    Does that sound ok?

That looks very light on SuperFrees (SFs). I agree with Meg it doesn't look a lot to be eating but as Mrs R says you may have a small appetite! It doesn't look as though you're really having 3 meals a day more like 3 snacks a day.

It certainly looks more like a Green day than an EE day, in which case you need to have 2 HEBs, although you don't need to worry so much about the SFs but to be quite honest the SFs are what you should use to fill you up. Things like salads, lots of veg with your meals and some fruit.

I know you're disappointed to have only lost 1.5lb but I, and many others, got to target losing 0.5 - 1lb a week! SW themselves say you should aim to lose no more than 1-2lb a week so you're certainly on track.

Are you completing your food diary and handing into your Consultant each week? If you're not you really need to, at least for the first few weeks, so that (s)he can give you ideas on where you can do better.

Back to EE again today. DH is out until late today so not sure what time he'll be home so I'll be prepping everything and then cooking once he gets in - just hoping he's not too late!

B - magic porridge with strawberries & banana (HEB)
L - LO veggies, dry fried eggs & baked beans
D - HM pizza (9 syns!), SW chips, salad

Snacks: strawberries, grapes, crustless quiche (will probably need this mid afternoon with DH being late home for dinner)

HEA - milk in teas throughout the day
Syns: pizza base (1/4 of pizza) 4; chorizo sausage 1, low fat mozzarella cheese 2.5, low fat cheddar cheese 1.5

Really looking forward to the pizza as haven't had any since I started SW 4 years ago!!!!

Just popped in to say well done to everyone on losses so far, My second weigh in tomorrow, hoping to get my half stone award, so hoping for at least 3lb loss.

My partner lost 8lb in his first week and is going for his stone award. Also if he gets over 5lb loss he will set a record in group for most weight lost in two weeks so he is aiming high!

I am off to Chessington today, got my packed lunch and water ready! I wonder what my sister and niece will eat in front of me today that I will salivate over!

Helendavekids – That sounds like my kind of meal. Think I might have fajitas’ after wi tomorrow or spag bol – oh the excitement of my life!! :j
Meg72 – Lol There is a lovely lady in a group who had a mastectomy a few years ago and always removes her padding (not sure of the correct terminology) before wi. She is so funny just flips it out onto the floor!
Need to make a shopping list today and meal plan. Funds tight as usual so have to be creative – think this is where I’ve went wrong over the last month or so – have stopped planning and just started randomly eating. All connected to my flippin mood though – so good to note I’m thinking about doing it again. :(
Greentiger - Lol – I’ll be singing like a canary if I have anything off!! :j
Hostie – Yes it does work, but you need to count your syns and eat lots of superfree. Eating the superfree is key I think. I eat carbs with every meal but have a smaller portion than what I used to pre sw. For example when I am really on it I will have 25/30g of pasta / a medium baked potato / 30g of rice as the carb portion of my meal. This seems to work for me!! This has just reminded me I need to start using my scales and weighing out my portions as I have kind of stopped the last while. Must give myself a little slap.
When I started SW I was a wine drinker and changed to Gin / Vodca, I found that this really helped me – if you enjoy your wine – just make sure you syn it.
I agree with the exercise theory – you should see a loss next week.
Denise - 4 years!!! I’ve had 2 pizzas since April 2013 and I thought that was bad – they were Asda ones !! Enjoy. :D

I'm wondering if slimming world really works?

Can you really eat that much food and lose weight? And eat that many carbs?

This was my first week (just weighted in) and I lost 1 1/2 lb but I did MASSES of exercise (28 mile cycle, started jogging, walking). Thought I would have lost a bit more :(

My two friends didn't really follow the plan but both seemed to really cut what they were eating and both lost 4 1/2 lb.

Feeling a bit dispondent. I am bigger than them (12.12) but I do drink a lot of alcohol and neither of them drink.

I only lost 1.5lb way back in my very first week - the next week I lost 6lb and got my 1/2st award - it does work, honest!

be very careful with alcohol syns and make sure you're using the right values for what you have

Thank you for replying to my little distress call.
I had a bottle of sparkling wine on Friday so did go over my syns, then yesterday went over again with 3-4 glasses of sparkling wine.

I made masses of fat free hummus today and ate about two tins worth before I went to the weigh in so maybe that made a difference. Or maybe it is just harder for my metabolism to lose weight.

Interesting point about muscles retaining water. I haven't really done much exercise before so that might be something.

It is inspiring to see all your losses. I guess I just wonder if people really are sticking to the slimming world plan and eating unlimited amounts of things and still losing weight.

    Today I had:
    boiled egg for breakfast
soya milk in coffee at work hea
    cherries
beans on one slice of wholemeal toast heb
    banana
massive tub of home made fat free hummus (chick peas, water, lemon juice, garlic)
    Thai mug shot
    Muller light vanilla
    Alprosoy choc d!sert (5 syns)
    Sparkling water

    Does that sound ok?

I would say you're definitely not eating or drinking anywhere near enough!

Meg, was hostie not just referring to today's plan as I see no wine on it?
Some people do have smaller appetites. My mum eats tiny meals and she's lost 11.5 stone with SW so what seems little to one person can be perfectly sufficient to others. She makes me slightly bigger meals with more free/Sf as that's what I'm used to eating but her own meals are way smaller and she doesn't starve in fact far from it!

it may be that your mum was so successful as she started SW with such a small appetite? and hostie has cut her intake mistakenly thinking she has to for a 'diet' inwhich case her body may try to stockpile

    Morning!
Hi lush- nope Mum has always had a er- healthy appetite :D but she says herself as she's lost her appetite has decreased. I'm the same to some extent- I used to have an enormous appetite- I would eat a huge plate of stuff and still be looking for stuff to eat but now my portions are a lot smaller and they're satisfying enough. Mum retrained as a chef after she stopped nursing (although she had always been an amazing cook, she makes the most beautiful meals and can whip up something out of nothing) but she always ate good big portions.

Wow no pizza for 4 years, now that's what I call super restraint. I just love pizza and was making them using an asdas pitta bread as a base, it was a healthy extra but isn't now. I was given a recipe using smash asd a base but haven't tried it yet.
