Greentiger, hate to say it but your "naughties" sound delicious :o toasted plain loaf, mmmm, shortbread, mmmmmm enough now!
As long as you enjoyed them and don't beat yourself up about it.

Valentines dinner was ok, stuck to my plan, had M&S count on us chocolate mousse with strawberries (5syns) and gave OH the Dutch apple tart with cream and since there were two in a packet I gave DD the other one.

And then..... I had another mousse (in my defence, they are soooooo good). And then my other DD offered me some homemade truffels and shoved one or two in  Then I felt the need to munch a bag of baked crisps as well.

I really don't understand myself sometimes. I went through so much effort to organise a Valentines dinner on plan (steak, salad, wedges, choc mousse) and then munch later on anyway.... OH well, just don't have many syns left until Wednesday. It is done.

    Today:
bacon rolls M&S mini subrolls x 2 = HEb, tomatoes

fruit salad, tuna salad - beetroot, lettuce, cucumber etc

wedges, grilled chicken, lots of veg

    fat free yoghurt and fruit

Might make some soup in slowcooker today if I can be bothered, I have lots of housework to do as well.

Have a great weekend and 2b, thanks for the chart. Can't wait for the next challenge.

Thanks shala moo, my mate always tells me not to exercise when dieting but I really want to improve my energy levels and I think your right, inch loss is key, just wish could shift it quicker. Thoroughly disgusted with self so need to turn it around and return to a fitter healthier me. Saying that, my weight has always been an issue but never more so. I'd like to be minimum 4 stone lighter by end of year and size 12-14. I know it's doable but always know it's a long hard slog.

Really enjoyed class, definitely booking for next week, trying to get Dave to come as think he'd enjoy.

  • Good day everyone,

Better frame off mind this morning, poached egg on toast (nimble wholemeal:hexB) for breakfast!! (Ate with the help of my youngest!!)
And for lunch: sausage sandwich, (2 sainsburys be good sausages (1/2syn each) 2pieces nimble whole meal (5syns) and a blob of brown (1syn)!! And a packet of walkers french fries (5syns). (My week end treat).

Going to attempt a KFC chicken tonight! Found a recipe on line in which you use couscous for the breadcrumbs and you add your own herds and spices!! And add with it some good old slimming world chips!! With a big bowlful of slimming world coleslaw!!

I shall post later if tea is a success...

    Xx:):)
  • Hello everyone, this is my first post.

Started back on SW this week, lost 2.5 stone in 2012 but illness has meant that I've regained 1.5 :(

Been cooking like a mad woman for the last couple of days, have made chilli, curry, spag bol for the freezer and loads of salad and jelly for the fridge so there's always something for me to pick up without reverting back to my old ways!!

Excited to be back on plan but my first big test will be tonight at the cinema, have picked up a taste for Tango Ice Blasts in the past year lol. I googled it and the only syn value I can find for them is 13 (!!!) for a small one so will try and stick to bottle of water and some carrot sticks.

Hope everyone is doing well today xxx

Hello, please may I join you?

I have joined a local group a few weeks ago but I am not sure how useful it is going to be, going round the group discussing individual gain/loss doesn't really work for me.
The quality of the 'Image Therapy' depends on the quality of the consultant. Many do nothing more than follow the SW prepared script. It depends on the confidence/experience/energy how much they'll engage in proper discussion. Not something we're ever short of on here!

I think I have picked up far more ideas lurking on here, and the always helpful summary makes you think. Worth a re-read every so often.

At least you've got a new set of books and can go it alone with support from here.

Some contradictions from group as well - she says you can't stockpile your syns for the weekend? I always did and I lost 2 stone in 2 months last time. I have seen that most of you do this as well with great success.

Saving syns is not the official way but it definitely works (it did for me too). I suppose it's a case of whether you can cope with delayed gratification. Lots of people prefer a daily treat.

I tend to do all Original and the push at group is very much to do EE, and lots of focus on processed food which we rarely eat.

I suppose you mean things like Mugshots. I never eat stuff llike that and prefer to cook from scratch. I'm happy with EE but I can see that extra HEXs would be useful.

I struggle with carbs in that I don't like most of them. Bread is my biggest downfall and I really don't like wholemeal :o

My favourite is Seed Sensations as basic wholemeal (like Hovis medium is tasteless pap)

I love being able to eat as much fruit as I want - a real change in mindset for me as I tend to restrict my sugar.

I don't eat too much fruit, mainly because I'm lazy and I think that veg is better for weightloss.

I'm back on plan today, after M&S Valentine's meal.

    EE Menu:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB porage, HEA milk
L: frittata (potatoes, peas, onions, peppers, tomato, mushrooms) with pickles
D: SW burgers, spicy wedges, peas, fried onios, tomatoes, mushrooms
Syns: squirt of syrup, sprinkle of cheese on frittata

I'll have some weekend wine syns later but not sure when as I've promised to pick up DD1 from railway station.

Here is my food for the day:-

    Extra Easy

Breakfast - bacon, loads of mushrooms, scrambled eggs using milk from allowance and tomatoes, 250ml semi skimmed milk (HEA)

Lunch - Soup made with potatoes, carrots, onion, chicken stock, tomato puree, soup pasta and Italian herbs, yummy. 0.5 pack Chinese chicken (1 syn) and 1 Orange Hi-Fi bar (HEB) (don't normally buy these, it was nice but would prefer 2 x Alpen light bars)

    Snack - banana

Tea - Mr T Simply tender beef brisket in ale gravy (Free) with mashed sweet potato, 1 tsp Anchor lighter butter (1.5 syns), carrots, runner beans, broccoli and cauliflower

Snack - Velvet crunch (4 syns)
