Your long post above is really, really inspiring Lantana.
    I read it twice!
Brilliant that you are now a healthy size and want to put the past behind you. Great that you don't need to go to the group (I totally get that!) and also that you feel you can use sw as a long term healthy eating plan. Enjoy the exercise and your good health xxx

Thank you, just think all you lovely people will be able to say similar things in the future as well!!!

I was a Size 20 busting out of it in fact and now I'm a 12 I'm happy with that - I never thought I'd be a Size 12, I've always been a Size 16 upwards as an adult - in my head I probably feel like a Size 16. I'm broad shouldered and medium boned and I would probably start to look really sick if I went much smaller than a 12 though. I might end up a Size 10 on the bottom but I could never be a Size 8 all over etc I'm just not built that way. I've always been curvy and always had a substantial rack - it isn't going anywhere lol.

I am who I am and its time to embrace that. And learn to love me for bad - bad bits and all. (I'm fairly off on one today lol)

Yes I've lost 6 stone but it didn't come off overnight. I got my 6 stone award in April. I have been significantly different for all of 2014. This is the new me - the old me is gone. Its done, goodbye to her - I don't want to be pointed at anymore - yes I have lost weight but that girl is gone - this is the new me now and she is staying so get used to it world coz I have.

The SW way of eating is ingrained into my head and I am certain that I will eat that way forever now. It is an effective way of losing weight and I appreciate that support and groups vary etc.

I think you've made a wise choice. If your target is hard to maintain, IMO it's because it's too low. It depends on all sorts of factors, not least 'age'....... skinny doesn't go with age :rotfl: (not that I'm suggesting you're old at all).

Like you I was a 20/22 for many years and lost 4+ stone which took me to a comfortable 14. For me it was enough and now, 10 years on, I know for a fact that any lower than a 14 and I would look like a wrinkled hag.

Each to their own, and I'm glad you've finally found what makes you happy. Good luck with everything and keep posting :D
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Eeek not been on here since Monday!

Wizkid I have my syns - usually around 10 per day. I tried lowering the amount and found I lost less weight.

Sorry to see you go shala_moo thanks for doing the charts.

Anne thanks for taking up the challange from shala . I am going for 16lb pls. ]

Welcome dumpling - I am another online SW member.

Hiya gingerfurball, little miss and beckstar

Huge hugs meg72, must be a hard time for you but we are all here for you.

It was half a pound on for me on Wednesday weigh in. Sure gain was due to not having enough super free or drinking enough water. Back on it now, and have started exercising again. 3 stone is one of my targets and like my last target I am hovering so close! This happened with 2 stone.

This last week has been the nearest I have been to going totally off plan and having a massive binge. Having loads of staff issues with my business so stressed and tired from having to work extra hours. Just been invited to a super posh party by one of my suppliers end of August so have decided to use that as a goal point.

Breakfast - wheatbix, skimmed milk, water melon
Lunch - jacket pot, beans, banana
tea - super rice, chicken, salad with feta.

Syns - olives 6, caramel snack a jacks 5 syns, hot chocolate 2, skimmed milk 2 TOTAL 15

Yep, started Monday, runs to end Aug, let me know in red what you goal is and I'll add you to the chart with this weeks loss

    Thank you Annie.

Could you put me down for 20lb loss please.

Aiming a bit high, but gotta push myself.

I went back to running today after a break for my holiday, so hopefully the extra exercise will help with the losses.

I will update weight each Tuesday.

    Thank you again

    Hello everyone

Well done Lantanna on reaching this decision. Move on and enjoy the new you. You deserve it. :T

Still thinking of you and your friend Meg.

Well done too to everyone reporting losses for the start of the new challenge.

Feeling quite meh here. Had drs phone appt this morning and he is changing my meds and I have to see him on Monday as there is a possibility he his going to admit me to hospital for iv antibiotics. :( Only had one of the new pills and I've had to run off to the loo - daren't stray too far from home. Sorry tmi for teatime.

Hubby has made the minced beef hash for tea and it was a great success.

Bought a pack of the little bars of Cadburys Dairy Milk (6 pack) - think they are about 5.5 syns just in case I need a little treat. ;)

    Take care everyone

I'll still be here ranting though, I'm sure you will all be delighted for me to hear!!

    I'm delighted!!:T

I agree that you should call target especially as your group sounds horrible. As you said, you have the SW way of eating ingrained so you'll be able to enjoy your Chinese curries and other treats and then rein yourself back if your clothes start feeling a bit tight.

My target weight is 10st 7 and most of my clothes are a size 12 but I have 10s and 14s as well depending on the style and brand. I could easily go lower but like consultant says I don't want to look scrawny and that's what tends to happen to my arms, thighs and neck if I'm too thin.

    My EE plan for today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB Shreddies, HEA milk
    L: ham, pickles, fried veg
D: SW burger and chips with tomatoes, fried onions, mushrooms and peas
Syns: squirt of HP sauce, weekend booze (I'm having G&T instead of wine to keep the syns down;))

Have strawberries to snack on if I'm peckish.

Well done, Lantanna. You're right, you're not an exhibit in a museum, you're a real live, living, breathing person. To paraphrase what Mildredd says, nobody's perfect (well, except the Stepford Wives and you don't want to go there). When you have the confidence to say that this is me, then you are a success, you are in control. You don't need the crutch of SW any more. You know you can do things your way.

    Anyway
    Friday's Menu
Breakfast: ML orange & dark choc sprinkles yogurt
Lunch with friend: cabbage and Irish bacon soup - delicious but I'm sure will have had syns, hexb wholemeal roll with egg mayonnaise (3 syns) and tomato
Dinner: chilli con carne and boiled rice
Snack: big French cake (but in my defence there was none of the creamy stuff on it, lol) - 10 syns??????

still to have hexa, so I'll go for my standby of mini babybel lights with grapes

    Total: guessing 20
Syns bank balance: 35.5 for 3 days

    I have just read back,

Meg, so sorry to hear your friend's news. I am sure that with your support she will do well. Please let us know how she is getting on. There is nothing worse than seeing someone you care for battling cancer. It is the most evil thing :(

On the subject of SW groups, I feel uncomfortable on behalf of a woman at the meeting I go to when they mention her 5 stone weight loss every single week. The woman still looks so miserable, and I think our consultant should notice that and stop making an example of her.

I used to work as a leader for WW and I used to call my gold members the night they got to goal to see how they felt. It's really easy to assume that getting to goal, or getting to target makes you instantly happy, but the reality is that it might not, as many of you have mentioned. It's also easy to fall into the trap of using those big losers as an example of how good you are as a leader, and how well the diet works.

I didn't start putting on weight until after I gave up being a leader, as WW wouldn't stand for us being too far over goal, something I don't think SW minds as much. Perhaps a SW consultant who is struggling is showing their human side and it makes people feel more comfortable admitting that it is hard to lose weight.

Anyway, that's my opinion, losing weight isn't easy for most of us, but it's getting there eventually that matters, not how long it takes. In an ideal world we could click our heels together and be instantly whatever we want to be :D. I would have shorter legs, so I could find trousers in the right length, oh, and I would have straight hair that fell into place instantly when I brushed it, rather than hair that makes me look like Ronald McDonald (but in brown, not red!!)

Shala, if you pop in, thank you for the challenges so far. Xx

    Have a great weekend everyone
