Morning all - I made a smoked cod chowder last night and it was fab!
Just in case anyone wants the recipe
1 x onion fried in FL
4 or 5 potatoes chopped up into cubes
1 x tin of sweetcorn (big or small to your taste)
3 x largeish tomatoes cup up into cubes
cook all this in stock until the veggies are soft...then add in (I think it was 250g) of smoked cod. This cooks in a few minutes.
I used a tablespoon of cornflour in about 50ml of milk to thicken it but it's not really crucial.
Season to taste - bar the cornflour it's syn free and delish!0 -

I came on here as I'm seriously considering joining SW and wanted to get a feel for it, is there a summary or anything on here I could look at, I hear the extra easy one is good - is anyone on here doing that one?
there's some brilliant weight losses on here so you must all be doing something really good! xxx
Have a look at post #2 on Page 1 of the thread - there is a quick guide to the plans which you may find useful.
Have altered by menu plan for today slightly!
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB1 - bread
HEB2 - semi dried apricots
Realised once I started chopping up the veg for my tagine that it needs some sweetness in it as well as the spices so will be using the apricots for this. If it needs any more sweetness will add some honey as well but doesn't usually need it.

I'm veggie and doing EE - you get an extra HEA and HEB to make sure you're getting enough as obviously the free foods are a bit more limited. At least I think I'm doing EE - the consultant just said extra HE foods!
Marywooyeah, it's probably quite hard to describe the plan without you seeing the book, but when you've got that it's fairly straightforward. Lots of veg and fruit, limited amounts of the Healthy Extras, and a few treats - syns.
It's quite a bit about changing your way of thinking and eating a lot more homemade food rather than weighing or measuring.
That's quite confusing. What you consultant is describing is Green. It's definitely only one of each HEA and HEB on Extra Easy. So I suppose Green is EE without fish and meat with the bonus of an extra HEA and B to provide nutrients. In a way she's still encouraging you to have the one third fruit and veg but I worry a bit that maybe she doesn't understand SW. There's a lot of it about!:rotfl:
I'm having a good day today as I'm out for lunch (again)tomorrow. Fortunately it's with a friend who is rather staid and frugal so it's more likely to be a tearoom or garden centre than a pub. Hopefully we'll go somewhere with JPs or salads but I'll have to avoid the cakes.
Planning to call into just weigh and go at a different class tonight. I really can't let it drag on. I have to know how much holiday gain I'm dealing with.
My EE plan:
B: NAS Ribena, scrambled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk
L: not planning much, may just snack on fruit or fry up a few veg with pickles. I need to make some soup for the freezer soon.Spaghetti Bolognese
Syns: squirt of HP sauce and scrape of parmesan but probably enough HEA left for that.0 -

Probably trying not to confuse me then! 2 of each is nice and easy to understand. I'm on another 6 (3/4 HEA and 2/3 HEB) as well because of breastfeeding. To be honest I don't usually manage to eat that many! That'll be a help when my baby starts eating solids because then I have to start dropping some of them.
Technically I may not be doing EE then. But I'm certainly eating lots of healthy food, loads of the free and superfrees, and lost half a stone so far so it's working:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Hiiii
So i'm back. Again.
Anyway.. today is my new weigh in day, so will starting today.
i have about 2 stone to go but will get there!
I have found a new motivation, instead of attending the group (all the ones near me are when i have silks, my new found sports obsession!) so i have my mum charting my losses (gives her something to do too as she is quite poorly) and i have been putting my £5 that i would use in group in a sealed jar that i will use to treat myself to a new wardrobe once i have got to my target weight
Anyway just thought i would check in here again as you guys are so supportive and a great bunch!£0.00/£2014 saved!

Hi everyone, not read back.
Well my SW "holiday" resulted ina 2lb gain yesterday, as expected.
Didn't stick to plan yesterday - not even remotely. Tonight I'm going to an unxepected bbq, so that'll no doubt be outwith SW too.
Must try harder tomorrow.
Good luck everyone else.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -
Hi
I would like to join you if I may. I started on SW in May with a three month online subscription but although I stated well I totally lost the plot in June and am now 2lbs heavier than when I started!!!
So back on the plan now that son's birthdays are out of the way and I have been on holiday. Have 7 weeks til I go back to work so hoping to make this a w way of life before I go back (Scottish School Holidays).
I am on the EE plan and so far today my plan is/was
Breakfast: 2 x LM red onion and rosemary sausage, 2 rashers of bacon, with a mushroom, cherry tomato omlette, latte (2.5 syns)
snack - none too full from brekkie
lunch - chicken breast with spring onions, cucumber and UB Golden rice (2.5 syns)
dinner - baked potato with tuna mayonnaise (0.5 syn for Hel LTL mayo mixed with natural yoghurt pepper and lemon juice) and salad, followed by strawberries, raspberries and ML yoghurt
snack - ryvita (HEB) with cream cheese (1 syn)
HEa - 250ml semi skimmed milk
Total syns for today: 6.5
syns for the week: 39.5 had 65.5 left
Annie - could you add me in to the challenge please. I would like to be down for 14lbs which would give me my first stone and be in the next stone down bracket.

Well done on all your losses this week everyone!
My weigh in is tomorrow but haven't done well this week. Went to a wedding on Saturday and the venue had no diet coke/lemonade (very strange!!) and so was having to have 'proper' lemonade, also had water though, plus the champagne for toasts!! The food was lovely but not SW friendly!
Also the rest of the week I haven't been too focused but then my partner and I didn't stay to group last week so maybe that didn't help either.
Oh well, will see what the scales say tomorrow!!Slimming World Member - Started 05/02/150 -
So today ended up a bit different to my loose plan but still alright;
B: tea (milk from HeA) and a banana (wasn't feeling too cracking)
l: 1/2 pack lidl med veg cous cous (it's about 2.5 syns a pack so I'll call what I had today 1.5) plus ham and beetroot, 2 finger kit kat (5.5) and a ginger nut (3?) and a few grapes
t: half a baked chicken breast with brown rice and 1/2 a steam fresh veg packet, 1 syn extra light mayo
total syns:11
body magic: approximately 2 mile walk with bf - including pushing bf up a steep as anything car park! about 90mins/close to 2hrs gardening
Going to have a few grapes, strawberries and a satsuma or two shortly but got to put wonder bairn to bed and sort the kitchen/laundry first
I'll pop back and edit in my plan for tomorrow ...************************************
