allotment. I've just got back from mine...well it's my father in laws but Ive taken over a HUGE section. Trouble is I have no idea what I'm doing and it's all a bit overwhelming. Also the parking there is very bad and it puts me off going. I should really ride my bike there, hopefully I will get into some kind of routine with it all. How long have you had yours?

Still working out how much I can over pay each month. An addicted to the overpayment calculator. Couple of questions. . . When will I get my annual mortgage statement. Will it be exactly one year from when we took out this most recent mortgage? When will our term officially come down? It still shows the same online which is surely wrong with the over payments I have made to date Also when you gone to change your mortgage deal how does it work with the over payments?

Thanks I you got this far.
