I had a failed fast day yesterday, so I will do one tomorow instead.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

I am glad other people are getting the diet questions. Its hard to explain to people its not just about weight loss and its not a traditional diet, its a way of life and the fasting has long term health benefits.
I have just passed the end of my second year on the plan and feel great. My weight loss has slowed right down, but sometimes I find I am not as tight on my cal counting on the fast days as I should lol. I find I am only losing around 1-2lb a month, BUT I am pleased that for the first time in many years I am not putting on any weight.
Over the summer I will be spending alot more time in the garden-already doing that now as we like growing our own, so that and plenty of salads should hopefully mean I lose a bit more over summer.
But trying to explain to people that you are happy where you are and that you will always do some kind of fasting gets hard work lol.

5:2 diet is hard to begin with but I find big bowls of low cal veggie soup really fills me up and stops me feeling sluggish on fast days!
Have also started couch to 5k and am really noticed a difference!0 -
i have lost a stone and a half on this.my doc told me to stick to 600 a day. i use the hairy bikers diet recipe book ( its the yellow one with a tape mesure on it ) as they have a calorie count on it and we eat them on a non diet day as well0

I think I need to join you all again. I lost 1.5 stones last year doing this but stopped at Christmas and haven't fasted since. I've only gained a couple of pounds since then but I feel sluggish and my jeans feel a bit tight, and I keep stuffing my face with chocolate
So my plan is to fast once a week as I don't need to lose lots of weight (I'm 8.5 stone now) and stop eating chocolate. It's like an addiction, I can't eat just one piece.

Back on it today after being away for the best part of three weeks - or recovering from jet lag.
So I have had melon, cucumber, slice ham and slice of light leer dammer cheese for brekkie, and then home made chicken and veg soup for the other two meals. That leaves enough calories for teas and coffees through the day - I can go without food, but not my teas and coffees.
I don't usually have soup for both meals but there is just me to think about today and it is easier and rather filling - and I have already made it
I have been looking forward to starting again.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
rosyq - my friend is a chocoholic & she finds that the Aldi packs of 5 small bars of chocolate (one a day when not fasting) mean she has a whole bar & subconciously feels she's had enough so doesn't eat any more that day as its her 'treat'. There's a number of varieties & they seem to be around 200/220 calories per bar. You are disciplined enough to do 5:2 so maybe you could carry it through to just 1 little treat on your 'off' days???Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

The dark chocolate ones are very nice - and if you let each bit melt in your mouth, like you should with rich dark chocolate, it's very satisfying.0 -
Aargh stop it!:eek::eek:
Sorry but it's gone too far, I have to just go cold turkeyMaybe in a few months time I could try that but for now it's too much temptation!
