. Also market research this afternoon and then home to get cooking the weeks food. I am going to try and get back into the meal planning and bulk cooking routine. Do others do this? I have meal planned for two weeks whilst we had the student and think it was better but want to keep it up now as a wol.

May make a sneeky overpayment before May. Love seeing the balance go down with the regular actual mortgage payment that comes out on the 1st of each month. No food at work again today. Have made up a packed lunch for tomorrow as it gives me a headache if I don't eat properly. Need to get to the allotment and burn some waste before the burning ban on the 1st. Also seen possible frost so. Need to keep an eye on the weather. Considering a camping trip this weekend. Counting the days til our holiday.Mortgage free Start amount feb 2014 227000. I've been doing some batch cooking since the start of the year. I normally do 2 meals worth of spaghetti bolognese, 4 meals worth of chilli con carne and two meals worth of cottage pie. For other things I normally do double - one for now and one for the freezer. When I'm in cooking mode, it can seem like a lot of work but when the freezer is stocked, it's great.
However, sometimes I've forgotten what's in the freezer, and ended up have chilli several nights on the trot!
But I've now done a freezer inventory, which I update whenever I put things in or take things out, and I'm starting meal planning from next week.
I feel in control now!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Yes I batch freeze it's a great when you cannot be bothered to cook. My batch cook is normally mince related or casserole related.

Massive shop last night to stock up. Probably get the meet shop and then will just be a case of fruit as and when. I made another over payment yesterday and my mortgage showed that and the monthly payment as having cleared when I checked this morning. Working towards owning a third. Some days it feels more manageable then others. It is going to be the longest diary i am sure. X

Morning. I have plans to make an overpayment today. I found out that my annual statement is worked out at the end of May and I really want to have taken two years of the length One from regular payments and one overpayments. I think I am at about 8 months at the moment so need to work out how achievable it is. Am planning on dipping into the rainy day fund if needed and then refilling that over the coming weeks. We have six weeks of students booked in so that will refill I am sure. Will let you know how I get on. It will be our first statement since we have been in this house so excited and nervous to see it written down in black and white.
Big listing of tiddlys old things today I think as half her wardrobe is outgrown stuff and in there somewhere is yet to fit stuff so need to get on with it before she outgrows the stuff
It is really rainy and thundery so no digging this weekend. May pop down to get some more rubharb later and have a peek. Seeds at home are growing wellMortgage free Start amount feb 2014 227000. Current amount nov 2014 217000.
