I made the crispy pancakes last week. I made up half the beef mix and half the pancake mix. They were quite tasty but there was far too much beef mixture to go in the pancakes! I also made bigger pancakes than it said in the magazine and there was still too much. I would think the mixture would probably be enough to make 8 filled pancakes the size stated.

I'll probably make them again some time but will probably make 4 and freeze 2 for later.

I've made the mince using half the stated amount and thought the same! There's a lot of it. How were the pancakes? Is the flour enough to offset the eggyness so it doesn't taste omelettey?

    Hi All,

I'm new so forgive me if this question has been asked before, I am doing the original and green days style of slimming world and I am exercising a lot, has anyone else experienced their weight loss slowing or staying the same whilst doing sw and exercise?

    Thanks in advance.

FREE on Extra Easy and Original Plans
    For the meatballs
3 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
    450g/1lb extra lean minced pork
    1tsp ground cumin
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
    Low calorie cooking spray
    For the sauce
1 small onion, peeled and chopped
1 garlic clove, peeled and crushed
    1 carrot, peeled and chopped
    2 celery sticks, sliced
    400g can chopped tomatoes
    1. Place the garlic, mince, spices and seasoning in a bowl and, using your fingers, mix until combined. Season well. Cover and chill for an hour.
    2. Meanwhile make the tomato sauce. Place all the ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer gently for 25-30 mins stirring occasionally. Season well. Place in a blender and blitz until smooth.
    3. Using your fingers, shape the mince mixture into balls. Spray a non stick frying pan with low cal spray and place over a medium heat. Add the meatballs and fry for 2-3 minutes or until browned.
    4. Add the meatballs to the sauce and simmer gently for 8 - 10 minutes.

    That's the one :D

I knew it didn't have much in the way of herbs and spices in as Top Boy is a wee fuss pot when it comes to stuff like that and he loved these last time.

    Thanks again anyway Sugarpuss!

On plan 100% today so far

    B - Mushroom omelette

D - SW bacon, mushroom, red onion and mixed pepper quiche, tikka turkey chunks and salad, pineapple and kiwi chunks and a muller light

T - Pork meatballs and spaghetti or SW chips, melon chunks

HEXA - 1/2 milk in omelette + a drink, 1/2 cheese in quiche
HEXB - Nothing yet, trying to avoid bread, maybe Alpen lights or benefit bars later

Syns - Options (2) and possibly a deli box of noodles (1.5)
No probes, I think you have the recipe that I used before, sounds very familiar. Enjoy

We found them OK but if you don't like omlettes you might find them a bit eggy.

We've come up with a plan for our weekend away in respect of keeping Syn's to a minimum. The family have arrAnged a few sarnies and cake at pub after the internment so hubs and I have decided to eat before this. We will have breakfast before we leave on Saturday and call in at Mr t and get a cooked chicken and some made up salad then we can stop along the way and eat so that when the goodies come round in the afternoon we won't be as tempted. There is not a lot of choice in the area so will have a Chinese takeaway then it's just a matter of choosing a sw friendly breckie at the b&b on Sunday. Visit extended family and then call in again to Mr t on the way home for more chicken and salad.
Any ideas for the lowest syn Chinese takeaway would be really helpful.
Trying to plan well ahead so that I don't do much damage.

Just back from WI -2lbs please Shala.

Just 6lb to club 10 and 10lbs to target now . so will plod on.

Some of our members have had a shocking loss of the monetary kind not weight, several members , including my DD, have received a letter saying they have a £100 fine for illegally parking at the Hotel where we meet. thankfully the consultant says she will sort it out and they wont have to pay but I bet it was responsible for some of the gains, know a letter like that would send me straight to the biscuit tin.

If the tickets have been issued by a parking company they are not "fines" and can be negated if the consultant doesn't sort it. all the information is here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

Thank you, someone did give us this information at group but it seems OK, drivers give their registration number when signing in and parking is free, It seems that these details were not logged in by the Hotel, hence the letters,

Evening all. So many of you are doing terrifically well. I love how some of you also have the foresight to plan well ahead and take account of times when you might not have as much control over what you eat as you'd like. Well done.

I did much better today, I am happy to say.

Breakfast: shape yogurt with blueberries and raspberries
Lunch: hexb toasted cheese (hexa) with basil and tomatoes
Dinner: Vegetable Paella from the magazine (0.5 syn) followed by strawberries and a wee wee scoop of ice cream (4 syns)

Not had any snacks yet :A, but I will have something. I'll tell you tomorrow what I chose.

The paella was delicious. I couldn't get the peppadew peppers, so I used sliced jalapenos in vinegar, resulting in a lovely, very spicy meal :)

    Total syns: 4.5
    Syns Bank balance: 83.5

Keep your spirits up (remember to syn them, if they are the liquid kind though ;) ) and keep your mind on your goal, whatever it is.
