    Cheers Beanie and Meg

Mrs_Ryan, I suppose the Morrisons is at the junction between North Shields and Tynemouth! It was the one you've described opposite the pool I was thinking of. There is also a Sainsburys local not far from the Sea Life Centre Xx

Loved this.. what a numpty :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Can anyone tell me about Quinoa on SW? is it free? I made the nicest porridge with it the other day.

I don't think it's food abuse as there are a lot normal recipes for quinoa porridge and it's only cooked in water and mixed with yogurt like the breakfast rice is. *fingers crossed it's free*:D

Anyway i'll try and keep up with all from tomorrow..

I'm wondering if slimming world really works?

Can you really eat that much food and lose weight? And eat that many carbs?

This was my first week (just weighted in) and I lost 1 1/2 lb but I did MASSES of exercise (28 mile cycle, started jogging, walking). Thought I would have lost a bit more :(

My two friends didn't really follow the plan but both seemed to really cut what they were eating and both lost 4 1/2 lb.

Feeling a bit dispondent. I am bigger than them (12.12) but I do drink a lot of alcohol and neither of them drink.

    Did you syn the alcohol?

Firstly, well done on the weight loss. Even if you are disappointed with the amount, you have still lost weight.

What did you eat last week before you joined? If you had a heavy syns week that may still be showing on the scales. How many syns did you have this week? What kind of alcohol did you drink, can you swap to something lower in syns?

Don't be disheartened, you might have a big week two loss Xx

    Great, thank you!!

    Hostie -
Lots of people say that exercise slows down their weight losses especially if you haven't done any exercise before you started SW, something to do with water retention to protect your muscles, it may be this.

Feel free to post your daily food menus up if you feel comfortable doing it, we may be able to give you some pointers.

1.5lb is a good loss, btw, keep going. :T

Ah bless, yes it does work if you do it properly you must have done something right to lose 1.1/2 lb, that's a good loss. it maybe that the exercise has worked against you a little bit, as apparently you can carry more fluid to protect your joints.

Just keep going it will happen, look at some of the amazing losses
    people on here have had.

Alcohol is very high in syns, not sure what you mean by a lot, but if you keep it under or at your syn allowance it will work.

Thank you for replying to my little distress call.
I had a bottle of sparkling wine on Friday so did go over my syns, then yesterday went over again with 3-4 glasses of sparkling wine.

I made masses of fat free hummus today and ate about two tins worth before I went to the weigh in so maybe that made a difference. Or maybe it is just harder for my metabolism to lose weight.

Interesting point about muscles retaining water. I haven't really done much exercise before so that might be something.

It is inspiring to see all your losses. I guess I just wonder if people really are sticking to the slimming world plan and eating unlimited amounts of things and still losing weight.

    Today I had:
    boiled egg for breakfast
soya milk in coffee at work hea
    cherries
beans on one slice of wholemeal toast heb
    banana
massive tub of home made fat free hummus (chick peas, water, lemon juice, garlic)
    Thai mug shot
    Muller light vanilla
    Alprosoy choc d!sert (5 syns)
    Sparkling water

    Does that sound ok?
