Lantana - Thank you for the info about the date. I read the first part of your message and though "drat, she's skimmed over the date" so was very pleased to find the extra section at the bottom!

Glad it all went well, take it as it comes, enjoy and don't over analyse!!

Oh, and well done on being the biggest loser. Go for it, as you say, you can always back out at a later date, but it's nice to have all your hard work recognised as well as a great boost to the ego!

Haha Seabee, I too wanted to know where the date gossip was!!

Lantanna - You should definitely go for the competition, your loss is fantastic and you should be proud of your achievements!

I haven't had the best weekend food and drink wise but I'm back to my red days until WI now so fingers are crossed. Have decided that I will only be drinking next weekend when I go to see Jack Whitehall, other than that I shall go back to using my syns for food again!

    Morning SW chums!

Well, what a lot has been going on here while I've been busy elsewhere, and you lot don't half natter ;)

So, well done on the losses Pinklady, Trow & Swiper.

Hope the cold gets better soon Trow.

MrsRyan - bad luck for your team's result, and for your player's injury. Hope he improves soon. Hope your meeting with Mgr goes OK.

Meg72 - I think if you can keep your losses small and regular 1-2lb a week, and try to do some form of toning exercise (swimming, yoga, walking, pilates, etc.) and keep your skin moisturised, that's the best you can do to limit loose/wrinkled skin. I don't hold out much hope of my thighs looking great if I lose what I hope to, but I guess that'll just have to be my own collateral damage.

    - So glad the dates have gone well. Step away from the pizza, and get back on track to make this week count. Keep us up to speed with all things romantic :D

Lantanna - So pleased the date finally happened, and while you were wearing size 12 knickers too! Doesn't get much better than that... and he didn't try to remove them on a first date either! From my (not very vast) experience, I think we ladies can often prefer a slow blossoming friendship/relationship, whereas men do seem to have a more 'go for it' attitude. I know my ex, and my partner now both had the attitude that they weren't prepared to let me get away, so made the decision to pursue me fairly quickly. I was a bit blind-sided both times, as I was just enjoying the developing friendship, but with a bit of courage, I let myself go with it, and before I knew it, I was falling head over heels in love. That freaked me out a bit, as I'm a bit of a control-freak, but lovely all the same. Just enjoy the company, and see how things go. At least he seems keen, so that's a positive sign, and you're not wasting time on someone who's not planning to stick around, or a bit of a player.
Also, go for it with the competition, and see what they've got on offer for you.

Well I spent the past few days moving my son into his new flat. Food was grabbed as and when, but when I consider the amount of body magic I did, I'm hoping it will have been balanced out. I definitely got dehydrated, so felt a bit poop after the first day.

I'm currently sat completing an online food shop from Asda (they're offering free delivery :D ). Does anyone have any ideas for some meals, to suit a family of 5 (2 of which won't eat lamb or pork).

Yesterday my youngest lad, who's 13, and has packed on quite a bit of weight in the past couple of years, has said he wants to eat what I am, and to lose weight. His older brother has offered to sponsor him, and they've got a bet going on between them that the older one won't have had his driving test before the younger one hits his WL target (1.5-2 stones). I think the prospect of going to Cornwall in 6 months might have been a positive factor in his decision, plus a lot of his friends are all beginning to physically change, and look more 'rip', so he's feeling he sticks out like a sore thumb. So, I've got the two of us fully on plan now, although wondering what to do for his packed lunches that won't look too odd sat eating amongst friends. Today I did him a tuna sandwich with lettuce, cucumber sticks, WW yogurt, a packet of Skips, and a Jordan's breakfast bar (he can't face breakfast first thing; I know these aren't on plan, but bought prior to him starting SW).

So, it's WI tonight. I'm hoping the 2 MacDonald's meals I had won't have caused too much damage :/ The sooner my son gets a cooker and microwave the better, as we weren't left with much choice.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

How about these, they can all be bulked out with extra veg..
    • lasagne ( I did a chicken enchilada one the other day )
    • cottage pie (carrot and swede mash topping)
    • chicken curry
    • chicken casserole
    • meatballs and spaghetti
    • egg and chips (a fave in this house :D and cheap)
    • chilli con carne
    • chicken thighs and roast veg tray bake
Is your DS doing the adult plan of SW? I think there's a separate one for the kids, sorry young adults ;) I think you get extra healthy extras and syns, MrsRyan was following it some days...

I was wondering if there were any older ladies on here, I am 69 this year and am well aware that my skin is not as elastic as it was, I really want to lose weight as I have arthritis and the pain is so bad some days I just sit in a hot bath and cry. I have lost 2 stone over the last year
which works out at around o.5lb a week and had no real signs of wrinkles .

I love this SW approach but am worried that I am losing weight too quickly for my skin to cope, I have lost 8lb in five weeks and am very
unhappy to have wrinkly thighs. Please anyone my age any advice?

Hi meg. I think I might be classed as an 'older lady' and I understand exactly where you're coming from. First I'd say that your weightloss is only a little above average and it might even slow down a little as time goes on so don't worry about that. I was only thinking yesterday that I don't want wrinkly thighs or tummy (sunshine got me dreaming of my bikini body for June;)) which is why I'm happy to maintain at about half a stone or more than I was when I was younger. I know it's hard for you to exercise but you might be able to walk a bit more when you've lost weight which will tone your legs. I'd suggest you keep going and stop when you've hit a target you're happy with both in terms of wrinkliness (is that a word?) and in easing your arthritis.

Happy Birthday shala. Hope I've got the right day.

Just think lantanna, you could go in the magazine and say the most useful thing you've done is to join an online forum that's far better than SW!! They'd love that!:rotfl:

Just think we could all copy those young lads that wear their jeans hanging down past their bums, so that we could have the tags of our knickers on show!! SW could start a trend!:D

    Will post food later.

Hi there! I am 60, and also have quite bad arthritis. Mine is worst in my hips and hands. Strange combination I know! I lost about 4 stone about 3 years ago and have exactly the same problem, bingo wings too. I know exercising helps to an extent but if your mobility is limited it just can't be helped.

I think your rate of loss is very reasonable, well done you! But your consultant surely will let you up your syns a tad if you explain you want to slow down a bit?

    Best wishes anyway, keep going.

Well I have rejoined and weigh the most I ever have :( 11 st 11lbs

    Set a first target of 10st 7lbs and my club 10 is 10st 8lbs

Baby steps, so I have 18lbs to lose first, never been a big loser but I'm going to try and drink more water and see if that helps.

Just had a jacket spud and beans for lunch, followed by a Muller light.

No salad in, but shopping is coming later.

Bought myself a new mag and am going to spend the afternoon reading
