Does anyone know the syns value of a medium sized yorkshire pudding, I'm guessing around 6?

We went out on the scooters today and the club that hosted the rideout put on stew and yorkshire puddings when we got back. I only had a small portion and there was plenty of veg in it. Not too worried as I haven't had any other syns today.

I got into my old riding trousers (not enough room for thermals underneath, so didn't wear them) and I won best Vespa. No trophy this time, just a cash prize which I donated back to the clubs nominated charity

All in all, a very good day :)

P.S welcome to the newbies. Frogga - lovely having you back. Good luck with the date Lantanna
  • Yorkshire puddings are 3 syns per ounce SeeBee, so it depends on size Xx

Not long got back from Gloucester, we had a lovely time walking around the docks and city centre and did not spend much either, the most expensive thing was the parking!! LOL. I did like a lovely leather handbag in the outlet part though which was £30 reduced from £60 I was going to have it for my Birthday next week but then I don't often carry a bag (as I have a hubby to pay for things :rotfl: ) so I decided against it, then I also found a lovely coat in the Helly Hanson store for £20 but the biggest size they had was a medium that was too small for me so didn't get that either, don't know what their sizing is mind you as I'm a 14 to 16 and it was quite a bit too small

My food didn't go quite to plan as we didn't feel like carrying a cool box around with us and it stayed in the car, we went into a cafe and I opted for a jacket potato with cheese as I thought this would be the best option but when it came the cheese was rather rubber like and they had put butter on too  Still we are home now and the diet fanta chicken is well under way and although hubby wanted to we have also avoided the prawn toast, wontons etc :A

Hope you all have a good evening, have fun but be good!!!

Evening all! - Every time I write that, I think of Dixon of Dock Green (now you all know I'm no longer a spring chicken!)

Denise: You are so sharp eyed! Thanks for the Ryvita correction; I must have read the wrong line. Oh well, tough luck me. :(

mumoftwo, I know it's too late now, but we had the piri-piri chicken for dinner and it was very tasty too. A big thumbs up from DH! It was very easy to make - I prepared it in the morning and slung it in the oven when we got home from football (a win today - hooray :j), ready in half hour.

Anyway, here's my Review of Saturday's plan

Breakfast: French toast (hexb), banana & maple syrup (1) didn't have any maple so used golden instead. This was VERY scrummy, much to my surprise. Although I only had 1 tsp , I'll count 1.5 syns - it was worth it!
Lunch: cold meat mixed salad, grapes I didn't get up until 11  so I didn't have any lunch. I was nicely replete afte breakfast.
Dinner: piri-piri chicken and wedges, yogurt and a clementine
Snacks: 1 barley sugar sweet on way home from football (to celebrate our win ;), guessing 1 syn, same as werther? - and nothing else so far! That breakfast clearly is amazing!

Total: 2.5 syns, not had hexa so I'll have a couple or 3 of mini babybel (can't remember offhand whether the ones I have are light or not) and the grapes I'd planned for lunch.

    Sunday's menu

    Breakfast: BLT hexb toastie, grapes
Lunch: beany jacket & salad, kiwi
Dinner: Maryland Chicken, wedges and salad (bad planning, almost same as tonight! Hopefully it'll be just as tasty!), yogurt and blueberries

Fingers crossed, we'll all do well tomorrow.

    :T on resisting spending.

It's my birthday next week too so I identified with your thinking. Bags are a good spend when you're losing weight so maybe you should have gone for that but Martin would be proud of you.

I have a Helly Hanson waterprrof jacket that used to be very 'snug' and I'd end up borrowing DH's mansize one instead. I'm telling you this as now my own fits me fine so it's really so worth persevering with the plan.

welshkitty, sorry but can't find that beer on line but I think it's probably fairly low in syns as low alcohol plus the recipe will be shared between you.

Well done on the losses :)

I have managed to have a low syn day (for me) yesterday which means I'm under my syns and not 30+ behind. I also count mine weekly - my consultant says over the week is fine :)
