I've downloaded an app for my smartphone called Runkeeper, its totally free and tracks you when out for walks as well as runs. Tracks you through GPS and uses the data, it works out how far you've walked, how long it took and the av speed and calories burnt. You can add friends on the app like facebook, which has certainly added a bit of gentle competition between me and a couple of pals also losing weight!!

I use that as well, its fab!!!
Morning all - well hubby and I are heading away on holidays this afternoon for 10 days...we're going half board so not sure how the diet will go...but I will get lots of training done (running and there is a daily yoga class and spinning at the gym at the hotel) so hopefully that'll counteract any damage done with food.

Not sure how the challenge will go with this at the start but I'll do my best!! There's good wifi at the hotel (we're going to Lanzarote) so I'll check in :D

Enjoy your holiday & dont worry about staying on plan, remember its a lifestyle change :D.

PS my WI is Monday so this Mondays weight was my starting weight for the challenge.

  • Thanks for the kind words everyone. It's a strange feeling as tomorrow is the actual due date but knowing it was twins they would probably have arrived early so tomorrow wouldn't really have been 'arrival day' if you know what I mean. It was my 3rd miscarriage and I'm not sure if I will try again (I already have 2 lovely boys), but it's in the back of my mind that losing the weight now will help if we do try again. Hugs to you Gelly.

Lantanna, whoop whoop for the date!! Good luck!!

    Yay MiT, you found us!!

    Today's Green Day menu

B - 2 Ryvita Fruit Crunch (HEB1), spread with chocolate Philadelphia (3.5syns for 25g) and chopped banana.

    Snack - HiFi Bar (HEB2)

L - pasta arribiata with onions, mushrooms and peppers, topped with 2 xHEA cheese.

D - Linda McCartney Red Onion and Thyme sausages, new potatoes, brocolli, carrots, asparagus, baby corn, mangetout and mushy peas.

Will build some fruit in too and might spend the rest of my syns on a merringue nest and squirty cream.

Denise- a monthly plan? My head fries at a weekly plan :/x

It takes some doing but I've been meal planning for so long now that I just find it easier to sit down with a few cookery books/mags and a list of what I have in the fridge/freezers/cupboards and do a month at a time. That way we don't end up having the same things over and over which we used to end up with when I was doing plans weekly. I try not to repeat things too often over the month. For example we might have curry 2 or 3 times over the month but they will all be different, like this month there will be pork curry (which we've already had); a chicken curry and a veg curry.

I also try to put in a few vegetarian meals over the month so I can have Green days and have cheese on toast for lunch with my extra HEA & HEB.

I keep meaning to set up a spreadsheet with all the different meals I do and keeping them in columns of similar types, then I could just pick out say 20 meals for the month which would leave a few days when we could just have stuff which has previously been frozen as a ready meal.

Anyway that's enough about menu planning:D. Just about to have another cuppa and then off to make falafals for taster morning tomorrow.

    Hi all
Was planning to be really good today- however I got a call about an hour ago from my best mate telling me that a mutual friend of ours, who I was close to, passed away suddenly from pneumonia a few days ago.It was an enormous shock and have done nothing but cry ever since and certainly don't feel like eating. Waiting for uni to call me back about something and then going for a long walk to clear my head. Has just made me realise life is too short.
Sorry for sounding a bit miserable. Hope you're all doing ok x

I do a 4-weekly one as well because we are paid monthly then do a big cookathon one weekend. I do have a wee excel programme which has taken a long time to set up but only takes me 30 minutes maximum now to meal plan :D
