Thanks for the lovely welcome everybody. I feel at home here already!

That roast was just what I needed! I have counted it as 5 syns as I treated myself to a yorkshire pud, had a little gravy and used a little low fat spread. It was well worth it though! I am treating myself to a small glass of rose topped up with diet lemonade (don't tell my dad - he would tell me off for ruining good wine!).

I'm definitely going to try working the syns over a week. This will be especially helpful as I am going to paris in just under a fortnight, so as long as I save my syns until I am away, I can indulge a little. I love the idea of a syn bin too!

    Glad you enjoyed your roast.:)

Loads of us on here save syns and it definitely works. It's sort of frowned on in official channels but I think that's because some people prefer a treat every day. If you can handle delayed gratification then it'll be should be fine.;) I work on a 'syn bank' of 105 on WI day and then subtract from that through the week. if I'm honest, most of mine are used for weekend wine:j(and I'm with your Dad on ruining good wine:eek:) and some gravy and sauces. You can have a great time in Paris on 105 syns! Just try and avoid the bread. I find the traditional hotel breakfasts where there's little on offer but bread and croissants the hardest but if you stay in one of the chains then they tend to have ham and often eggs and fruit.

Boo! I plan on eating a lot of yoghurt, which brands are free pls

Sorry to hog the thread, I'm waiting while my supper's cooking.;)

Onken fat free natural is free it's the flavoured ones that have syns, depending on the flavour between 5-8 syns a pot.

I don't eat yogurt myself much but when I do it's natural with berries and sweetener.

Lots of Muller lights are free ( swear SW has shares in them) but I buy my DH Brooklea fat free from Aldi as he likes it on cereal with fruit and that's free if I fancy any.

Loads of people on here have yogurt regularly so I'm sure other brands will soon become available!

That's fine it says Special thai sweet chilli rice on line and it's definitely 2 syns.

That is brilliant news! thank you ;) I am not usually a fan of ready made things like pasta, rice etc but this was actually quite nice, it had a nice flavour and I added in some mixed veg.

Thanks for the advice. I find some days I am happy to go without any treats at all, but somedays I just NEED a sweet treat! I was always under the impression that I couldn't save my syns on sw, so in the past have just used them for the sake of it. I think it will work much better for me using them over a week.

We are actually going to disney. I have found a really good website that shows the menus for the restaurants there. We are planning to eat at both of the steakhouses, so I should be fine there. I think breakfast will be my problem. I know I can have the cold meats and fruit, but it will be difficult for me to say no to the croissants and bread. I am hoping that I wont do too much damage though as we will be walking around most of the day.

Tazzy I eat a lot of yogurt. I find it a nice easy snack to have when I am feeling peckish, it's useful to grab and go for a quick breakfast, or I save them for a supper.

The Muller Lights are all in the majority free. The cheesecake style ones are mostly 1 syn each, and the Greek style are 0.5 syns.

I really like Greek style yogurts, so am happy to use 1 or so syns on a really large, and what seems like rather indulgent yogurt, and my favourites are the Danio 0% yogurts which are 1.5 for the cherry or passion fruit, and 1 for the strawberry (make sure it's the 0% though).

My new find in Asda this week have been Total 0% split pots, which are really lovely and 2 syns, but it's a big pot with 170g.

Other more indulgent yogurts I like to have, that feel wickedly indulgent for few syns are the Activa Creamy ones (the banana toffee one is lush), and they are 2.5 syns.

The Liberte greek yogurts (4 packs) are only 1 syn each, they have a nice fruit layer on the bottom.

The Weight Watchers yogurts are all free, but the Greek style fromage frais are 2 for the lemon or Coconut, and 1.5 syns for the strawberry.

Activia 0% are free, except the rhubarb and the toffee banana both are 0.5 syns. Steer clear of the pouring yogurt, it's about 5 syns for 130g

I tend to use my syns on something like this, as well as gravies, and dressings, as there's so much choice with free food, and they can be quite filling, but feel like a treat for very few syns.

    Hope that helps!
