If you add a couple of pickled onions (I kid you not!) it will taste just like Heinz tomato soup:D. Our consultant made this one morning at group, just opened the cans, tipped them into a blender and blitzed then heated up in the microwave in a jug.

Really Pickled onions, OK will give it a go next time.

Yep! My consultant added 5 because the jar of onions she'd bought were quite small! So it's 2 Big ones or 4 or 5 small ones.

I added worcestershire sauce - about a tbsp, 3 silversking onions and a teaspoon of the pickled onion vinegar to the 3 tin mix.

I'm on day 3 of the current batch of soup and it tastes better every day!

    Hi all

I have not dropped out of the challenge, I am on holiday at the mo and so won't be weighing until next Tuesday, a couple of hours after I land. Food here (Las Vegas) is not really fitting in with the plan, but I can't wait to get back on to it.

Will post the tragic truth next Tuesday :D

    Good afternoon,

thanks for the support lovely peeps, it means a lot. Great idea Shala about making a list about why you want to lose weight and what is more important: the biscuit, bread, cake extra munch or another lb off?
    I'll definitely be doing that.

Was at work today (in a school) and it was cake and candy day, so confronted with cakes and goodies all day. But I didn't take any money to work and politely declined offers of generosity ;)
    so stayed on plan.:A
Head teacher told me today, I can start my new job after the summer holidays, so happy but also scared that I am just too fat, I need to keep telling myself not to panic and one day at a time.

this lovely weather is good for staying on plan, I love salads and its easier to keep busy and do things other than eating.

    I've doing red day today:

    b: banana, fried egg
l: mackerel salad (the smoked one from Aldi that someone on here said was free) kiwi, blueberries
t: Morrison's low fat sausages made into meatballs(2 syns) with lots of veg

HEa: milk (going to make a Frappuccino) and laughing cow triangles
HEb: great white bread toast with ham and tomato

    syns: 2 "nice" biscuits - 4 syns
    vlfmayo: 1 syn
I am sure I can find a few syns somewhere, lol

I better shift myself, so much to do.

Keep going, eat well, be kind to yourself

Well done losers:T will post the chart again later..

Good luck for weigh in Lantanna and congrats LLS for passing you theory :j:j

I'm on my 4th day of behaving so i'm pleased :T managed to lose 3 of my 6lbs i'd put back on :o

I've kind of applied some rules to myself to try and keep on the straight and narrow, will type them up incase it can help anyone else
    • write down WHY you want to lose weight - read it a few times a day to remind yourself
    • if you're tempted by off-plan food then read your reasons - are they more important or is the food more important?
    • plan meals the night before and stick to it, don't eat anything off plan - if you want bad food then plan it for the next day, chances are by then you won't want it
    • congratulate yourself for a doing well, if you've stuck to plan or turned down a biscuit then acknowledge it and feel proud - do this everyday not just when you've lost weight
    • it's ok to be hungry for a bit (i know this isn't a SW thing but i want to learn how to eat properly again and filling myself up till i'm stuffed isn't a good thing)
I don't know if those sound a bit preachy but they've definitely helped me this week, i've turned down a greggs and everything!! :rotfl:

The big one for me is the "is food more important than being thin" thing.. i'm very good at being in denial about how big i am so it really makes me think before i stuff my face and acknowledge that i'm not where i want or need to be..

Anyway that was all a bit deep for a Thursday lunch time wasn't it! :rotfl:

    Hope everyone's ok..

Agree with all of the above shala_moo, congrats to the to everyone losers or gainers, for the pounds shed or the commitment to continue.
For me it's the look in the mirror which I hate doing and reaffirming that I need to do this for me, not for anyone else, health wise and that one day I will not hate looking in the mirror. Baby steps!:o

Hi recently joined SW after deciding that I needed to do something drastic about losing weight! First WI was last week and I lost 4.5lbs! This may have been more, but it was my TOTM and I always retain lots of fluid. Hoping that tmrws WI is a good one!

Just a question - does anyone else's leader encourage you to lose more than the recommended 2 lbs per week? I know that we are there to lose weight, however, I have always been told that it is not healthy to lose much more than this a week. When people were asked if they had a target this week and it was 2 or 3 lbs, they were encouraged to up it to 4 or 5 lbs
    .

Well done on that first week's loss :T I don't agree with pushing people to say they want to lose more than they actually do. If (and probably when) they fail to achieve, it can leave them feeling bad, which is very counter-productive :(

    Hi All,

I'm new so forgive me if this question has been asked before, I am doing the original and green days style of slimming world and I am exercising a lot, has anyone else experienced their weight loss slowing or staying the same whilst doing sw and exercise?

    Thanks in advance.
    T

When you do unaccustomed exercise, your muscles hold extra water to protect them from harm (or so I've been told by someone in the know). It should settle down in a week or two but do keep a note of your measurements so that, even if the scales are not kind, you can see the results of your efforts in the tape measure :D
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
