I know this thread hasn't been posted on in a couple of months, but I have decided to return to the fast diet after stopping (for no good reason) back in October. I've put on the stone that I lost through the diet (to be fair, it took me three months to put on what I lost and it took me that amount of time to lose it in the first place).
I like the principle of the diet as I can always have what I want tomorrow and it is only for one day where I don't eat a lot of food. And it worked. Well it did for me anyway.
So, I started again on Monday, with my fast days generally being Monday and Thursday.
Today's menu is
7am: Coffee - 26 cals
2pm: Fruit Tea - 2 cals
6pm: Microwave Tuna Pasta Bake - 290 cals
Salad of lettuce and tomatoes and soy sauce - 45 cals
Veg of mushrooms and peppers fried in fry light - 78 cals
10pm: Options Hot Choc - 39 cals
Throughout day: Squash - 2 cals
Total - 482 cals.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

yep, I am back on the 5:2.. well more accurately 4:3 as I had a very indulgent Christmas visiting friends. On reflection I think it was the generous glasses of wine and large measures of Amaretto & Tia Maria!! Loads of calories in there! I rarely drink at home.
Have done 3 fast days so far and the weight is reducing- thankfully. After all my hard work last year I am feeling a bit angry with myself! In control now!
Interestingly since being on the diet since late Jan last year (most of the time) with essentially meat free days I find I choose a lot less meat automatically.
Can't seem to switch off the sweet tooth 'though- my utter downfall.
Good luck folks!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I'm still 5:2-ing, but to be honest it's such a part of my routine now that it doesn't feel like I'm "doing a thing", so I don't really post here any more.
But I guess feeling like it's business as usual is the pointDo you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?

5:2 is just part of my life now, except for when on holiday, Christmas etc. It enables me to enjoy more food at the weekend, eat out if I want and it really is the best diet I have ever followed. Although my cholesterol has never been high, it increased after the menopause, and now is back to what it used to be. One day at a time is what makes it so easy.0

I'm finding it all a bit difficult if I'm being honest. When I was on 5:2 last year, I found it easier as I was losing weight.
Now this is my fourth week of fasting and I am sticking the fast days, but I don't seem to be losing anything which is making me lose heart with it.
I'm still going to try and stay with it though because it has other benefits such as saving money on food(!) and makes me drink less as I simply can't fit alcohol calories in on a fast day!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I quote:Wendie Plan for Points Plus
Beat the Weight Watchers Plateau
Have you been on the Weight Watchers plan, successfully losing weight and happy about your progress? And then, all of a sudden, the weight loss stops? Yes, you've hit that dreaded weight loss plateau. Why aren't those pounds continuing to come off? Many of us dieters have gone through this frustrating period. One person, known as Wendie, came up with a way to beat the Weight Watchers plateau.
Basically the Wendie Plan (or Wendy Plan) uses your extra Weight Watcher weekly points to get your metabolism going again. After spending a certain amount of time taking in the same amount of food every day, your body adjusts and lowers your metabolism so the weight loss stops and you hit the Weight Watchers plateau. The Wendie Plan (or Wendy Plan) uses your extra weekly points in a certain distribution to help increase your metabolism so you can start losing that weight again. You can read more about the Wendie Plan (using the old Weight Watchers point system) here.
In January 2016, Weight Watchers introduced a new point system call SmartPoints. And previously in November 2010, Weight Watchers had introduced a point system called PointsPlus. So, unfortunately, the points distribution in the original Wendie Plan article is no longer valid. Therefore we've taken the percentage distribution and applied it to the new SmartPoints system and to the old PointsPlus system to give you your new Wendy Plan point distribution. And we've created a handy calculator to make it easier for you to figure out your daily points.
In addition there is another version of the Wendie Plan for the old PointsPlus system that is being used in the Weight Watchers community message boards. This version is also available in the calculator.
Enjoy and happy weight loss!
in oother words it means go mental for 2 days..
its the same principle as the idiot proof diet

Are you measuring yourself as well as getting on the scales?

No I haven't been measuring myself, but I do take note of how my clothes fit.
I literally haven't lost anything in the three weeks since I started back in January. Maybe I'm overindulging the other 5 days, but it didn't seem to matter last year.
I got down to what I thought was a good weight for me, but better than that, my clothes fitted better and my mummy tummy disappeared, but then I lost motivation as I stopped losing (as I'd gotten to a weight I think my body was comfortable with) and so stopped doing the diet.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I need to get back on to this next week. I basically stopped for Christmas, then there was eating up all the extra food we had (in-laws had to go home 3 days early due to the flooding back home) and then just generally being knackered. Next week is a new month so time to stop messing about. I am back to the point I reached before xmas where I am about 5lbs from goal weight. I have half term off and a few events for DD's birthday but a good couple of weeks before that should put me on the right pathI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans
