Yet another fast day for me. I am like the previous posters where I tend to eat the same things on fast days,

    1. So I don't tend to overthink about food too much.
    2. I have microwave meals as I don't want to spend time in the kitchen surrounded by food.

I don't eat anything all day, I just forget that food exists until 6pm when I have my microwave meal with a pile of salad and soy sauce, then a packet of crisps for pudding, and a hot choc before bed.

My children are away with their dad at the moment and I feel like my diet is going to pot a little bit. I'm sticking to the fast days, but it's the non fast days that are going a little awry. I know you are supposed to be able to eat what you want (within reason) on your non fast days, but I had Chinese on Sunday and a shish kebab last night.

I'm also drinking more, eek! Not good.

I'll see what the damage is on Monday and see if I need to reevaluate my non fast days.

so I have been on this "diet" for 2 weeks now, I have done 3 fast days and my last one which was yesterday was a real struggle. weighed myself this morning for the 1st time since I started and I have lost 2lbs.
I have become more aware of what I eat and on feast days I've found I'm eating less than I was before which I see as a good thing. Hopfully this trend will continue and my aim is to lose half a stone for my birthday in mid october and a full stone by christmas.

  • I am just starting back on the 5:2 and in need of support and motivation. I have sucessfully lost weight before using this eating method, and kept it off, but, for the last 6 months or so I have fallen back into old eating habbits. Bascially eating too much!

Fast day this week will be tomorrow and either wednesday or Thursday. I tried to do monday and wednesday last week, Monday was ok, was more hugry than usual on Tuesday and then was too hungry on Wednesday so gave up. Hence, I may try to have a longer gap between fast days.

Does anyone exercise on fast days? I am so unfit at the moment, and am gearing myself up for a work out tomorrow, and I feel if I dont start on Monday I'll end up putting it off for another week. I just want some reassurance that exercise is accaptable on a fast day.

Good luck to all fasters tomorrow

    I've been Money Tipped!
I do an hours Zumba on one of my fast days, and on the other I work in the evening waitressing which involves around 5 miles fast walking. No problems whatsoever with doing this.

Hi Wine of the World! I'm reading through the first thread on 5:2 (goes back to 2013) and I saw your name on there posting.

I read through the thread hoping it will make me forget about food. I'm up to page 136 now, but I only read it on fast days when I'm at work, so it's taken me a fair while!

Fast day again for me and I should be okay as I didn't have anything to drink last night which I always find makes it easier. Annoyingly I couldn't weigh in this morning as I stayed at my mum's last night, but still determined to stick to my fast days as I don't want to put on the (almost) stone that I've managed to get rid of.

Good to hear! I have done the instanity workout in the past on a fast day, but a few times I felt a bit dizzy and lightheaded - I think this was becuase I was really pushing myself, rather than because of the fasting, but I've been using this as a reason not to re-start exercising. I did a half hour work out today and was fine.

I have been using this eating method for quite a while, each time with very good results, especially given I have never sucessfully lost weight using any other 'diet'. This works, I just need to go through with each fast day.

So another day today, really finding them easier and easier (although it is only 11.30am!).

Supposed to weigh in today, but stayed at my Mum's, so will have to do it it tomorrow. Was thinking of changing my weigh in day to a Tuesday anyways as it's the day after a fast day.

Plan for today is as normal. Coffee for breakfast. A diet coke as a snack and loads of water.

Then at 6pm will eat my microwave meal with a load of salad, crisps for pud and a hot choc before bed.

Was thinking of trying 4:3 for a while as my weight loss seems to have stalled, but not sure as it would mean Monday, Wednesday and Friday and I like a bottle of wine on Friday for Movie Night with my kids.
